Conventionally, in balls for this type of use, sections of various designs are provided in the skin material, but in most cases a single leather panel cut into sections is attached by hand. As the design became more complex, the number of cut pieces increased, and the leather pasting process involved multiple inefficient processes (cutting, printing, crisscrossing, leather pasting, etc.).
In addition, since the substrate to which the leather is applied is spherical, it is better to make the cut pieces into small pieces so that they fit in well with the substrate, making it unavoidable to cut the leather panels into individual sections of the design.

Therefore, the method for which the present applicant previously applied for a patent (Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-21428) is a method in which single rows A, B, C, D, and E are used as shown in Figures 3 to 5 and Figure 10. The skin material is cut into two or more sections of leather panels 4, 5, and an inclined thin section (commonly known as fuchisogi) is formed on the back side of the section boundary of the leather panels 4, 5 cut in this way. As expected, a significant improvement in productivity and simplification of work were achieved by forming a rim (referred to as a rim) 6 and forming a rim 7 on the periphery as usual and then attaching it to the ball base. However, this method was inferior to the conventional method in terms of expressing clear partition lines in the three-dimensional appearance of the boundary between continuous panels, and was inferior in this respect.

3 to 10 show embodiments of the present invention, in which two rows of single rows such as A, B, C, D, and E are shown.
The skin material is cut into leather panels 4, 5 consisting of more than one section, and a sloping thin edge 6 is provided on the surface of the section boundary of the thus cut leather panels 4, 5, and a thin slanted edge 6 is provided on the periphery. A common rim 7 is provided. However, after or before the process of processing the fuchisoggi 6 and fuchisokogi 7, the division boundary line 8
A step is added to form a V-shaped dividing line with a steeper angle than the groove formed by the rim 6 by applying pressure to the heated stamp along the edges, giving the boundary line a three-dimensional appearance. Paste it on 2. At this time, since the leather panels 4 and 5 are pressed from the front side, the surfaces opposite to the edges 6 and 7 are depressed, and as a result, a groove is formed at the boundary between the leather panels 4 and 5 as shown in the figure.

Therefore, as one method to improve this defect, as shown in FIG. 6, after providing the edges 6 and 7 on the back side of the leather panel 4, the surface of the panel facing the groove formed by the edges 6, that is, in FIG. Pressure is applied from the panel surface along the compartment boundary line 8 as shown for 0.6 to 1.2 seconds with a metal stamp with a triangular cross section heated to 160 to 190°C, or high frequency heating is applied for 0.5 seconds at an output of 0.4 to 0.8 mA.
By applying pressure for ~1.0 seconds, a continuous plurality of leather panels (2 to 4 pieces) with an excellent three-dimensional effect and having partition lines 9a having a V-shaped cross section and having a steeper angle than the grooves formed by the fuchisoggi 6 are made. was completed. The cross-sectional thickness t of the thin part of the partition line 9a is 0.3 to 0.4 mm.
It was possible to process it to a thickness of .

Here, the leather panel according to the present invention has a minimum unit that covers two sections, and the 10th
The section F shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure has a three-section shape in which it is connected to two sections (for example, C and D) constituting the minimum unit, that is, a structure in which the groove formed by the grommet 6 includes a branch (the To explain with reference to Figure 10, the first groove between CDs, the second groove between DF, CF
A structure including intersecting grooves with a third groove in between is unsuitable. This is because, when such a three-compartment shape is adhered to the spherical surface of the ball base 2, wrinkles cannot be prevented from forming in the groove portion of the partition line (common side of the partitions). Therefore, when creating a leather panel with the above three-compartment shape, a notch is provided between compartments C and F as shown by the two-dot chain line in Fig. 10, and a single line (between CD and It must be a single continuous line consisting of grooves, grooves between DF, and grooves between DE. As described above, in the present invention, the groove formed in the back surface portion corresponding to the boundary line of a plurality of adjacent design sections is composed of a single line without branches.

Note that natural leather or synthetic leather is mainly used as the material for the leather panel used in this embodiment. The ball base 2 has a conventionally known structure, such as one made of a laminate of a tube, a thread-wound reinforcing layer, and a rubber middle layer, or one made of a single layer of an elastic material such as rubber.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a plurality of design sections can be covered with a single leather panel, and a groove is formed at the boundary line of each design section, and furthermore, a groove is formed in the boundary line of each design section. Since the partition line is deep and has a V-shaped cross section with a steep angle, it is possible to form a groove with a three-dimensional effect similar to the groove formed at the joint of a leather panel.

Further, according to the present invention, since there is an inclined groove on the back side of the division boundary line of the leather panel, even a continuous groove can easily fit into a spherical surface. In particular, the V-shaped section line formed in this groove absorbs such deformation, so it is possible to suppress the generation of wrinkles after bonding.

Furthermore, according to the present invention, since multiple sections are covered with non-stretchable leather panels such as synthetic leather or natural leather, the surface area of the ball base covered with one leather panel increases, and the leather panels are bonded. The section will also be shorter. Therefore, it has the effect of suppressing expansion and deformation of the ball base, suppressing the occurrence of gaps at the joints of leather panels, and reducing the occurrence of accidents such as punctures.
The durability of the ball can be improved. Furthermore, by making the leather panel joints shorter than conventional balls, it is possible to minimize steps, gaps, overlaps, etc. that occur at the joints when arranging the leather panels. The incidence of defects such as peeling, moisture absorption, and discoloration can be reduced.

Further, according to the present invention, trademarks, designs, character symbols, etc. can be printed in advance on the surface of each section of a single leather panel in a manner that is related to each other.
Furthermore, since the leather panel itself has a special shape that combines multiple sections, accidents such as arranging the leather panels in the wrong position when arranging them in the mold can be prevented. In other words, conventionally, leather panels were attached to balls by cutting the leather panels into the same shape for each section and arranging them in a mold while turning them upside down. In addition, since the leather panels have a simple shape, there have been accidents in which the leather panels have been misplaced, but as mentioned above, such accidents will no longer occur. Further, when printing is performed over two sections, it is convenient that the adjacent sections can already be printed in a fixed manner on the cut piece.
