(b) Industrial application field The present invention can be used when the eyeball in the human orbit is lost.
The present invention relates to a device for preventing contraction and hardening of a conjunctival sac or socket in a human orbit, which is installed in the conjunctival sac or socket to prevent its contraction or hardening, or to measure its expansion. (B) Prior art As shown in Fig. 10, the eyeball 10 is floating in the orbit 11, but when the upper and lower eyelids 12 are closed, a sealed space called a conjunctival sac 13 is formed between the eyelids and the eyeball. be done. By the way, when an eyeball is lost due to surgery or trauma caused by a traffic accident, the artificial eye 14 is fitted into the conjunctival sac, but as the conjunctival sac gradually shrinks, the artificial eye that was previously attached becomes relatively large and the conjunctival It won't fit into the sac. In this case, the artificial eye is replaced with a smaller one 15, or a plastic surgery to expand the conjunctival sac or a skin graft is performed to create a space (called a socket) in place of the conjunctival sac. The socket formed by the skin graft has a slightly greater tendency to contract than the conjunctival sac. Traditionally, prosthetic eyes or similar disk-shaped or rugby ball-shaped solid objects have been used to prevent constriction of the conjunctival sac or socket. (c) Problems to be solved by the invention When using a solid object as described above, in order to smoothly and easily insert and remove it into the conjunctival sac or socket, the solid object must be larger than the internal volume of the conjunctival sac or socket. must also be made somewhat smaller. The conjunctival sac or socket then contracts due to the gap between the conjunctival sac or socket and the fitted solid object, requiring the solid object to be replaced with one of smaller size and further shrinking the conjunctival sac or socket. The vicious cycle is repeated. If the solid object is left untreated, it can seal the inside of the conjunctival sac or socket, leading to contamination, suppuration, tissue necrosis, and eventually making it impossible to remove the solid object and requiring a new skin incision in the palpebral fissure. It may happen. The problem is even more serious in the months following conjunctival capsuloplasty or skin graft socket surgery. In other words, for several months after surgery, the sutures and grafted skin may shift, lift, shrink, or
Because deformation is likely to occur, a support called a conformer is fitted into the conjunctival sac or socket for fixation during this period, but this conformer is also made of the aforementioned disk-shaped or rugby ball-shaped solid material, so it cannot be used during surgery. Subsequent removal may become difficult and forceful removal may lead to pain, bleeding, dehiscence of the suture wound, peeling of the grafted skin, and damage. (d) Means and effects for solving the problems The present invention proposes a conjunctival sac or socket shrinkage preventive device that solves the above problems. The diameter of each annular member is graded so that each annular member can be concentrically and removably fitted inside the next larger annular member or outside the next smaller annular member. It was selected as follows. Each annular member (hereinafter referred to as a ring) has an outer circumferential edge formed into a round convex surface and an inner circumferential edge formed into a corresponding round concave surface in order to ensure fitting and prevent accidental disengagement. These rings are used by fitting together one or more rings of the desired size and fitting them into the aforementioned conjunctival sac or socket, but since the rings are elastic, they can be freely deformed. It can be easily fitted into the conjunctival sac or socket, and the fitted ring elastically expands and restores its original shape to counter the contraction forces of the conjunctival sac or socket, effectively blocking its contraction. can do. By varying the number of rings, the resistance to contraction forces of the conjunctival sac or socket can be adjusted. Further, when it is desired to use it as a solid body, a template made of hard synthetic resin or other material can be fitted inside the ring as a core or core. (e) Embodiments The illustrated embodiments will be explained in detail below. 1, 2, 3, and 4 are circular rings of different sizes, and are made of synthetic resin such as silicone resin, which is harmless to the human body. These rings are formed to have desired flexibility and elasticity by appropriately selecting the material and adjusting the hardness. In addition, each of these rings has a convex surface p with a rounded outer periphery.
In addition, the inner peripheral edge is formed into a round concave surface q with a shape that complements the convex surface p, and the inner diameter of ring 1 and the outer diameter of ring 2 are the same as the inner diameter of ring 2 and the outer diameter of ring 3. The inner diameter and the outer diameter of the ring 4 are formed to be substantially equal. Therefore, two or more rings can be fitted in sequence to create rings of different sizes or widths (thickness).

Alternatively, the template may be fitted and placed within the conjunctival sac or socket. Figure 9 shows one ring 1,
2, 3, and 4 are shown attached. In the illustrated embodiment, the ring is circular;
The shape is not necessarily limited to this, and other shapes such as a rectangular shape may be used, and the size and number of the shapes can be freely selected. Further, the template is not limited to the oval shape, but may have other shapes, such as a circle, and a plurality of templates with different shapes may be prepared, and the size and number of templates may be freely determined. (F) Effects This invention has the following superior effects compared to conventional artificial eyes or similar solid objects. a. Shape compatibility The attached ring has appropriate elasticity, so
closely conforms to the shape of the conjunctival sac or socket;
Do not create strong pressure points like solid objects or gaps that may cause shrinkage. b. Free selection of size Since the rings are made up of several large and small rings, it can be used as appropriate for patients ranging from children to adults, conjunctival sacs or sockets of various sizes, and even sockets that are expanding. You can freely select, wear, and replace rings of the appropriate size. c. Stretching and expansion of the conjunctival sac or socket If a slightly larger ring is bent and inserted into the conjunctival sac or socket, the ring opens by its own elasticity and stretches and expands the conjunctival sac or socket. d Increase/decrease and adjust the elasticity By fitting one, two, or three rings, the strength of the elasticity can be adjusted to correspond to the strength of the contractile force of the conjunctival sac or socket. . e.Easy to put on and take off.The ring is thin and flexible, so even if the palpebral fissure is small, the ring can be easily put on and taken off without pain and can be handled with care after surgery. f Remaining open The conjunctival sac or socket is kept open without being sealed during ring placement, so there is no risk of contamination or suppuration, especially in the early stages after conjunctival capsuloplasty or socketoplasty. disinfection and cleaning of wounds;
Ointment application, gauze replacement, etc. can be performed while the ring is in place, and the ring can be worn for a long period of time, so there is no opportunity for conjunctival sac or socket contraction. g. Combined use of ring and prosthetic eye Since it is possible to wear the prosthetic eye while wearing the ring, the patient can continue with treatment to prevent contraction of the conjunctival sac or socket while maintaining mental stability in daily life. Furthermore, if the prosthetic eye is too small, a ring can be fitted into its outer frame. h. Easy to obtain and inexpensive Conventional artificial eyes or similar solid objects had to be molded and adjusted to fit the shape of each individual conjunctival sac or socket, which was time consuming and often expensive; however, the present invention Even though the ring is a standard product, it is well suited to each individual case, so mass production is possible, and it is easy to obtain and inexpensive. i Adjustment of the size of artificial eyes and other solid objects In addition, depending on the case, if it is desirable to use solid objects for correcting or enlarging the shape of the socket,
The size can be adjusted by fitting a ring into the outer frame of the artificial eye or templates 5 and 6.
