A sea buoy signal device is attached to a lifebuoy or lifebuoy ring, and when these lifesaving devices are dropped at sea, the signal device automatically activates and emits a distress radio signal.
It is designed to let you know its location by lighting a flashlight.

This type of signal device generally includes a float that constitutes a buoyant body, a waterproof casing that is integrally installed on the top of the float and has a driving unit such as an oscillator and a switch inside, and a waterproof casing that protrudes from the top of the casing. The float is equipped with a radio antenna or a flashlight, and a battery is installed at the bottom of the inside of the float to serve as a power source for the drive unit and to lower the center of gravity.
A weight body is loaded which cooperates with the battery to lower the center of gravity and allow the antenna or ignition light to stand upright on the water.

The requirements for a marine buoy signal device with this type of structure are, of course, that it must be waterproof and shock resistant, as well as ensuring that its top floats upright when dropped on the sea. Therefore,
The most important things are the placement of the battery and weight body within the float, and the associated setting of the center of gravity. In other words, if the top of the signal device is positioned diagonally or lies on its side, the radio wave range of the antenna will vary depending on the direction, or the range will be significantly shortened.
Furthermore, even in the case of a flashlight, the visibility distance is significantly shortened. Of course, if the amount of the weight body is increased, the center of gravity will be lowered by that amount, but the adjustment range is extremely small because the weight will repeatedly rise and fall with every swing of the waves, causing inconvenience.

However, in this type of signal device in which the battery and the weight body are separately loaded inside the float, the center of gravity may shift from the center of buoyancy due to incorrect installation of the weight body into the float or movement after loading. There were many accidents where the traffic lights did not float properly.

This idea was devised in view of the above-mentioned disadvantages, and it is a battery housed in a float of a marine buoy signal device, in which a weight is integrally stored and fixed at the bottom of the battery case. This device is characterized in that the center of gravity of the buoy signal device is set by the battery. One embodiment of this device will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 shows a battery 1 for a marine buoy signal device according to this invention.
A battery body 3 in which groups of 2... are arranged in a stacked manner, and a high specific gravity material such as an iron plate or a lead plate having the same planar shape as the unit cell stacked on the bottom surface of the battery body 3. It is generally composed of a polygonal and plate-shaped weight 4, and an outer case 8 which is a combination of a metal jacket 5, a terminal plate 6, and a bottom plate 7, which cover the outer periphery of the battery body 3 and the weight 4.

By immersing the battery body 3 and the weight 4 in a stacked state in a wax bath, the battery body 3 and the weight 4 are integrated in a stacked manner by the wax layer 9 formed on the outer periphery, and the unit cell 2 and the weight 4 in the lowest layer are immersed in a wax bath. In other words, the battery 1 is constructed by stacking each unit cell 2 and the weight 4, combining them with the lead plate 10, immersing them in a wax bath to integrate them, and then inserting them into a metal jacket 5 provided with the terminal plate 6. The bottom plate 7 is then crimped to the lower opening of the jacket 5 to be integrated, whereby the weight 4 is fixed to the bottom of the battery 1.

Note that the thickness of the weight 4 can be arbitrarily set depending on the center of gravity to be adjusted. Further, it is particularly preferable that the planar shape is quadrangular, since this enables efficient cutting out from the blank plate.

However, in the marine buoy signal device configured as described above, the center of gravity position can be uniquely set simply by storing the battery 1 described above.
When dropped on the sea, it will always float in an upright state, and by setting the relationship between the buoyancy of the float and the center of gravity in advance and determining the amount of weight 4, it will always be in the optimal state. It is highly reliable in the event of an accident.

Furthermore, the weight is integrated with the battery body using wax and is fixed by simply inserting it into the outer case, so it does not move within the battery and can be constructed at low cost.
