The present invention provides ortho- or para-phenoxy(3,
3,3-trifluoropropyl)benzene. 3,3,3-Trifluoropropylated aromatic compounds are important substances as insulating materials and as intermediates in organic synthesis. Conventionally, only 3,3,3-trifluoropropylated aromatic compounds have been synthesized.
A method for obtaining 3,3,3-trifluoropropylbenzene by reacting 3,3-trifluoropropyl ether (CF 3 CH 2 CH 2 ) 2 O with benzene in the presence of HF (USP 3080428) has been proposed. It's just that. However, this method has drawbacks such as the production of water during the reaction, which reduces the activity of the catalyst in the reaction system, and also makes it difficult to recover the catalyst. Furthermore, in order to synthesize 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl ether as a raw material, HF,
It is necessary to react formalin (or its polymer) and vinylidene fluoride. Therefore, in this method, expensive raw materials such as vinylidene fluoride are used, and 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl ether is also expensive because the reaction yield is as low as 50 to 60%. The present inventors synthesized an aromatic compound having 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl by reacting 3,3,3-trifluoropropene, which is an industrial raw material, with an aromatic compound in the presence of an acid catalyst. We have developed a method and filed an application first. (Refer to Japanese Patent Application No. 21094 of 1980, etc.) The object of the present invention is to

1-Phenoxy-2-(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl), which is the ortho form of phenoxy-(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)benzene represented by [Formula]
Benzene and para-1-phenoxy-4-
(3',3',3'-trifluoropropyl)benzene. Phenoxy-(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)benzene is obtained by reacting diphenyl ether and 3,3,3-trifluoropropene in the presence of an acid catalyst, and further purification yields the ortho form. The present invention was achieved by discovering that the para- and para-isomers can be obtained. Acid catalysts used in the reaction include HF, BF 3, etc., and when using equimolar amounts of 3,3,3-trifluoropropene to diphenyl ether, the amount of catalyst used is 3,3,3-trifluoropropene based on the raw material biphenyl ether.
It is preferable to use 0.5 equivalent or more. The reaction temperature is preferably 0 to 120°C for BF3 , and 50°C for HF.
The preferred range is ~150°C. Reaction time is usually
0.5-30 hours. After the reaction is completed, the catalyst is removed and the reaction mixture is subjected to precision distillation to obtain ortho and para fractions. Since the para-isomer fraction crystallizes, it can be further purified by recrystallization. The ortho- or para-phenoxy(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)benzene of the present invention can be used alone or as a mixture of isomers as an insulating oil, or can be used in combination with other insulating oils. It is also possible to do so. On the other hand, it can also be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. The present invention will be described in detail below based on Examples, but the present invention is not limited only to the Examples below. Example 1 340 g (2.0 mol) of biphenyl ether and 3,3,3 were placed in a stainless steel autoclave with a capacity of 1.
- 192 g (2.0 mol) of trifluoropropene was charged. Further, at room temperature, boron trifluoride was added at an internal pressure of 55
It was press-fitted until it reached Kg/cm 2 ·G and reacted at a temperature of 50°C for 20 hours. After the reaction is complete, the remaining gas in the autoclave is purged, and the contents are washed with water and washed in the usual manner.
After drying, 505 g of a reaction mixture was obtained. The resulting reaction mixture was distilled under reduced pressure to obtain a fraction with a boiling point of 103°C/2mmHg. The obtained fraction was found to be 1-phenoxy-2-(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)benzene with a purity of 99% or more based on the analysis results and gas chromatography shown below. (A) Infrared absorption spectrum The infrared absorption spectrum is shown in Figure 1. (B) Mass spectrometry (20eV) m/e = 266 mass spectrum is shown in Figure 2. - 192 g (2.0 mol) of trifluoropropene was charged. Further, boron trifluoride was press-fitted at room temperature until the internal pressure reached 55Kg/ cm2・G, and at a temperature of 50℃.
The reaction was allowed to proceed for 20 hours. After the reaction was completed, residual gas in the autoclave was purged, and the contents were then washed with water and dried in a conventional manner to obtain 505 g of a reaction mixture.
