Abstract

PURPOSE:To cancel the offset of the whole in a batch by causing an adjusting current to flow to the input resistance of a first stage amplifier circuit. CONSTITUTION:Into the input of a first stage amplifier circuit A1, resistances R1 and R2 are inserted in series. A voltage comparator circuit VD makes a difference voltage between an output signal V0 of an output stage amplifier circuit An and a reference voltage Vref or the amplified voltage into an offset voltage Vof, an offset canceling control circuit OFC connects a switch circuit SW1 to the resistance R1 side when, for example, the offset voltage Vof is a positive voltage, a switch S1 in a switch circuit SW2 is made into an on- condition, and a constant current I0 made to flow to the resistance R1 is made to flow as an offset canceling current Id. Until the polarity of the offset voltage Vof is inverted, switches S2-Sm are successively made into the on-condition, and the canceling current Id is increased. Thus, the offset of the whole can be automatically canceled in a batch.

In the first stage amplifier circuit AI, resistors R1 and R2 are inserted in series into a pair of inputs for canceling the offset. In the first stage amplifier circuit A1, the input signal Vin is shown to be supplied to the differential input terminal, but for example, the non-inverting input (+) side is coupled to an external terminal, and the coupling capacitance is connected from there. An input signal and a predetermined DC bias voltage formed by an internal circuit are supplied through the terminal. With this configuration, it is also possible to cancel offset voltage due to changes over time. Further, in the configuration in which the offset canceling operation is performed using a constant current source as in this embodiment, since the offset canceling circuit is high impedance, it does not have any effect on the input signal Vin.

Instead of the above configuration, the output signal vO input to the voltage comparator circuit VD may be configured to provide only the output DC level by providing a low-pass filter or the like. With this configuration, the DC direct-coupled amplifier circuit can always perform the offset cancel operation in parallel with the amplification operation. Therefore, it becomes possible to compensate for output DC fluctuations due to power supply fluctuations and temperature fluctuations.

Although the invention made by the present inventor has been specifically explained based on Examples above, the present invention is not limited to the above Examples (although it is possible to make various changes without departing from the gist thereof). For example, in addition to the 0M03 circuit described above, each amplifier circuit constituting the DC direct-coupled amplifier circuit may be configured using a bipolar transistor or a combination of an FET and a bipolar transistor. The offset canceling circuit may be formed in advance so that an offset occurs in one polarity, and then adjusted to cancel it out.If such a configuration is adopted, for example, in Fig. 1, the resistor Either R1 or R2 can be omitted, and the switch circuit SWI can be omitted.

A detailed explanation of the effects obtained by typical inventions disclosed in this application is as follows. That is, a resistance means is provided in series with the input signal transmission path of the first stage amplifier circuit in the DC direct-coupled amplifier circuit, and the output signal of the output stage amplifier circuit is compared with a predetermined reference voltage to determine whether the output signal is equal to the reference voltage. By causing a current from a current source to flow through the resistors provided in the first-stage amplifier circuit so as to substantially coincide with each other, the entire offset in the direct-current coupled amplifier circuit can be automatically canceled all at once.
