に関するものである。

何らかの形で操作桿内に固定する手段を講じてい
るが、操作桿に孔をあけることは強度上好ましく
なく、支承具の固定手段に苦慮しているのが現状
である。

する。
第1図において、符号1は中空の操作桿で、こ
の操作桿1には、基端部にエンジン2がクラツチ
ケース2aを介して装着され、先端部にギヤボツ
クス3を介して刈刃4が取付けられている。前記
クラツチケース2aとギヤボツクス3間の操作桿
1内には、第2図、第6図および第7図に示す伝
動軸5が挿通、支承され、エンジン2から回転動
力がギヤボツクス3、刈刃4に伝達されるように
なつている。クラツチケース2aの前側の操作桿
1にはグリツプ6が取付けられ、このグリツプ6
の先端寄り側にループ状のハンドル桿7が装着さ
れ、このハンドル桿7に、エンジン2の回転を制
御するスロツトルレバー8が取付けられている。
また、操作桿1のギヤボツクス3近傍部分には刈
刃カバー9が装着されている。
前記操作桿1は、第4図、第5図および第7図
に示すように、周方向に等間隔の4条の凹溝10
を長さ方向に沿つて設けた中空パイプで形成さ
れ、このため、従来の円形パイプで形成された操
作桿に比べ、その外径を細くしても十分な、剛
性、強度が得られるものである。
前記クラツチケース2aは、第2図に詳細に示
すように、操作桿1の基端部に挿通して固着する
ための取付用ボス部11を有し、この取付用ボス
部11には、基端部にベアリング支持部11aを
設け、先端側に嵌合部11bを設けており、ベア
リング支持部11aは断面が円形に形成され、ま
た、嵌合部11bは操作桿1の凹溝10に嵌合す
る突起を有している。そして、前記ベアリング支
持部11aにベアリング12が嵌着されて伝動軸

細に示す環状溝14が凹設されている。この環状
溝14は、操作桿1の大径部内径d1より内側に凹
んで環状部内径d2を形成しているが、凹溝部内径
d3よりは大きい内径を有している。そして、この
環状溝14に前記締付ボルト13aの外周の一部
が嵌入して締付けられて、クラツチケース2a
(エンジン2)およびギヤボツクス3(刈刃4)
が操作桿1に取付けられる。
操作桿1内には、伝動軸5を支承するための複
数の支承具15が適当間隔に設けられる。この支
承具15は、第6図ないし第9図に示すように、
伝動軸5を直接支承して潤滑性を有する円環状の
ブツシユ16と、このブツシユ16を内部に嵌
着、保持し、伝動軸5とは接触しない挿通孔17
aを有するゴムのような弾性体からなるブツシユ
ホルダ17とにより構成されている。そして、ブ
ツシユホルダ17の外形は、前記操作桿1に設け
た環状溝14の環状部内径d2とほぼ同じでこの環
状部内径d2を通過可能の大径部d′2と、操作桿1
の凹溝10の内周面に嵌合し、前記凹溝部内径d3
とほぼ同じ凹部外径d′3を有する凹部18とを形
成し、操作桿1の両端から操作桿内に挿入して、
ブツシユ16により駆動軸5を支承するようにな
つている。
このように構成された刈払機においては、操作
桿1が凹溝10を設けた構成であるので、従来の
ものより外径を細くしても強度上問題がなく、こ
のため軽量化することができ、全体として軽量の
刈払機を構成できる。
また、クラツチケース2aおよびギヤボツクス
3を、凹溝10に嵌合させて締付ボルト13aを
環状溝14に接して取付部分13を締付けるの
で、その取付けが堅固で、しかも、従来より操作
桿1を細くしても、締付けによりつぶれることが
ない。
さらに、支承具15は、環状溝14内を通過し
て操作桿1の両端から挿入されて、操作桿1内の
任意の位置で、しかも操作桿1に孔をあけたりす
ることなく回り止めして支持されるので、その配
設位置を自由に選択して伝動軸5を所望の位置で
支承することができる。
