DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for imparting flexibility to towel fabric and giving it a soft and voluminous texture. More specifically, in the finishing process of terry cloth, by applying a certain type of vibration to the terry cloth after impregnating it with an appropriate amount of moisture, the towel cloth is able to absorb the elongation stress applied during weaving. Going back further, it relates to a method and device for releasing the tensile stress in the yarn itself and changing the texture of the towel fabric as a whole into a soft texture. It seems to have been empirically known that this effect is produced, but it is not clear exactly what principle causes such an effect, nor is the specific technology. However, it was not effective in other cases, and it was a completely unknown field as to how this could be done industrially.

(Prior art) Conventionally, there is no solid literature on this type of technology, and when washing fabrics, the method used was to hit them or step on them with feet, which removes dirt and at the same time softens the fabrics. It is said to be effective. However, with such primitive means, it is inevitable that the fabric will be partially damaged and unevenness will occur.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) As a means of imparting flexibility to toweling,
We will clarify whether or not performing movements such as hitting or stepping on towel cloth has the effect of creating a soft texture, and then whether or not it can be used in industrial production, and if so, how. Issues include whether specific methods and equipment are suitable.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to sequentially solve the above-mentioned problems, the inventors of the present application conducted various trial and error experiments, and as a result of having obtained the following knowledge, they have developed the present invention. It developed. In general, during the weaving process, strong tension is applied to the warp threads of fabrics, making the fabric as a whole stiff.
For example, even after the glue on the warp threads has been washed off, the stiffness of the fabric remains, and on the other hand, the weft threads are also stiff due to the tension applied many times in the drafting and twisting processes during the spinning process. It is.

Various experiments have been conducted to find ways to release the stiffness caused by tension found in yarns and fabrics, such as the beating action of cotton fibers in a cotton mixing machine during the spinning process.
Beating the towel fabric unnecessarily damages the loops of the towel and does not result in a softening effect of the ground yarn or fabric. However, it has been found that by alternately beating both sides of the toweling cloth hanging in the warp direction with bars perpendicular to the warp direction of the cloth, excellent flexibility can be imparted to the toweling cloth. At this time, I learned that the towel fabric should not be tensed, that it is better to soak it with some moisture, and that it is necessary to select a beating bar that will not damage the pile.

The moisture content is in the range of 20 to 100%, and should be selected depending on the type of toweling, and the vibration frequency should be adjusted per meter while the fabric passes through the beating zone.
It is preferable to give the beating 100 to 250 times, and this can also be given in two parts. Figure 1 shows an example of industrial production equipment.
is a 4-blade beater with a capacity of 200 to 1000 rpm, and has two sets of upper and lower beaters that control the speed of the towel passing through this vibration zone by 10 m to 100 m/min.
The vibration can be adjusted over a wide range by changing the number of beats and the intensity depending on the properties of the towel cloth. As for the strength of the beating, the biting depth of the blades 5 of the pair of beaters 2, 2' can be adjusted to be shallow or deep. For humidification, a humidifier 12 is provided before and after the feed rollers 10, 10' or the guide roller 9, but the bosses 4 of the beaters 2, 2' are machined so that the steam or water sent through the pipe 14 is passed through a large number of small holes 13. Alternatively, a method may be used to supply moisture to the toweling material by ejecting water from the terry cloth. A slit is provided in the pipe in the boss 4 so that steam or the like is spewed out only when the small hole 13 faces toward the towel cloth.

(Function) The present invention uses the above-mentioned device to beat the towel fabric from both sides, gives it vibration, gives fine vibrations to the entire fabric, loosens the stress inherent in the threads and fabric structure, and improves the quality of the fabric. It gives a soft texture to the whole, and at the same time, according to the results of the experiment, the phenomenon that all the loops on the surface of the towel stand up on the woven surface may be due to the force exerted outward from the woven surface due to vibration. The loops that had been lying on the woven surface during the washing and drying processes up until now stand up like mushrooms, creating a towel with a sense of volume, and the partial cracks (called craters) that occur on the woven surface. ) was also found to disappear.

Figure 1 shows a case where a beating zone is added in the middle of a series of finishing processes, such as washing, drying, brushing, etc., and two sets of beater devices 2, 2' and 3, 3' are used. are provided vertically at appropriate intervals, while the lower feed roller 1
The amount of dough that is present between 0 and 10' and the upper feed rollers 11 and 11' is adjusted so that extra length is always stored by the amount that vibrates from side to side. The amount supplied to the zone and the amount delivered from the beating zone by the delivery roller are kept equal. Thus, while in the beating zone, the toweling is beaten on both sides by the beater and placed in a vibrating state for a predetermined period of time. In Figure 1, vibrations are applied at two locations. The beater device that generates vibrations is not limited to what is illustrated. Further, although a single set of beater devices may be used, it is preferable that the beater device generate various vibrations such as strength and weakness and amplitude, depending on the properties of the fabric.

(Example) An example of implementing the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings.
In FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, 1 is a towel cloth, which is subjected to a beating action by two sets of beaters 2, 2' and 3, 3'. 2, 2', 3, and 3' are each a pair of beaters, the details of which are shown in Figure 2. In the illustrated example, four blades 5 protrude in all directions from a boss portion 4, and a round bar 6 is attached to the tips of the blades. The pair of beaters is constructed such that one blade faces the other blade and a gap 7 which is an intermediate portion between the blades, and the round rod 6 is made longer than the width of the towel cloth, and is usually made of stainless steel. The number of beaters is not limited to two sets, and the number of beater blades is not limited to four. 8 in Figure 1 is the drum of the dryer, 9 is the guide roller, 1
0 and 10' are feed rollers, 11 and 11' are delivery rollers, and a vibration zone 20 is located between the feed roller and the delivery roller. The towel cloth 1 advances from the bottom to the top as shown by the arrow. The beater rotates in the direction of the arrow or vice versa. Further, it is convenient to configure the device so that the distance between the pair of beaters 2 and 2' can be adjusted to be wider or narrower. As an adjustment mechanism, a bracket (not shown) of the beaters 2, 2', etc. may be made movable, or the length of the blade may be made adjustable. Lower beater 2, 2' and upper beater 3,
A suitable distance is provided between the upper beaters 3, 3' and the delivery rollers 11, 11'. This is so that the vibrations 15, 15' applied to the toweling material last for an appropriate period of time.

Next, it is effective to moisturize the toweling,
For this reason, the dryer may be adjusted so that it is sent to the vibration zone in a dry state, or, in order to supply a large amount of moisture, for example, a sprayer or high frequency humidifier 12 may be installed before and after the guide roller 9. It's convenient. In addition, the boss 4 of the beater is made hollow, and a small hole 18 is provided in it, so that steam (or water) can be
It is also possible to connect the pipe 14 (FIG. 3) and supply moisture to the towel fabric through the small hole.

As mentioned above, the present invention can obtain the above-mentioned effects by adding a beater device humidifier and installing a vibration zone at an appropriate position in the finishing process of toweling fabric to impart vibration to the fabric. It is possible. For example, if towel fabric 1 with a moisture content of 70% is beated 100 times per meter using beaters 2 and 2' and 80 times per meter using beaters 3 and 3', the flexibility will increase and the loops will become woven. An excellent terry cloth that stood up on the surface and increased the volume and had no craters on the woven surface was obtained.
