(Prior art) Recently, a joining technology called metal flow (plastic flow joining method), which utilizes the plastic flow of metal materials, has been developed as a means of joining parts such as automobile parts. It is becoming widespread because it is possible to obtain a certain degree of joint strength and is advantageous for joining parts that are difficult to weld. For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 144758/1983 discloses a method for manufacturing a rotor for a magnet generator using this plastic flow bonding method. This method relates to a plastic joining method for sheet metal members, in which a joining hole is formed in a flywheel yoke as a sheet metal member, and a joining hole is formed on the outer periphery of a boss attached to a drive shaft in the circumferential direction of the boss. forming an extending groove;
The boss part as the object to be joined is fitted into the joining hole of the flywheel yoke, and the area near the peripheral wall of the joining hole is pressurized with a punch from the thickness direction of the flywheel yoke, and the peripheral wall of the joining hole is pressed. By plastically deforming the nearby part, a part of the metal material constituting the flywheel yoke is made to plastically flow so as to bulge toward the inner diameter direction of the joint hole, and it bites into the groove formed in the boss part. This is to achieve a plastic bond between the flywheel yoke and the boss.

By the way, in the conventional plastic joining method of sheet metal members, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the object 3 to be joined is fitted into the joining hole 2 of the sheet metal member 1, and the part near the peripheral wall of the joining hole 2 is When pressurized from the thickness direction of the sheet metal member 1 with a punch, a part of the metal material constituting the sheet metal member 1 bulges in the direction of the inner diameter of the joint hole 2 and into the groove 4. As a result, the metal material constituting the peripheral edge of the coupling hole 2 of the sheet metal member 1 decreases accordingly, and the pressurized area near the peripheral wall pressurized by the punch decreases in thickness of the sheet metal member 1. A recess 5 is formed by recessing in the direction.

When the sheet metal member 1 has a large thickness t,
Since the depth h of this recess 5 is relatively small, the thickness t' of the pressurized part in the plate thickness direction does not matter so much, but when the plate thickness t of the sheet metal member 1 is small, Since the depth h of the recess 5 becomes relatively large, the thickness t' of this pressurized part in the plate thickness direction becomes a problem. The thickness t' of the pressure part becomes thinner, and in the conventional plastic bonding method of sheet metal members, the thickness t of the sheet metal member 1 becomes thinner.
The thinner the sheet metal member 1 is, the more stress will be concentrated on the pressurized portion of the sheet metal member 1, making it impossible to ensure sufficient bonding strength with the object to be bonded.

(Structure of the Invention) In order to achieve the above object, the present invention includes bending the peripheral edge of a hole formed in a sheet metal member to form an excess portion protruding in the thickness direction of the sheet metal member. Next, the surplus portion is shaped to enlarge the diameter of the hole as a connection hole for the object to be connected, which has a metal material penetration groove formed on the outer periphery, and the peripheral edge of the connection hole. The pressurized part is formed so that the thickness of the sheet metal member is thicker than the thickness of other constituent parts of the sheet metal member, and then the object to be joined is placed in the joining hole, and the object to be joined is inserted into the joining hole. The metal material entry groove faces the inner periphery of the joining hole, and the pressurized part is pressurized so that the metal material of the pressurized part bites into the metal material entry groove of the object to be joined. This is a method for plastically joining sheet metal members, characterized by causing plastic deformation to occur.

With the above-mentioned configuration, even if the peripheral edge of the hole formed in the sheet metal member is bent to form a rough surplus part, the surplus part is shaped and the joint hole part is formed with the part to be processed. As a result, in the processed part, the amount of metal material in the metal material penetration groove of the object to be joined is secured as an extra amount of protrusion in the plate thickness direction, and the object to be joined can be fitted in the joining hole. Become. Then, when the pressurized portion of the sheet metal member is pressurized to plastically deform the portion near the peripheral wall of the joining hole portion into the metal material penetration groove of the object to be joined, the portion near the peripheral wall of the joining hole portion of the sheet metal member is The portion of the constituent metal material that bulges in the direction of the inner diameter of the joint hole is compensated for by the amount of protrusion in the thickness direction of the pressurized part. This means that the thickness of the sheet metal member can be prevented from becoming thinner than the sheet metal member. Therefore, stress can be prevented from concentrating on the pressurized portion, and even if the sheet metal member is thin, sufficient bonding strength can be ensured.

In FIG. 3, reference numeral 6 denotes a sheet metal member, and the sheet metal member 6 here has a disk shape and is used as a clutch plate constituting a clutch component of an automobile. A hole 7 is previously formed in the center of the sheet metal member 6 by punching means such as a press. This hole 7 is formed to have a slightly smaller diameter than the inner diameter of a joining hole, which will be described later, and the thick part of the sheet metal member 6 that forms this hole 7 is punched and bent in the thickness direction of the sheet metal member 6. As a result, a cylindrical extra wall portion 8 protruding in the thickness direction of the sheet metal member 6 is formed. In order to adjust the shape of this excess portion 8, it is shaped into a predetermined shape as shown by the broken line in FIG. 3, and a cutting means is used for this shaping. The extra thickness 8 is shaped and forms the peripheral wall of the coupling hole. As shown in FIG. A pressurized portion 9 as a peripheral wall portion and a coupling hole portion 10 are formed. The inner diameter of the coupling hole 10 is set to a size that allows a bonding object, which will be described later, to fit therein without difficulty.
The pressurized part 9 is shaped so as to protrude in the thickness direction of the sheet metal member 6. The protruding thickness of the pressurized part 9 in the thickness direction is indicated by the symbol h', and the protruding part is denoted by h'. It is indicated by reference numeral 11. In the coupling hole 10 of the sheet metal member 6,
After the shaping process, the engaging member 12 is fitted, and here, the connecting member 12 is a shaft that constitutes a clutch component of an automobile. As shown in FIG. 5, an intrusion groove 13 into which the metal material constituting the sheet metal member 6 enters is formed in the outer circumference of the coupling member 12 in the circumferential direction thereof. The length in the axial direction of the portion where this penetration groove 13 is formed is "l", and the plate thickness of the sheet metal member 6 is t.
The length is approximately the same as that of the 100 mm, so that the strength of the bond can be maximized during plastic bonding.
The penetration groove 13 has a triangular cross section, and the sheet metal member 6 is set in a press machine after the object 12 to be joined is fitted into the joining hole 10, as shown in FIG. , 14 and 15 are holding members for the sheet metal member 6, and the sheet metal member 6 is fixed so as not to move during pressurization. After the sheet metal member 6 is set, a cylindrical punch 16 is inserted into the sheet metal member 6.
The punch 16 is provided at a position corresponding to the pressurized part 9, and by driving this punch 16 in the direction of arrow A, the pressurized part 9 is pressed against the sheet metal member 6. When pressure is applied from the thickness direction of the plate, the metal material constituting the pressurized part 9 undergoes plastic flow deformation.
The metal material bulges in the direction of the minimum principal stress, that is, the inner diameter direction of the coupling hole 10 and the direction in which the penetration groove 13 exists, and the bulged metal material bites into the entire circumference of the penetration groove 13. As shown in FIG. 6, plastic bonding between the sheet metal member 6 and the object 12 to be bonded is realized. At that time, the protrusion 11 is
A part of the metal material constituting the pressurized part 9 forms the penetration groove 1.
3, the amount of protrusion decreases. Here, the amount of protrusion of the protruding portion 11 is determined so that the surface of the sheet metal member 6 becomes flat when the plastic bonding between the sheet metal member 6 and the object to be bonded is completed. It is also possible to configure the projecting portion 11 to remain slightly when the plastic bonding with the object 12 is completed. Note that if the bonding object 12 is knurled, it is possible to obtain an even greater bonding strength.
