(Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to an improvement of a mold for horizontal continuous casting. (Prior art and its problems) In horizontal continuous casting, in which slabs are intermittently pulled out from a mold installed horizontally at the lower part of the side wall of a tundish through a refractory, conventionally, the structure of the entrance side of the mold was Because no consideration was given to heat removal characteristics, the following problems arose. That is, as shown in FIG. 4, the mold 1 and the feed nozzle 2 are connected via the connecting refractory 3. Therefore, the amount of heat Q removed at the contact surface between the mold 1 and the connecting refractory 3 is large;
When the inner surface temperature of the connecting refractory 3 becomes lower than the solidification temperature of the cast steel type, a solidification shell 4 is generated from the inner circumferential surface of the connecting refractory 3 to the inner circumferential surface on the tip side of the feed nozzle 2. When the solidified shell 4 is combined with the normal solidified shell 5 generated on the inner peripheral surface of the mold 1 by intermittent drawing, the force to peel off the solidified shell 4 from the connecting refractory 3 acts as a resistance, and the next During the drawing process, the normally solidified shell 5 breaks at the fragile part, and the surface texture of the slab deteriorates. (Means for solving the problem) The present invention aims to solve the above problem by reducing the amount of heat removed from the connecting refractory to the mold. This is a horizontal continuous casting mold that has a heat insulating hole that satisfies the following formula. l×n/L×100≧50(%), A≧X However, l: Diameter of the insulation hole in the circumferential direction n: Number of insulation holes L: Perimeter at the position of the insulation hole A: Depth of the insulation hole X: Contact length of the mold and the connecting refractory Here, the reason why the diameter l in the circumferential direction of the insulation hole, the number n, the circumferential length L at the position, and the depth A need to satisfy the above formula is as follows. This is because if the formula is not satisfied, the amount of heat Q extracted from the connected refractories cannot be reduced, and the solidification shell generated on the inner circumferential surface of the connected refractories cannot be prevented. (Example) The present invention will be described below based on an example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. In the figure, the same numbers as in FIG. 4 indicate the same or corresponding parts. The horizontal continuous casting mold 1 according to the present invention has a heat insulating hole 6 on its entrance surface that satisfies the following and formula.
It has been established. l×n/L×100≧50(%)…, A≧X… However, l: Diameter in the circumferential direction of the heat insulating holes 6 n: Number of the heat insulating holes 6 L: Perimeter at the position of the heat insulating holes 6 A: Depth of the insulation hole 6 In other words, a plurality of heat insulating holes 6 of a predetermined depth are provided in the entrance end face of the mold 1 to reduce the amount of heat Q extracted from the connecting refractory 3. Then, the amount of heat removed Q is determined by the amount of dead air that this insulation hole 6 has,
This determines whether or not a solidified shell 4 is generated on the inner surface of the connecting refractory 3. Therefore, the conditions for the heat insulating hole 6 must satisfy the above and formulas. The shape of the heat insulating hole 6 may be a rectangular hole as shown in FIG. Of course, a round hole may also be used. (Experimental results) Using mold 1 according to the present invention, a diameter of 220 mm was obtained.
A slab of φ was manufactured. In addition, the casting conditions in this case are a molten steel superheat degree of 30 to 50℃, and a casting speed of 0.7 m/min.
min, the material of the connecting refractory 3 was silicon nitride, and the cast steel type was SUS304. As shown in the table below, the mold 1 has a heat insulation hole ratio of 30%, 50%, expressed by the left side of the equation.
Three types of 70% were used. For comparison, a similar experiment was also conducted using a conventional mold (with a heat insulating hole ratio of 0%) 1.

化が防止でき、安定した鋳込が可能となる。[Table] As is clear from Fig. 3, when the insulation hole ratio is 50% or more, the formation of solidified shells 4 on the inner circumferential surface of the connecting refractories 3 can be prevented, and no disturbance of the pull-out marks will occur. Nakatsuta. (Effects of the invention) As explained above, the mold according to the invention has a heat insulating hole on the entry side end face to prevent heat loss from the contact surface with the connecting refractory as much as possible. There is no generation of solidified shell on the inner circumferential surface of the refractory, and deterioration of the slab surface skin caused by this solidified shell can be prevented, and stable casting is possible.
