[Detailed description of the invention] The present invention relates to a wick for combustion appliances used in kerosene stoves that can be moved up and down by a wick holding cylinder. The structure is designed to prevent the knitting threads from being cut by the locking claws of the core holding cylinder, causing the core to come apart, and to prevent long-term changes due to friction between the top and bottom of the core, thereby extending the life of the core and reducing the size. The aim is to provide uniform products.

Conventionally, in order to manufacture a wick for a combustion appliance, a fuel suction part such as a cotton fabric woven on a loom and cut to an appropriate size and a heat-resistant combustion part such as glass fiber are joined together on the top and bottom. It has been used as a flat core by overstitching the edges, or by sewing single pieces against each other into a cylindrical shape to create a cylindrical core, but recently it has been called latselle knitting, which is a warp knitting method. A knitted core has been proposed in which weft threads (when formed on a core, become warp threads) are repeatedly arranged in a zigzag pattern and knitted with multiple rows of warp threads (when formed on a core, become weft threads).

However, in the case of the above-mentioned knitting core, when it is attached to the core holding tube or when the core is moved up and down, the knitting warp is cut due to friction and the sharp locking claws of the core holding tube, causing the weft to break. As it falls apart, various troubles occur, such as the core being disengaged from the core holding cylinder and the core installation position shifting, and the core not being able to be raised or lowered. In addition, the warp threads expand and contract due to moisture, making the dimensions unstable. It had various drawbacks such as: For this reason, conventionally, yarns were knitted using thick warp threads such as 2-strand strands of No. 20 or 3-strands of No. 30.
According to this, as shown in FIG. 5, as the thickness of the core increases, the locking claws 5 of the core holding cylinder 4 do not fit smoothly between the fibers, and instead get caught on the warp threads and bulge inward, causing the core to swell. There were drawbacks such as the narrower inner diameter making it difficult for the lead to fit into the guide tube (not shown) and making it difficult to lift and lower the lead.

Therefore, in the past, hard knitting yarns were woven into at least the parts of the core where strength was required, or hard knitting yarns were woven into the parts of the combustion wick where strength was required so as to tighten the bundled yarns of the combustion wick. The hardening technology was published in U.S. Pat. No. 55-105707 and No. 55-
This is proposed in Publication No. 80609.

By the way, the above-mentioned hard knitting yarn refers to, for example, hard yarn, synthetic or chemical fiber, or glue-coated yarn made by coating cotton, hemp, etc. with glue, and this refers to hard knitting yarn in which the strength-required part of the combustion wick is coated with glue. The purpose of this is to omit the reinforcing tape that was conventionally used in this area.

The present invention is a further improvement on this type of combustion wick, that is, it achieves the intended purpose by using a special fiber developed in recent years as a part of the wick for combustion appliances, which is knitted in a warp knitting style. This will be explained below with reference to the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 4.

In the figure, 1 is a fuel wicking part, 2 is a heat-resistant combustion part, and the fuel wicking part 1 is a fuel wicking part weft 1a made of a plurality of threads made of a material having excellent wicking properties for liquid fuel, such as cotton fibers. Furthermore, the heat-resistant combustion section 2 uses a heat-resistant combustion section weft 2a which is a collection of a plurality of threads made of a material with high heat resistance such as glass fiber, and both wefts 1a are simultaneously folded repeatedly in a zigzag pattern using a warp knitting machine. and 2a are intertwined and connected at the connecting part, and these are knitted and stitched by a means such as chain stitch by making a large number of warp threads 3, 3, etc. parallel to each other at regular intervals. In the figure, 6 is a reinforcing tape attached or sewn to the outer periphery of the joint in order to cover the joint between the fuel suction part 1 and the heat-resistant combustion part 2 and to strengthen the core body, and 7 is a weft thread. This is a bending portion formed only by 1a.

Although not shown, when double knitting the interlining, the warp 3a made of the aromatic polyamide fiber can be used for only the outer warp 3 that contacts the locking claw 5 of the core holding cylinder 4. The same effect as above can be achieved.

The aromatic polyamide fiber mentioned above is not only a high-performance fiber that has high strength, high modulus, heat resistance, and chemical resistance, but also has the characteristics of light weight and long life. When used for knitting warp threads 3a of a knitted combustion wick mainly corresponding to the locking claws 5 of the core holding cylinder 4, the strength of the combustion wick can be increased to eliminate damage caused by the locking claws, etc. This produces the following effects.
