The present invention relates to a novel polyphenylene ether resin composition comprising a polyphenylene ether resin and an aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resin. Polyphenylene ether resin has excellent thermal, mechanical, electrical, and chemical properties over a wide range of temperatures, but polyphenylene ether resin alone is brittle and has low fluidity. The disadvantage is that it has poor moldability due to its nature. Therefore, it has been proposed to blend or graft or block copolymerize polystyrene resin with polyphenylene ether resin, but although the moldability of polyphenylene ether resin is improved, the brittleness is not improved. It has also been proposed to blend polyphenylene ether resin with conjugated diene rubber such as polybutadiene, styrene-butadiene copolymer, or ethylene/propylene rubber; Although impact resistance can be greatly improved, there are drawbacks in terms of heat resistance, ozone resistance, and weather resistance. On the other hand, ethylene/propylene rubber has poor heat resistance and
Although it has excellent ozone resistance and weather resistance, its compatibility with polyphenylene ether resin is not good, so the improvement in impact resistance cannot be said to be sufficient. As a result of various researches aimed at improving the impact resistance of compositions containing polyphenylene ether resins, the present inventor has discovered that an aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resin is blended into a composition containing polyphenylene ether resins. It has been discovered that a polyphenylene ether resin composition can be obtained which has greatly improved impact resistance and has substantially no or little decrease in heat resistance and mechanical strength unlike conjugated diene rubbers, and has developed the present invention. reached. That is, the present invention provides (a) a resin comprising 10% by weight or more of a polyphenylene ether resin, a polyphenylene ether resin and a polystyrene resin, or a polyphenylene ether-polystyrene copolymer; ) An aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resin containing polyalkylene glycol residues as soft segments and aromatic polyester residues as hard segments (hereinafter simply referred to as aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resin). The present invention relates to a nylene ether resin composition. The polyphenylene ether resin of the present invention has the general formula It has a unit structure represented by R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and
R 4 is hydrogen, halogen, hydrocarbon group, substituted hydrocarbon group, cyano group, alkoxy group, phenoxy group, or nitro group, and n indicates the degree of polymerization. R1 , R2 ,
Specific examples of R 3 and R 4 include hydrogen, chlorine, bromine,
Examples include groups such as iodine, methyl, ethyl, propyl, allyl, phenyl, benzyl, methylbenzyl, chloromethyl, bromomethyl, cyanoethyl, cyano, methoxy, ethoxy, phenoxy, and nitro. Specifically, for example, poly-2,6
-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-diethyl-1,4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-dipropyl-1,4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-dimethoxy -1,
4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-dichloromethyl-1,4-phenylene ether, poly-
2,6-dipromemethyl-1,4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-diphenyl-1,4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-ditolyl-
Examples include 1,4-phenylene ether, poly-2,6-dichloro-1,4-phenylene ether, and poly-2,5-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether. In the present invention, the composition comprising a polyphenylene ether resin, a polyphenylene ether resin and a polystyrene resin, or a polyphenylene ether-polystyrene copolymer contains 10% by weight or more of
A polyphenylene ether resin or a polyphenylene ether resin and a polystyrene resin or a polyphenylene ether-polystyrene copolymer,
Preferably, the organic polymer is composed of 90% by weight or less of other organic polymers, such as polystyrene, polyolefin, polycarbonate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyarylate, polyphenylene ether, polyphenylene sulfide, Known polymers such as polyacetal, polyamide, and polysulfone are included. The polystyrene resin that can be blended or copolymerized with the polyphenylene ether resin of the present invention has the general formula (In the formula, R represents hydrogen, a lower alkyl group such as an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a halogen, Z represents hydrogen, a halogen, or a lower alkyl group, and p represents 0 or an integer of 1 to 5. ). Polymers containing at least 25% by weight of units derived from vinyl aromatic compounds, such as polystyrene, polychlorostyrene, polyα
- homopolymers such as methylstyrene, rubber-modified polystyrenes, such as styrene-butadiene rubber-modified polystyrenes, EPDM-based rubber-modified polystyrenes, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymers, styrene-butadiene copolymers, styrene-α-methylstyrene copolymers, Various copolymers such as styrene-acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer and styrene-maleic acid copolymer are included. Further, polyphenylene ether-polystyrene copolymers include, for example, block or graft copolymers. These can be obtained, for example, according to the disclosure of Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-38596. The weight ratio of polyphenylene ether and polystyrene is 10 to 95 parts.
A range of 90 to 5 is preferred. The aromatic polyester/polyether resin used in the present invention is polytetramethylene glycol,
The residues of polyalkylene glycols such as polyethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol/polypropylene glycol block copolymers, and polyhydric alcohol/alkylene oxide adducts are used as soft segments to produce polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate/isophthalate, and polyethylene paraphthalate. The hard segment is the residue of an aromatic polyester such as xybenzoate, polyethylene terephthalate adipate, polyethylene terephthalate sebacate, polyethylene naphthalate, polybutylene terephthalate adipate, polybutylene terephthalate isophthalate, polybutylene terephthalate or ethylene terephthalate. Examples include aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resins. The aromatic polyester
Polyether elastic resin usually has a molecular weight of 650 or higher,
Aromatic polyester/polyalkylene which preferably uses polyalkylene glycol having a molecular weight of 800 to 6,000, contains a polyalkylene glycol component of 15% by weight or more, preferably 18 to 85% by weight, and has a molecular weight of 8,000 or more, preferably 10,000 or more. Glycol block copolymers are preferred. The blending amount of the aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resin is a resin made of polyphenylene ether resin, polyphenylene ether resin and polystyrene resin, or polyphenylene ether-polystyrene copolymer.
It is preferably 0.2 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight, especially
0.5 to 30 parts by weight is preferred. If the amount is less than 0.2 parts by weight, the effect of improving impact resistance will be small, and if it is more than 40 parts by weight, the original properties of the polyphenylene ether resin will be lost, which is not preferable. The aromatic polyester/polyether elastic resin of the present invention can be used together with a polyphenylene ether resin, a polyphenylene ether resin and a polystyrene resin, or a polyphenylene ether-polystyrene copolymer using an extruder, roll mill, Banbury mixer, etc. It can be blended by mechanical kneading such as. In addition, when using polystyrene resin together with polyphenylene ether resin, instead of simultaneously kneading aromatic polyester/polyether resin with both, use polystyrene resin modified with aromatic polyester/polyether resin. It is also possible to knead it with polyphenylene ether resin. The composition of the present invention includes fibrous reinforcing agents such as glass fiber and carbon fiber; inorganic fillers such as talc, clay, wollastonite, mica, graphite, silica, titanium oxide, and calcium carbonate; decabromo biphenyl ether, etc. halogen-based or phosphorus-based flame retardants such as triphenyl phosphite, flame retardant aids such as antimony trioxide; coloring agents, blowing agents,
Additives such as heat stabilizers, ultraviolet absorbers, mold release agents, and lubricants can be added. The present invention will be explained below using examples. Example 1 2,6-dimethylphenol in toluene medium with cupric chloride anhydride and dibutylamine as catalysts
