The present invention relates to an adhesive containing α-cyanoacrylate as a main component. Adhesives whose main component is α-cyanoacrylate are characterized by their ability to polymerize in an extremely short time due to trace amounts of moisture present in the air or on the surfaces of objects to be bonded, and to bond objects instantly (hereinafter referred to as instant adhesiveness). )
It is widely used in various fields because of its Among them, adhesives whose main components are methyl-α-cyanoacrylate and ethyl-α-cyanoacrylate have particularly good instant adhesive properties and are most commonly used, but they have a strong pungent odor and cause whitening of the surrounding area of the adhered surface. (hereinafter, this development is simply referred to as whitening). On the other hand, adhesives containing alkoxy-α-cyanoacrylate as a substantial component such as 2-methoxyisopropyl-α-cyanoacrylate are preferable because they have almost no odor and hardly cause whitening, but they have instant adhesive properties. However, its use has been limited to surgical adhesives for bonding living organisms that contain a large amount of water, which is a polymerization accelerator. In view of the current state of conventional α-cyanoacrylate adhesives, the present invention has developed an α-cyanoacrylate adhesive that has almost no irritating odor or whitening, and has sufficient instant adhesive properties as an adhesive for general industrial or household use. The purpose is to provide a drug. However, the gist is that the general formula

100 parts by weight of alkoxy-α-cyanoacrylate represented by [Formula] (wherein R 1 is an alkoxy group having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of 1 to 3) and methyl α-cyano Acrylate or ethyl α-cyanoacrylate
0.5 to 40 parts by weight of an α-cyanoacrylate adhesive. Specific examples of the alkoxy-α-cyanoacrylate represented by the above general formula in the present invention include 2-methoxyethyl-α-cyanoacrylate,
3-methoxy-propyl-α-cyanoacrylate, 2-methoxyisopropyl-α-cyanoacrylate, ethoxymethyl-α-cyanoacrylate, 2-ethoxyethyl-α-cyanoacrylate, 2-ethoxypropyl-α-cyanoacrylate, etc. 2-methoxyisopropyl-α-cyanoacrylate is particularly preferred since it has no odor and does not cause whitening. The adhesive of the present invention contains 0.5 to 40 parts by weight of methyl-α-cyanoacrylate or ethyl-α-cyanoacrylate to 100 parts by weight of these alkoxy-α-cyanoacrylates, and has a balance between instant adhesive properties and odor prevention. It is preferably contained in an amount of 3 to 25 parts by weight. i.e. methyl or ethyl-
If there is too much α-cyanoalkyl acrylate, the instantaneous adhesion of the entire adhesive will be improved, but the odor will be strong and whitening will occur; This is because instantaneous adhesion becomes insufficient for practical use. The above alkoxy-α-cyanoacrylate and lower alkyl-α-cyanoacrylate can be easily obtained by conventionally known methods. That is, in general,
Cyanoacetic acid and an appropriate alcohol are subjected to an esterification reaction in the presence of an acid catalyst while being continuously dehydrated in a solvent capable of azeotroping with water such as benzene or toluene, and the resulting cyanoacetate is treated with formaldehyde or paraformaldehyde. and react the two in the presence of a basic catalyst to obtain a condensate. After that, the low boiling point content in the obtained polymer is distilled off, a stabilizer is added, and thermal depolymerization is performed under reduced pressure to obtain the desired α
- to obtain cyanoacrylate. As in the case of conventional α-cyanoacrylate adhesives, stabilizers for the adhesive of the present invention include at least one anionic polymerization inhibitor such as sulfur dioxide, sulfonic acids, sultones, and lactones, and hydroquinone, hydroquinone monomethyl ether, etc. At least one radical polymerization inhibitor such as , catechol, pyrogal, etc. is generally used.
The amount of the polymerization inhibitor added varies somewhat depending on the type of each inhibitor, but it is usually 1 to 10,000 ppm of the anionic polymerization inhibitor and 1 part of the radical polymerization inhibitor based on the total amount of the adhesive.
It is said to be in the range of ~10000ppm. Furthermore, the adhesive of the present invention generally has a viscosity of 15 to 25 centipoise at room temperature, but if necessary, it can be increased to about 600 centipoise by adding a thickener such as polymethacrylic acid ester or cellulose acetate. It's okay. In addition, carboxylic acid anhydrides such as maleic anhydride and adipic anhydride may be added to the adhesive of the present invention to improve heat resistance, and carboxylic acids such as glyoxylic acid and pyruvic acid, polyisocyanates, etc. may be added to improve impact resistance. You can improve your sexuality. The amount of these modifiers added is 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of the above carboxylic acid anhydride to 100 parts by weight of the above α-cyanoacrylate,
Preferably 0.01 to 3 parts by weight, polyisocyanate
The amount of the carboxylic acid is 0.1 to 30 parts by weight, and the carboxylic acid is 0.1 to 50,000 ppm, preferably 1 to 50,000 ppm in the total amount of the adhesive.
5000ppm present. Since the adhesive of the present invention is configured as described above, it has practically sufficient instant adhesiveness and adhesive strength as a general industrial or household adhesive, has almost no odor, and does not cause unsightly whitening. It is something that never happens. The present invention will be explained below with reference to Examples. still,
The performance measurement methods or evaluation criteria shown in Tables 1 and 2 are as follows. (1) Instant adhesiveness Based on JISK6861, the time required for the adhered object to reach a strength of 5 kgf, that is, the set time, is expressed in seconds. Iron and nitrile-butadiene rubber were used as test pieces. (2) Shear adhesive strength Conducted in accordance with JISK6861. Iron and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin were used as test pieces. (3) Odor strength A: No odor. B: Very weak, some people do not feel it at all. C: Very weak. D: There is a strong pungent odor. (4) State of whitening One drop of adhesive was dropped on a clean shear dish, and the adhesive was left at room temperature for one day and night, and then observed. The evaluation criteria are as follows. A: No whitening at all. B: The periphery of the shear stain was slightly whitened, although it could not be confirmed without looking closely. C: The entire glass surface of the shear glass became cloudy. Example 1 Cyanoacetic acid and propylene glycol monomethyl ether were esterified in the presence of a sulfuric acid catalyst while being continuously dehydrated in benzene, and the obtained 2-methoxyisopropyl cyanoacetate and paraformaldehyde were combined in the presence of piperidine. After adding hydroquinone and phosphorus pentoxide, the polymer was thermally depolymerized in a sulfur dioxide gas stream, and the resulting crude 2-methoxyisopropyl-α-cyanoacrylate was Distillation in a sulfur dioxide gas stream yielded pure 2-methoxyisopropyl-α-cyanoacrylate. 100 parts of this α-cyanoacrylate and methyl-α-cyanoacrylate obtained in the same manner as above except that methanol was used as the alcohol.
10 parts to prepare an adhesive. The physical properties of this adhesive are shown in Table 1. Examples 2 to 6 Desired cyanoacetate was obtained in the same manner as in Example 1, changing the type of alcohol as appropriate, and then α-
Cyanoacrylate was synthesized to obtain an adhesive having the composition and physical properties shown in Table 1. Comparative Examples 1 to 4 When the physical properties of each of the α-cyanoacrylates synthesized in Examples were measured, as shown in Table 2, none of them were satisfactory in terms of instant adhesiveness, odor, and whitening phenomenon.
