The stacked sheets of paper to be separated are placed on the sheet holder so that the ends of the sheets protrude from the sheet holder, and Separation and counting operations of the leaf separator are performed. For this reason, for multiple types of paper sheets having various thicknesses and different paper qualities, the protruding end from the paper sheet holding stand is designed to allow each sheet to be separated, regardless of the type of paper sheet being separated. On the side of the plate where the separation operation is performed, rather than in a state in which they are in close contact with each other, it is necessary that appropriate gaps be formed between the paper sheets, and that the edges are aligned and held in an orderly manner to facilitate the separation operation. .
If the protruding ends of the paper sheets to be separated hang down excessively or are arranged in a disordered manner, it will be difficult to perform the separation operation, and a malfunction may occur during separation. It is necessary that the sheets are arranged in an orderly manner and that appropriate gaps are formed between the sheets.

When using such a sheet holder, if the sheets 13 to be separated stacked on the sheet holder are thick or the paper is stiff, the paper sheets 13 to be separated may be separated as shown in FIG. 2A. Even at the ends of the leaves 13, the sheets are hardly separated and no gaps are formed. When the length of the protruding end of the paper sheets to be separated is increased in an attempt to separate the paper sheets from each other, the paper sheets are pushed into the paper stacking section 12 by their own weight as shown in FIG. 2B. Although the entire sheet is bent at the end, a good gap between the sheets is not formed at the protruding end of the sheet, and the arrangement of the ends is also disordered.

In order to solve this drawback, as shown in FIG.
A structure has been proposed in which the support plate 15 is fixed to a substrate 17 fixed to the paper stacking section 12 via a rotating holder 16. In this structure, the support plate 15 is rotatably attached to the paper stacking plate surface in a direction perpendicular to the paper stacking plate surface, centering on the end on the paper stacking section 12 side.
A support arm 18 is provided with a spring 19 and is attached between the support plates 15 and 5, so that the support plate 15 can be rotated elastically.

In this proposed method, when the paper sheets 13 to be separated are thick or stiff due to their paper quality, the stacked arrangement state is as shown in FIG.
The support plate 15 elastically rotates by a predetermined angle due to the weight of the paper sheets 13 to be separated, but at the end position of the paper sheets 13 to be separated, there is a gap between the support plate 15 and the lower surface of the stacked paper sheets 13 to be separated. is formed, and some gaps are created between the sheets at the protruding ends, but the gap formation and edge arrangement are not significantly improved.

FIG. 10 shows a state in which the paper sheets 13 to be separated are stacked and set in a separated state, and since the paper edge holding section 23 is formed of an elastic plate, it protrudes from the end of the paper stacking section 22. It comes into contact with the end of the arranged sheet of paper 13 to be separated from its lower surface side, and comes into elastic contact with the sheet of paper 13 to be separated over the entire surface of the plate. Therefore, when the protruding ends of the stacked sheets 13 to be separated from the paper stacking section 22 are bent to form a curved surface of a predetermined curvature due to their own weight, the sheets to be separated in the paper edge holding section 23 are bent. One end side facing the leaf 13 is curved with a curvature corresponding to this curvature, and almost the entire surface elastically receives the paper leaf 13 to be separated which has been deformed into a curved shape.

In general, when the paper sheets 13 to be separated are thick or stiff due to the quality of the paper, the length of the portion of the paper edge holder 23 that contacts the paper sheets 13 to be separated is shortened, and the relatively short portion is used to separate the paper sheets 13. Even when the paper sheets 13 are held, a desired end state can be achieved by forming a desired gap between the paper sheets at the ends thereof and orderly arranging the sheets at their protruding ends.

On the other hand, when the paper sheets 13 to be separated are thin or the paper quality is weak, the paper sheets 13 to be separated are held in the paper edge holding section 23.
In order to make the formation and arrangement of paper gaps at the ends desirable, it is desirable to hold the paper sheets 13 to be separated at a predetermined curvature over a relatively long distance by increasing the length of the contact portion with the paper sheets 13. is necessary.

Since the paper edge holding part 23 of the paper sheet holding stand of this invention is formed by bending a single elastic plate, the selection of the material, the method of bending, and the extension from the bending part 24 to the paper sheet 13 to be separated are determined. By setting the length of the opposing end,
It is possible to easily create one with optimal retention characteristics depending on the paper thickness and paper quality of the paper sheets 13 to be separated.

In this attached state of the paper edge holding section 23-2, a gap is created between the boundary surface of the paper stacking section 22 with the attachment body 22-T and the paper edge holding section 23-2. However, in general, the paper edge holding portion 23 has a short contact length with the paper sheets to be separated.
-2 is used for paper sheets to be separated that are thick or stiff, so the inventors have determined that the presence of some gaps will not have any negative effect on the separation of the paper sheets. Ta.

As explained in each of the embodiments, in the paper sheet holding stand of this invention, the paper edge holding section 23 is formed of an elastic plate, and corresponds to the curvature of the curvature formed at the protruding end of the paper sheet to be separated by its own weight. It is elastically deformed and can hold the paper sheets to be separated on almost the entire surface. For this purpose, a desired gap is formed between the paper sheets at the separated ends of the stacked sheets to be separated, and the end portions of the paper sheets are arranged in an orderly manner.
