The present invention relates to a radiation-resistant film. Conventionally, biaxially oriented polypropylene film (hereinafter referred to as
(abbreviated as OPP film) has strength, stiffness,
It is widely used as a variety of packaging materials because it has high impact resistance, good transparency, and excellent moisture resistance. However, among various packages, those that require sterilization, such as medical instruments such as syringes and foods, have recently been sterilized by gamma ray irradiation, but when OPP film is used for these packages, OPP film cannot be used as packaging material for radiation sterilization because γ-ray irradiation of about 2.5 megarads, which is usually considered as a guideline for sterilization, causes significant decomposition and deterioration of OPP film, reducing its mechanical strength. Ta. Therefore, we have considered making OPP film radiation resistant, but in order to make it radiation resistant, various problems may occur during film formation due to the large amount of additives added to the resin. Since the quality deteriorates due to plate-out of additives, resin lot control, film forming process control, film lot control, etc. are complicated, resulting in poor workability and high manufacturing costs. The present invention was made for the purpose of solving the above-mentioned problems regarding radiation-resistant OPP films. ) hindered phenol compounds, each from 0.1 to
The object of the present invention is to provide a radiation-resistant film formed by laminating a polyolefin layer containing 1% by weight and a biaxially oriented polypropylene film. The hindered amine compound used in the present invention preferably has a low molecular weight of 500 or less, such as bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate, Gutudrite-3034 (trade name, (manufactured by Gutsudoritsu Kagaku Co., Ltd.), Hoechst TMN20 (trade name, manufactured by Hoechst Co., Ltd.), UV-
3457 (product name, manufactured by American Cyanamide Company),
Tetrakis (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4
-piperidyl)-1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylate. High molecular weight hindered amine compounds are not preferred because they make it difficult to transfer from the polyolefin layer to the OPP film, which will be described later. The organic phosphorus compounds used in the present invention include organic phosphites, such as 1,1,3-tris(2-methyl-4-ditridecylphosphite-5-t-butyl)butane, 4,4-butylidene-bis (3-methyl-6-t-butylphenyl-
ditridecyl) phosphite, tris(2,4-
di-t-butylphenyl) phosphite, or an organic phosphonite, such as tetrakis(2,4-
Examples include di-t-butylphenyl) 4,4'-biphenylene diphosphonite. Examples of hindered phenol compounds used in the present invention include 1,3,5-tris (3-
Hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-4-t-butylbenzyl)isocyanurate, 1,3,5-trimethyl-2,4,6-tris(3,5-di-t-
butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)benzene,
2,6-di-t-butyl-p-cresol, 4,
4'-thiobis-(6-t-butyl-m-cresol), tetrakis[methylene-3-(3,5-di-
t-Butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate] methane, stearyl-β-(3,5-
di-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate, 1,1,3-tris(2-methyl-4-
hydroxy-5-t-butylphenyl)butane,
Examples include tris(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)isocyanurate. In addition, if necessary, thioesters,
For example, distearylthiodipropionate, dilaurylthiodipropionate, tetrakis-(methylene-3-dodecylthiopropionate)methane, dimyristylthiodipropionate, etc. may be added. The polyolefin used in the present invention includes:
For example, high density, medium density and low density polyethylene, linear low density polyethylene, polypropylene,
Examples include polybutene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, ethylene-butene copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-propylene rubber, ethylene-butene rubber, and mixtures thereof. A polyolefin layer containing a hindered amine compound, an organic phosphorus compound, and/or a hindered phenol compound is formed by adding a radiation resistance imparting agent such as the aforementioned hindered amine compound, organic phosphorus compound, or hindered phenol compound to the polyolefin. It is a film or sheet-like material made by adding and mixing uniformly. Further, the method of mixing the radiation resistance imparting agent is not particularly limited, and any known method can be applied. For example, there is a method in which a radiation resistance imparting agent is added to polyolefin powder or pellets, the mixture is premixed, and then melted and kneaded at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the polyolefin to form a film or sheet. In this case, the amounts of the hindered amine compound, organic phosphorus compound, and hindered phenol compound are each
0.1-1% by weight, particularly preferably 0.2-0.5% by weight
It is. If the amount added is less than 0.1% by weight, the radiation resistance imparting agent transfers little from the polyolefin layer to the OPP film when integrated with the OPP film, and the radiation resistance of the OPP film is not improved.
On the other hand, if the amount added exceeds 1.0% by weight, the film will be colored, and the radiation resistance imparting agent will migrate too much, resulting in a decrease in interlayer adhesive strength in the lamination of the polyolefin layer and OPP film, and the additive may be transferred to the plate. Because of this, blocking occurs on the film, which is undesirable. In addition, when adding the radiation resistance imparting agent, a neutralizing agent, a lubricant, an antistatic agent, an antiblocking agent, a nucleating agent, etc. can be added as necessary. The OPP film used in the present invention usually has a thickness of 5 to 100 μm, and a typical example of the base polypropylene is crystalline homopolypropylene, but as long as the biaxial stretching effect can be achieved, Alternatively, it may be a copolymer of propylene and a small amount of other olefin as long as it is crystalline. Next, as a method for laminating and integrating a polyolefin layer containing a radiation resistance imparting agent and an OPP film, for example, a polyolefin composition containing a radiation resistance imparting agent is extruded onto an OPP film at a temperature of 260 to 330.
℃ extrusion coating method, polyolefin film or sheet containing radiation resistance imparting agent
OPP film and adhesive, such as urethane,
Examples include a method of dry laminating using titanate-based materials. Moreover, lamination can be performed in any combination. The thickness of the laminated film is generally preferably 5 to 50 microns. The obtained laminated film is preferably aged for 6 hours or more in an atmosphere with a temperature of 30° C. or higher and a humidity of about 40% in order to promote the transfer of the radiation resistance imparting agent contained in the polyolefin layer to the OPP film. As described above, the radiation-resistant film of the present invention has OPP radiation resistance imparting agent contained in the polyolefin layer.
The transition to film improves the radiation resistance of OPP film. Therefore, it does not deteriorate even when used as a packaging material for radiation sterilization, and is suitable as a packaging material that has the characteristics of OPP film. In addition, since the OPP film is generally commercially available, the production cost is low. Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples. In addition, % in Examples indicates weight, and the evaluation method of film physical properties is as follows. Falling ball impact strength A ball weighing 173 g is dropped from a height of 1090 mm onto a film surface held by a clamp ring with a diameter of 127 mm. The time it takes for the ball to fall 300 mm from the film surface is measured, and the energy required for membrane rupture is calculated from this value. (Falling ball impact strength) was calculated. Example Crystalline propylene-ethylene copolymer (ethylene content = 3%, melt flow index =
30g/10 minutes) were added with a hindered amine compound, an organic phosphorus compound, and a hindered phenol compound in the proportions shown in Table 1, and then
0.03% distearyl thiodipropionate and 0.05% calcium stearate were respectively added and premixed, followed by melt kneading to obtain a composition. This composition was extrusion coated onto an OPP film to obtain a laminated film. This laminated film was aged for 24 hours in an atmosphere of 50°C and 40% humidity.
This laminated film was irradiated with gamma rays using a cobalt-60 radiation source, and its physical properties were then measured. The results are shown in Table 1.
