DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a heat-sensitive recording sheet having extremely excellent color development sensitivity. Thermal recording sheets print characters and characters using thermal energy.
It allows images such as figures to appear on a recording sheet, and has recently come to be used in fields such as various printer recorders and facsimile machines. There are various heat-sensitive recording methods, but from the viewpoint of image clarity, resolution, image tone, etc., we use a color-forming lactone compound, such as crystal violet lactone, which is a dye precursor, and an acidic substance that develops the color. The method used is the mainstay. In this method, a phenol compound such as bisphenol A, which is solid at room temperature but melts and liquefies when heated and acts as an acid component, is conventionally used as an acidic substance. At this time, the heat-sensitive material is required to have high whiteness and to be resistant to decrease in whiteness even during storage. Usually, in order to obtain vivid color development, it is necessary to maintain the temperature at around 140 to 150°C for a certain period of time. Therefore, various approaches have been widely researched and reported in order to develop colors faster and more easily and vividly. For example, JP-A-53-5636
Please refer to the following published patent publications: JP-A-53-11036, JP-A-53-26139, and JP-A-53-39139. However, the measures described in these publications are
Although the color development sensitivity was improved, it was still not satisfactory. In view of this situation, the inventors of the present invention have conducted various studies and found a compound that is significantly more effective in improving color development sensitivity than conventional sensitizers and has good storage stability, and has accomplished the present invention. be. That is, the present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording sheet that is heat-sensitively colored with a color-forming lactone compound and an acidic substance, in which the general formula (In the formula, R 1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms.) and the general formula (In the formula, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms.) The present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording sheet containing one or more of the following esters. The heat-sensitive recording sheet of the present invention has extremely excellent color development sensitivity and also has excellent storage stability. Although the reason for this is not clear, it can be inferred as follows. The specific ester used as a sensitizer in the present invention is a type of carboxylic acid ester, and does not have any effect at room temperature, but acidic substances such as bisphenol A that are melted and liquefied by heating react with crystal violet lactone. Hydrolyzes the above esters more quickly than
The resulting carboxylic acid then promotes ring-opening of crystal violet lactone, and as a result, color development is thought to be significantly accelerated. As the sensitizer used in the heat-sensitive recording sheet of the present invention, any of the esters represented by the above general formula and can be used. Among them, in the ester of the general formula, R 1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, especially It is preferably a methyl group, and in the ester of the general formula, R 2 is preferably a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, particularly a hydrogen atom.
Specific examples thereof include 2-naphthoic acid-o-methylphenyl ester and 2-naphthoic acid-1-naphthyl ester. Next, as a color-forming lactone compound, for example, 3,3-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl)
Phthalide, 3,3-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl)-6-dimethylaminophthalide (also known as crystal violet lactone), 3,3-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl)-6-aminophthalide, 3, 3-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl)-6-nitrophthalide, 3,3-bis(p-

6-Methyl-7-anilinofluorane, 3-(N
-ethyl-p-toluidino)-7-(N-methylanilino)fluoran phthalides such as
Examples include lactams such as rhodamine B lactam, spiropyrans such as 3-methylspirodinaphthopyran, 3-ethylspirodinaphthopyran, and 3-benzylspironaphthopyran. Of course, these compounds must be colorless or light-colored and develop color when reacting with acidic substances. In addition, as an acidic substance, it is solid at room temperature,
When heated to about 60 to 180°C, it melts and liquefies and hydrolyzes the lactone ring of the color-forming lactone compound to develop color, examples of which include:
4-phenylphenol, 4-hydroxyacetophenone, 2,2'-dihydroxydiphenyl, bis(2-hydroxy-4-chlorophenyl)methane, bis(2-hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-methylphenyl) Methane, 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane (also known as bisphenol A), 2,2-bis(3-chloro-
4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, 2,2-bis(3-methyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)
Cyclohexane, 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-n-heptane, salicylic acid anilide,
Phenolic resin, benzoic acid, pt-butylbenzoic acid, o- or p-chlorobenzoic acid, dichlorobenzoic acid, trichlorobenzoic acid, m- or p-
Hydroxybenzoic acid, o-, m- or p-toluic acid, phthalic acid, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, gallic acid, trimellitic acid, salicylic acid, 3

Phenylsalicylic acid, 3-, 4-, 5- or 6
-hydroxysalicylic acid, 1- or 2-naphthoic acid, and the like. These acidic substances are usually used in an amount of 2 to 30 parts, preferably 5 to 25 parts, per 1 part by weight (hereinafter simply referred to as parts) of the color-forming lactone compound. It is appropriate to use the agent in an amount of usually 0.005 to 2 parts, preferably 0.1 to 1 part, per part of the acidic substance. Various generally known methods can be used to produce the heat-sensitive recording sheet of the present invention, but usually a color-forming lactone compound, an acidic substance, and a sensitizer are added to separate aqueous solutions of water-soluble polymer compounds. In addition, a method of pulverizing them to a particle size of 3 μm or less with a pulverizing and dispersing machine such as a ball mill or attritor, preparing a dispersed coating liquid, mixing it and applying it to the sheet substrate, color-forming lactone compounds and acidic substances. It is possible to adopt a method such as preparing coating liquids in which each of the two is separately dispersed in the same manner as described above, containing a sensitizer in at least one of them, and applying these coating liquids to the sheet base material. . Typical water-soluble polymer compounds used in preparing this coating solution include polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, starches, and styrene-maleic acid copolymers. In addition, in order to improve performance, the coating liquid may contain ultraviolet absorbers such as benzophenone and triazole, fillers such as kaolin, talc, and calcium carbonate, lubricants such as polyethylene wax and paraffin wax, and waterproofing agents. A curing agent and various other chemicals can be added. Furthermore, various dispersants for dispersing various drugs in water can be added to the coating liquid. The coating solution is applied to the sheet substrate so that the color-forming lactone compound contained therein is generally 0.1 to 0.6 g per 1 m 2 of the sheet substrate, and then heated at room temperature to 50°C.
The heat-sensitive recording sheet of the present invention can be obtained by drying the sheet at a temperature of about 100 ml. As the sheet base material, paper is generally used, but other materials such as synthetic resin sheets or nonwoven fabric sheets can also be used as appropriate. Next, the present invention will be specifically explained with reference to Examples and Comparative Examples. In the following, all parts mean parts by weight unless otherwise specified. In addition, in the following, a coating liquid manufactured from a color-forming lactone compound is referred to as "(A) liquid", a coating liquid manufactured from an acidic substance is referred to as "(B) liquid", and a coating liquid manufactured from a sensitizer is referred to as "(B) liquid". is displayed as "(C-1) or (C-2)". Example 1 (A) Liquid crystal violet lactone 1 part 5% hydroxyethyl cellulose aqueous solution 1 part water 1 part kaolin 1 part (B) Liquid bisphenol A 1 part 5% hydroxyethyl cellulose aqueous solution 1 part water 1 part talc 1 part (C -1) Liquid 2-naphthoic acid-o-methylphenyl ester
1 part 5% hydroxyethyl cellulose aqueous solution 1 part water 1 part Each of the above solutions (A), (B) and (C-1),
They were placed in separate ball mills and ground and dispersed to obtain a coating liquid stock solution. Next, 1 part of liquid (A), 5 parts of liquid (B), 2.5 parts of liquid (C-1), and 10.6 parts of a 5% hydroxyethyl cellulose aqueous solution were mixed to make a heat-sensitive coating liquid, and this coating liquid had a basis weight of 50 parts.
A heat-sensitive recording paper was obtained by applying the coating onto a base paper of 3 g/m 2 so that the coating amount after drying was 3 g/m 2 and drying it. Next, regarding the thermal recording paper before and after a storage test of holding it under conditions of 55℃ and 80%RH for 24 hours,
A hot plate coloring test (pressing pressure of 2 kg/cm 2 for 1 second) was performed using a thermal gradient tester manufactured by Toyo Seiki Seisakusho, and the static coloring characteristics were observed. This static coloring characteristic is evaluated by measuring the reflection density using a reflection densitometer "Gretak Portable Reflection Densitometer D142-3" manufactured by Gretak in Switzerland. (Uncolored: about 0.10, Colored: 0.20 or more). These results are shown in Table 1, and all of them show rapid color development as the temperature increases, indicating that the thermal recording paper has good storage stability and color development sensitivity. Examples 2 and 3 2-naphthoic acid-1-instead of 2-naphthoic acid-o-methylphenyl ester in liquid (C-1)
Thermal recording paper was obtained in exactly the same manner as in Example 1, except that naphthyl ester (Example 2) and 1-naphthoic acid-2-naphthyl ester (Example 3) were used, and then the same hot plate coloring test was carried out. Ivy. All of them exhibited rapid color development as the temperature rose, and were thermal recording papers with good storage stability and color development sensitivity. The results are shown in Table 1. Comparative Example 1 Example 1 except that the addition of (C-1) liquid was omitted.
A thermosensitive recording paper containing no sensitizer was obtained in exactly the same manner as above, and then the same hot plate coloring test was conducted, but the coloring sensitivity was poor. The results are shown in Table 1. Comparative Example 2 A thermosensitive recording paper was obtained in the same manner as in Example 1 except that fluorene was used instead of 2-naphthoic acid-o-methylphenyl ester in the liquid (C-1).
A similar hot plate color development test was then conducted, but the storage stability and color development sensitivity were poor. The results are shown in Table 1. 【table】
