Abstract

PURPOSE:To give a decorative material a pattern having large expression of indented gradation, by forming the decorative material by forming a foamed resin layer, a projecting foamed resin pattern, a recessed foam retardation pattern, a pattern of resin of which the foaming is retarded, etc., sequentially on a base. CONSTITUTION:A foamed resin layer 2 is provided on a base 1, and on the foamed resin layer 2, projecting foamed resin patterns 4 and 5 projecting from the surface of the layer and a recessed foam retardation pattern 3 are formed. On the recessed foam retardation pattern 3, one kind or more of a pattern 9 of resin which is formed of the foamed resin reacting with foam-retardant ink 8 and of which the foaming is retarded, or a projecting foamed resin pattern 10 formed of the foamed resin not reacting with the foam-retardant ink 8, is formed to construct a decorative material. This decorative material can be provided with an ordinary ink pattern and a transparent surface-protecting layer as occasion calls. This decorative material can express an indented multi- gradation pattern stably without a change with time and the like.

Conventionally, it has been common practice to produce decorative materials having patterns that protrude from the surface by using ink with a high solid content or by printing with a printing method that causes a large amount of ink transfer.

Furthermore, there is a method known as chemical embossing in which an uneven pattern is formed by suppressing foaming with foaming suppressing ink. This is, for example, JP-A-Sho sl-tos3
As described in Publication No. 6i, a composition layer containing a thermoplastic resin mixed with a foaming agent that decomposes when heated is formed on the base material (11), and a part of the foamable thermoplastic resin layer is foamed. By printing the foam with the suppression ink (18), the foamed resin (12) and the pattern in which the foaming is suppressed (13) are printed.
), which is recessed from the surface of the foamed resin, and has an image layer having embossed recesses with different depths, and is well known in the art for decorative materials such as flooring and wallpaper. (See Figure 2) [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] Decorative materials manufactured by the conventional printing method described above have problems with the viscosity of the ink when using ink with a high solid content in the manufacturing process. The elasticity changed and the printability deteriorated, which was not preferable. Also, when using a printing method with a large amount of ink transfer, there is a drawback that the drying speed after printing is slow.
It also has the disadvantage that the printed pattern is easily crushed or a blocking phenomenon occurs when it is manufactured and wound up or deposited.

A chemical embossing decorative material such as that described in JP-A-5.1-105368 has a foamed resin layer (12
) can be formed, but since the convex pattern protruding from the surface of the foamed resin layer (12) is not formed, the concave-convex pattern lacks a sense of volume, and the concave-convex pattern lacks a sense of volume. The contrast was reduced and the pattern lacked clarity and delicacy. In addition, the foam inhibitor used here, such as trimellitic anhydride, deteriorates in performance over time due to moisture absorption, so mid-tone areas where the amount of inhibition (i.e. amount of application) is small can stably reproduce the depth of the dent. This was not possible, and actual production was limited to two gradations: no suppression and complete suppression for the stability of uneven gradations.

In the manufacturing process of the decorative material of the present invention, foaming suppressing ink (8
), after printing or transferring a pattern of a foamable resin that reacts with the foaming suppressing ink and a foamable resin that does not react with the foaming ink, the foamable resin layer and the foamable ink are heated as a whole. It is produced by foaming a portion of the reacting foamable resin that does not come into contact with the foam suppressing ink and a foamable resin that does not react with the foam suppressing ink.

The foamed resin layer (2) is formed by adding a heat-foamable foaming agent to a thermoplastic synthetic resin and foaming the heat-foamable material in the form of a film or sheet. For example, polyolefins such as polyethylene and polypropylene; polyolefin copolymers such as ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymers, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers, nylon, acrylic and other synthetic resins; Using a mixture of these, the foaming agent is selected from among the same foaming agents used for the heat-foamable ink that constitutes the heat-foamable pattern described below, depending on the softening point, foaming temperature, or foaming suppression of the synthetic resin used. It is selected in consideration of the combination with the foaming suppressor used in the composition constituting the pattern, and furthermore, a plasticizer, a stabilizer, a coloring agent, a foaming accelerator, a lubricant, etc. are appropriately kneaded to form the composition.

At this time, the foaming agent is selected from the compound (foaming suppressant) that has a foaming suppressing function used in the foaming suppressing ink (・8).
It is selected as appropriate, taking into account the combination etc. Further, the coating film with the foamed resin pattern preferably has a thickness of 70 to 300 μm. If it is less than this, it will lack a sense of embellishment, and if it is more than this, the pattern will flow and the same defects as conventional embellishment printing will appear.

Next, referring to the foam suppressing ink (8), the foam suppressing ink (8) is a composition containing a compound that prevents the decomposition of the foaming agent or inhibits the action of the foaming promoter C that promotes the foaming of the foaming agent. can be formed using . Such compounds, i.e., foaming control agents, include organic acids such as maleic acid, fumaric acid, adipic acid, and 1,2-phthalic acid, especially those with a small number of carbon atoms (both containing two carboxyl groups and one hydroxyl group). Organic acids with 2 to 12 carbon atoms: Organic acid halides with 2 to 20 carbon atoms, especially acid chlorides: Organic acid anhydrides with 2 to 20 carbon atoms: Polyhydric compounds with 2 to 20 carbon atoms having 2 functional groups Aromatic alcohols and ketones: saturated amines having 3 to 12 carbon atoms or unsaturated 6 to 10-membered ring amines, depending on the application, such as blowing agents and blowing aids used in heat-foamable materials,
This is an ink made by selecting and using an ink that has the effect of increasing the foaming temperature in combination with a stabilizer, and further adding colorants, plasticizers, stabilizers, etc. as appropriate and kneading the ink. A foam suppression pattern is printed using the ink, and the foam suppression pattern portion is recessed to form a concave pattern because foaming is suppressed by heating.
