However, conventional coating equipment has the risk of causing a dust explosion (ignition). This is because the discharge current when charging the paint powder is large, ranging from several tens of μA to several hundred μA, and sparks are generated in the atmosphere.

It has a structure that suppresses the discharge current value to a small value, and aims to prevent dust explosions without generating sparks in the atmosphere.

Powder P placed on the perforated plate 4 by sending dry air under pressure
floating and flowing in the chamber 10 while being electrically charged,
The powder P is ejected from the blowhole 9 and is attached to the object W to be coated, which has been given an opposite electric charge to that of the powder P in advance.
1 absorbs air and collects excess powder P, and the electrode plate 5 is built in the perforated plate 4 on which the powder P is placed and through which dry air passes.
A sufficient charging effect is achieved with a small discharge current value of 2 μA or less, which is one or two orders of magnitude lower than conventional devices. Furthermore, by controlling the temperature of the dry air, dew condensation on the surface of the powder P caused by the temperature difference with the atmosphere is eliminated, moisture absorption of the powder P is prevented, and the powder P
It is possible to improve the charging property of the paint and the adhesion to the object W to be coated.

This embodiment differs from the embodiment in that the electrode plate 5 is fixed in contact with the lower surface of the porous plate 4. Also the third
The figure shows a third embodiment of the present invention, which is equipped with a level sensor 12 for detecting the accumulation level of powder P, and insulating shielding plates 13 and 14 for preventing discharge to the level sensor 12. Both embodiments are characterized in that they can be coated with a small discharge current value, similar to the apparatus of the first embodiment.

As explained above, the electrostatic powder coating apparatus of the present invention is such that the electrode plate is disposed close to the powder and in contact with the inside or underside of the porous plate that serves as a path for dry air, and the discharge current is small. This makes it possible to charge the powder with electricity, and it is possible to finish a clean electrostatic coating without generating sparks in the atmosphere, eliminating the risk of dust explosion.
