置において、先端付近に断面が山形の突起を有す
る板状の弾性ブレードを用い、該ブレードの突起
部の稜線をトナー像担持体表面に押圧する構造と
なし、そのブレードのホルダと該トナー像担持体
表面の交角φが未クリーニング側において、0<
φ<π/2であることを特徴とするクリーニング装 置である。

し、該ブレード部材の稜線部のうち該弾性板のホ
ルダーに近い側の稜線部を該像担持体に圧接させ
る様構成され、弾性板の先端部分と該稜線部の圧
接線に於ける像担持体の接平面との交角φが、未
クリーニング側に於て、30゜≧φ≧−20゜であるこ
とを特徴とするクリーニング装置より達成され
る。

レードからの抗力は、一部はブレードの変形応
力と弾性板の曲げ応力により発生するが、多く
の部分は弾性板の引張応力に起因する。この抗
力は第2図示の方式に較べて可成り大きいもの
であり、従つて本発明のクリーニング装置では
トナーの掃き残りは極めてでにくい。
