Conventionally, in order to prevent dust from adhering to the soles of shoes and entering the room, dust control mats have been placed at the entrances and exits of rooms. One type of dust control mat is one in which the mat is detachably attached to a mat support base, which is easy to wash and recycle because only the mat can be removed and washed or recycled. It is easy to replace mats with recycled mats, including transporting them, and since the mats are supported by a heavy base, they will not move even if you walk on them or rub them with the soles of your shoes. Because of these advantages, it has come to be widely used in shops, restaurants, offices, etc.

In this type of pine, the pile threads of the pine are impregnated with a liquid dust adsorbent (dust-adsorbing oil, etc.), which exhibits excellent dust trapping properties, but there are problems with the migration of the oil onto the floor surface. From the viewpoint of deterioration in texture due to oil impregnation, it is desired to develop pine that does not undergo treatment with such a dust adsorbent and yet has dust trapping properties.

The mat support base 2 is composed of, for example, a frame-shaped peripheral part 6 and a sheet-shaped mat support housing part 4 surrounded by the peripheral part 6. The peripheral part 6 and the mat support housing part 4 are made of an elastomer polymer. It is formed in one piece. Suitable examples of elastomeric polymers include:
Soft vinyl chloride resin, polyurethane, natural rubber,
These include styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR).

In FIG. 2, which shows an enlarged view of the mat used in the present invention, the mat 1 includes a base fabric 7, a pile yarn 8 tufted to the base fabric, and backing 9 applied to fix the pile yarn to the base fabric. The main feature is that this backing 9 is made of synthetic rubber latex mixed with a solid conductive agent, and that this backing 9 forms a bent surface 10 having a larger area than the aforementioned mat support housing section. This is an important feature of the invention.

That is, in the present invention, due to the above-mentioned structural features, even though the mat 1 is insulated from the earth or floor by the base 2 made of an elastomer polymer, there is a large capacitance area on the back surface of the mat. As shown in the example below, excellent static neutralization effect and associated dust control properties are obtained, and since a solid conductive agent is blended into the synthetic rubber latex that makes up the backing, it has excellent washing resistance. It is recognized that it can be obtained.

As synthetic rubber latex for backing,
In addition to the aforementioned SBR and NBR latexes, all latexes used for forming this type of backing, such as chloroprene rubber latex, butyl rubber latex, and urethane rubber latex, can be used.
The amount of the solid conductive agent in the latex varies depending on the desired static elimination effect, but it is preferably 0.05 to 2 parts by weight, particularly 0.1 to 1 part by weight, per 100 parts by weight of solid content of the latex.

To manufacture this mat, pile yarn made of synthetic fiber is tufted onto a base fabric made of woven fabric, non-woven fabric, gauze, etc., and synthetic rubber latex mixed with a solid conductive agent is applied as a backing to the back side. After that, if necessary, the tips of the tufted threads may be trimmed. At this time, by adjusting the amount of latex applied to the base fabric, the tufted portions become mountains, the non-tufted portions become valleys, and the surface of the backing layer becomes a curved surface with a large area. The coating amount of the backing layer is 100 to 1000 g/m 2 as solid content,
In particular, a range of 300 to 700 g/m 2 is desirable for the purposes of the present invention.

Further, the base fabric and the pile yarn may be made of synthetic fibers that have been subjected to conductive treatment, which are known per se, or may be made of untreated synthetic fibers. Nylon fibers, polyester fibers, acrylic fibers, etc. are used as synthetic fibers for pile yarn.
A crimped yarn is particularly desirable in terms of dust-trapping properties. It should be understood that even if the conductive treated fibers are mixed into the pile yarn, the amount thereof may be as small as 0.2 to 2% by weight.

In the mat-base assembly of the present invention, while the mat is insulated from the earth or floor by the mat support base, static electricity from pedestrians walking on the mat is effectively eliminated, and as a result, static electricity does not adhere to footwear or other objects. Dust easily transfers to the pine pile yarn and is collected, and even though it is a so-called dry pine, excellent static neutralization and dust control performance can be obtained.

Furthermore, by placing this mat-base assembly at the entrance of a room, etc., it prevents dust from entering the room, and also effectively removes static electricity when pedestrians are charged by the rug in the room. This effectively prevents electric shocks from coming into contact with door knobs, etc.
