The waste acid generated in the pickling process is passed through a sludge sedimentation tank, and the sludge in the waste acid is settled at the bottom, and the sludge and waste acid are separated and treated. Conventionally, settled sludge is discharged into a bucket outside the tank from a discharge port provided at the bottom of the sludge settling tank (Steel Manufacturing Method, Vol. 3, p. 659). At this time, the sludge sometimes became stuck near the discharge port, making it impossible to discharge the sludge.

業は非常に危惧されていた。 In such cases, conventionally, the stuck part of the sludge inside the tank was poked with a stick from the outlet side or washed with water, but since the sludge is an acidic substance, there are safety issues and the workability is also poor, so this method is not recommended. Such work was extremely dangerous.

In the present invention, below the outlet 7 of the sludge settling tank 1,
First on-off valve 2, small tank 3 and second on-off valve 4
are connected in this order from top to bottom, and an air nozzle 6 that opens into the small tank 3 and has an air valve 8 is provided at the bottom of the small tank 3, and a first on-off valve 2 and a second on-off valve 4. Close the air valve 8, open the air valve 8, and supply compressed air into the small tank 3. After the pressure inside the small tank 3 becomes the same as the original pressure, close the air valve 8 and open the first on-off valve 2. The air is supplied to the sludge settling tank 1 to disperse and finely adhere the stuck sludge, and after allowing the sludge to settle, the second on-off valve 4 is opened and the sludge is discharged out of the tank. This is a method for discharging sludge in a sludge settling tank.

An air nozzle 6 with 8 is provided. When waste acid is introduced into the sludge settling tank 1 and the sludge in the waste acid is settling, the first on-off valve 2 is closed.

沈降する。 When the sludge settles and accumulates in a predetermined amount in the sludge settling tank 1, the sludge in the sludge settling tank 1 is discharged into a bucket (not shown) outside the tank. At this time, the first on-off valve 2 and the second on-off valve 4 are open, and the air nozzle 6 as a compressed air supply port is closed by the air valve 8. If the sludge is clogged at the bottom of the sludge settling tank 1 and cannot be discharged, the first on-off valve 2
Then, the second on-off valve 4 is closed, and the air valve 8 is opened to supply compressed air into the small tank 3. After a while, the pressure inside the small tank 3 rises and becomes the same as the original pressure of the compressed air supply source, and then the air valve 8 is closed and the first
When the on-off valve 2 is opened, the compressed air in the small tank 3 momentarily expands and floats through the valve 2, causing bubbling in the lower part of the sludge settling tank 1. Then, the sludge solidified in the lower part of the sludge settling tank 1 is dispersed and made fine by the air bubbling action. The sludge that has been made into fine particles by stirring is left to stand still and settles in the lower part of the sludge settling tank 1 and in the small tank 3.

作動させて行うことができる。 Then, the second on-off valve 4 is opened and the sludge is discharged into a bucket outside the tank. Immediately after the sludge in the small tank 3 and sludge settling tank 1 is discharged, the first on-off valve 2 is closed, and then the second on-off valve 4 is closed. Therefore, normally there is no waste acid or sludge in the small tank 3, but in the unlikely event that sludge becomes stuck in the small tank 3 and causes a blockage, the first on-off valve 2 and the second on-off valve 4 should be operated as described above. With the air valve 8 closed, open the air valve 8 to supply compressed air into the small tank 3 to disperse and atomize the sludge, then close the air valve 8 and open the second on-off valve 4 to release the sludge in the small tank 3. Discharge using the expansion action of compressed air. These operations can be performed by automatically operating each valve in sequence.

Sludge can be easily discharged by using it together with a shower.
