Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an image on an object without interfering with the color etc. of the object, by a method wherein, an image is formed by selectively transferring an ink layer of a recording medium to an ink non-absorbing accepting body by a thermal transfer method and, thereafter, a transparent sheet is applied on the image, whereby the image is securely transferred to an adhesive layer of the sheet, and this transparent sheet is applied to the object. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer (r) of a recording medium is selectively transferred to an ink non-absorbing accepting body 3 by a thermal transfer method to form an image. Thereafter, on the image on the accepting layer 3 a transparent sheet 4 having an adhesive layer 4a is applied, whereby the image is securely transferred to the adhesive layer 4a. After that, the transparent sheet 4 is bonded to an object A. In this manner, a sharply printed image is formed without interfering with the intrinsic color or pattern of the object.

The method of forming an image on an object according to the present invention involves selectively transferring an ink layer of a recording medium to a non-ink-absorbing receptor to form an image using a thermal transfer method, and then forming an image on the image on the receptor. The feature is that a transparent sheet having an adhesive layer is attached to the object, the above-mentioned printed image is transferred and fixed to the adhesive layer of the transparent sheet, and then the transparent sheet is attached to an object. The effects are as follows.

The present inventor has discovered that in a thermal transfer method, in particular, in a method in which an ink layer that is solid at room temperature is melted or softened with heat to selectively transfer this ink layer to a receptor to form a printed image, It has been discovered that an ink layer can be transferred to form a clear image even if the body is non-ink absorbent.

Moreover, since the ink transferred to the receptor is rapidly cooled and solidified at the time of transfer, the printed image will not collapse even when the ink transferred to the receptor is transferred and fixed to the adhesive layer of the transparent sheet. There isn't. Furthermore, since the ink transferred to the transparent sheet is reliably fixed by the adhesive layer, it is possible to prevent the printed image from becoming unclear due to collapse of the ink after transfer.

As a result, by using thermal transfer printing printers, which have become popular in most offices and homes in recent years, or computers that control them, it is possible to imprint objects with their original designs and textures. It is possible to always easily form a clear impression without damaging it. Furthermore, since the printed image is protected by a transparent sheet, it will not collapse or peel off due to contact with other objects, and the initial clear printed image can be maintained for a long period of time. It's arrived.
