Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably grind a work roll in an on-line by holding a grinding wheel to be rotatable and installing the wheel as to abut on both the work roll and a supporting roll. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel 3 is installed to abut on a work roll 1 and a reinforcing roll 2 respectively, so that the wheel 3 is stably supported by both the rolls 1 and 2. By that structure, a rolling mill provided with a grinding device excellent in stability is obtained because the wheel 3 can grind the roll 1 without chattering; it is not required to independently set a driving device for the grinding device because driving force for the wheel 3 is supplied from the driving force of the roll 2.

In plate rolling mills, especially hot rolling mills, roll wear at the part where the work roll passes through the plate width is large, and this has a negative effect on the plate surface quality and plate profile, so it is recommended to replace the rolls early or change the rolling coil plate width. There were restrictions on each rolling. As a method to overcome this obstacle, a so-called on-line grinding method has been developed in which work rolls are ground while installed in a rolling mill.

However, there are problems with the roll grinding method installed in a rolling mill, that is, on-line. The reason is that the inside of a rolling mill is cramped with guides, roll cooling water piping, etc., and the internal environment is poor due to water, scale, heat, vibration, etc. Furthermore, a normal separate type roll grinding machine,
The grindstone is supported by a sufficiently rigid grindstone stand and frame to prevent chatter vibration caused by the grindstone drive motor that drives the rotation of the grindstone. It is almost impossible to bring such a device into the rolling mill due to space constraints.

The conventional technique described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 193707/1988 realizes online roll grinding. In this prior art, a grindstone is placed in oblique contact with an object to be ground, a sliding friction is generated between the object to be ground and the grinding wheel, and this sliding friction causes the grindstone to rotate together. However, if the grindstone rotates at the same speed as the object to be ground, grinding is hardly possible, so the object to be ground is ground by controlling this rotation with a rotation suppressor and providing relative slip. However, in the above technology, since the object to be ground is ground using the peripheral speed difference as in 1 or more, it is difficult to grind the wear of the roll, and it is difficult to grind the wear part of the roll, and it is only possible to improve the rough surface of the roll. remains.

Further, in this prior art, since the grinding wheel itself is in one-point contact with the grinding roll, it does not have a stable holding function, and there is also the problem that chatter vibration occurs during high-speed rolling.

In addition, in the second aspect of the present invention, by arranging the grinding wheel provided in the grinding device so as to contact the work roll and the support roll, a compact structure and a highly stable structure can be obtained. Furthermore, the grinding device is provided with a first pressing means for pressing the grinding wheel against the support roll. Since the pressing means presses the grinding wheel against the support roll with a sufficiently larger force than the work roll, the driving force of the grinding wheel can be obtained from the driving force of the support roll.

That is, the link 5 supports the lever 4 so as to be rotatable in the vertical direction so that the grinding wheel 3 reliably contacts both the work roll 1 and the reinforcing roll 2. By doing this, even if the work roll 1 and the reinforcing roll 2 change in diameter due to roll wear, etc., the grinding wheel 3 can always be held in the proper position, and the pressing force from the cylinders 6 and 7 can be applied to the lever. Since it becomes possible to press the grinding wheel 3 against both rolls 1 and 2 via the roller 4, stable support can be achieved. In addition, in the explanation of the rotation function of the lever 4 by the link 5, an embodiment in which the lever 4 is equipped with only the grinding wheel 3 has been described, but the present invention can also be applied to an embodiment in which the lever 4 is equipped with a rotating roller, which will be described later, in addition to the grinding wheel. Needless to say.
