Generally, as shown in Fig. 1, a magnetic switch has a metal cylinder 1 housing a solenoid in a substantially cylindrical shape, with screw holes 2 and 3 bored in both axial end faces of the metal cylinder 1, and one A lead wire 4 is provided to protrude from the end face of. One end of this metal cylindrical body 1 is fixed to a bracket 7 of the starter body with a screw 6 via two gaskets 5 to maintain liquid tightness. Further, a reciprocating punch 8 that moves forward and backward in the metal cylindrical body 1 faces inside the bracket 7, and is always projected outward by a spring 9. A shift lever 10 is loosely fitted to the tip of the reciprocating punch 8, and the shift lever 10 is connected to a pinion or the like. Further, a cover 11 is attached to the other end surface of the metal cylinder 1 through a screw 13 via a packing 12 which also serves as insulation.
One of the lead wires 4 passes through the cover 11 and protrudes, and a connecting terminal 14 is connected to the tip thereof. Further, the other lead wire 4 is connected to a substantially L-shaped connection terminal 15, and this terminal 1
5 penetrates the cover 11 and protrudes to the outside.

In order to take such a magnetic switch out of a scrapped vehicle and recycle it, the conventional method is to first remove mud and rust from the metal cylinder body 1, cover 11, etc., apply rust prevention, and then improve the appearance by plating or painting. The cover 11 is prepared by applying new gaskets 5 and 12, which have been prepared and cut into predetermined shapes, to both end surfaces.
was fixed and attached to bracket 7 of the starter body. However, in this recycling method, many steps are required for recycling, as mud and rust are thoroughly removed, degreased and rust-prevented, and then plated or painted. Water may enter the inside of the bracket 1, deteriorating the electrical characteristics, and a new gasket 5 must be remade and installed in order to be attached to the bracket 7, which is troublesome and expensive.

The present invention was made in order to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks. After removing some mud and rust from the metal cylinder, a heat shrink tube is placed on the metal cylinder, and then heated so that the heat shrink tube becomes attached to the outer periphery of the metal cylinder. This is a method in which both end faces are brought into close contact with each other so as to cover part or all of them. By using this method, the heat-shrinkable tube can be used as an exterior coating, packing, rust prevention, and insulation, and there are fewer recycling steps, and there is no need for plating or painting, so there is no water intrusion, and installation is easy. It also becomes extremely easy.

The present invention employs the method described above, so that when remanufacturing a magnetic switch that has been used once, the appearance can be improved by simply covering the metal cylinder surrounding the solenoid with a thin heat-shrinkable tube and then heating it. Moreover, it is very easy to work with, and there is no risk of water getting inside due to plating or the like and damaging the electrical characteristics, and the work of mounting it on the bracket is easy. Furthermore, since the film that is folded and adhered to the end face serves as a packing or insulating film, there is no need for additional packing or insulating plates, making assembly easy and reducing the number of parts.
