Abstract

PURPOSE:To drastically reduce the consuming quantity of a magnetic tape by operating a motor driving circuit and executing a recording onto the magnetic tape only when the output signal of a level detecting circuit is generated. CONSTITUTION:When a recording button is pushed in order to record an input signal generated from an input signal source 9 onto the magnetic tape, a first switch 13 is opened, and the input signal is amplified by a preamplifier 10, attenuated by a volume 11, amplifier by a main amplifier 14 and conducted out to an output terminal 15. At such a time, when the output signal level of the main amplifier 13 is lower than that of a reference voltage, an output signal from a first comparator circuit 16 is not generated, a second switch 21 maintains in an opened condition, a motor driving circuit 20 is not generated, a motor 19 is not rotated, and the magnetic tape is not made to travel. When the output signal at a level larger than that of the reference voltage is generated from the main amplifier 14, the output signal is generated from the first comparator circuit 16, the charging of a capacitor 17 is started, and the motor 19 starts the rotation by the output signal from the second comparator circuit 18.

(b) Conventional tape recorders used to record the contents of technical conferences, etc. are not required to have the same acoustic characteristics as ordinary high-fidelity tape recorders, but they do require special measures to record human voices correctly, such as the directivity of the microphone, etc. The frequency characteristics have been modified to form a genre called memo. Figure 2 shows the internal circuit of such a tape recorder.
The signal to be recorded obtained from the signal source (1) is amplified by the preamplifier (2), level-adjusted by the volume (3), further amplified by the main amplifier (4), and then sent to the output terminal (5). The magnetic tape is then driven by a motor (7) driven by a motor drive circuit (6), and the magnetic head records information in the magnetic cave.

(c) Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, when recording the contents of a meeting, etc., if the recording time becomes long, the amount of magnetic tape becomes insufficient, and the magnetic tape must be replaced midway through. Furthermore, when reproducing the content recorded on the magnetic tape at a later date, there is a problem that the overall reproduction time becomes longer if there are many blank areas.

(E) Function According to the present invention, it is possible to amplify the input signal to be recorded by a predetermined factor using the amplifier circuit and generate it at the output terminal. Since the output signal level of the amplifier circuit is detected by the level detection circuit and applied to the motor drive circuit as an operation control signal, the motor drive circuit can be operated only when the output signal of a predetermined level or higher is detected. Yes, you can record it. Furthermore, since a resistor is inserted in series with the volume, an output signal can be generated from the amplifier circuit even when the volume is completely turned down. In that case, if a switch is connected in parallel to the resistor and the switch is closed when the tape recorder is switched to the playback state, the output signal of the amplifier circuit can be made completely zero during playback. Furthermore, since a comparator circuit with hysteresis is provided in the level detection circuit, a motor drive circuit that has been activated can be maintained in an open operation state for a while even if a blank occurs.

Next, the operation will be explained. A record button (not shown) is used to record the input signal generated from the input signal source (9) onto the magnetic tape.
When the first switch (13) is suppressed, the first switch (13) is opened, and the input signal is amplified by the preamp (10), attenuated by the volume (11), and further amplified by the main amplifier (14).
) and output to the output terminal <15>. At that time, if the output signal level of the main amplifier (14) is lower than the reference voltage, no output signal is generated from the first comparison circuit (16) and the capacitor (17) is not charged. Therefore, an output signal is generated from the second comparison circuit (18), the second switch 21 remains open, and the motor drive circuit (20) does not operate. Therefore, the motor (19
> does not rotate and the magnetic tape does not run. When the main amplifier <14> generates an output signal greater than the reference voltage, an output signal is generated from the first comparator circuit (16), and charging of the capacitor (17) is started. The charging time constant of the capacitor (17) is relatively short, and the terminal voltage of the capacitor (17) is controlled by the first comparison circuit (
16) rises almost immediately in response to the high level output signal,
In response, an output signal is generated from the second comparator circuit (18). The output signal of the second comparator circuit (18) closes the second switch (21), so the motor drive circuit (20) operates and the motor (19) starts rotating. Therefore, the output signal generated at the output terminal (15) is recorded on the magnetic tape via the magnetic head. Incidentally, the attack time at that time is a short value of 50 msec or less.

When the input signal level decreases and the output signal level of the main amplifier (14) becomes lower than the reference voltage of the first comparison circuit (16), the output signal of the first comparison circuit (16) is no longer generated and the capacitor (17) ) starts discharging. At that time, since the discharge time constant of the capacitor (17) is relatively large and the second comparator circuit (18) has hysteresis, the output signal from the second comparator circuit (18) is continues to occur, and the motor (19) continues to rotate. Here, the second comparator circuit (18) has a first reference level when the input signal is not blocked, and when the input signal is applied, the level exceeds the first reference level. When the input signal level decreases and becomes lower than the second reference level, the reference level is changed to a second reference level lower than the first reference level, and when the input signal level decreases and becomes lower than the second reference level, the output signal is generated. It operates to stop the generation of the signal and to change the reference level to the first reference level. Therefore, the input signal of the second comparator circuit (18) is held by the capacitor (17) and the second comparator circuit (8)
Due to the hysteresis, the output signal of the second comparator circuit (18) continues to be generated for a predetermined period of time even if the output signal level of the power amplifier (14) decreases. and,
When the output signal level of the power amplifier 14) continues to decrease for the predetermined period or longer, the second comparison circuit <18> stops generating the output signal. Therefore, by using the circuit shown in Fig. 1, when the input signal is not applied for a long time, it is possible to stop the rotation of the motor (19) and stop the running of the magnetic tape, thereby wasting the magnetic tape. can be prevented.

In the recording state, since the first switch (13) is open, the resistor (12) can be placed in series with the volume (11). Therefore, even when the volume (11) is turned down to -, the output signal generated at both ends of the resistor (12) is applied to the main amplifier (14), resulting in the recording caused by the position of the volume (11). Malfunctions such as stops can be prevented.

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the present invention, since the magnetic tape is run only when there is a signal of a predetermined level or higher to be recorded, the consumption of the magnetic tape can be greatly reduced. can be reduced to In addition, a resistor is inserted in series with the volume so that an output signal is generated from the power amplifier even when the volume is turned down.

Furthermore, since a switch is connected in parallel with the resistor and is closed during playback, sound leakage during playback can be prevented. Furthermore, since the level detection circuit is composed of a first comparison circuit, a smoothing circuit, and a second comparison circuit having hysteresis, it is possible to run the magnetic tape normally if a no-signal state lasts only a short time. I can do it.
