Furthermore, there are rubber-covered rollers in which fluororubber latex is provided on a silicone rubber layer (hereinafter referred to as FS rollers), and rollers in which fluororesin is provided in the fluororubber layer (hereinafter referred to as FF rollers).

It is manufactured by forming a rubber film of ~100 mm. Furthermore, in the case of an FS roller or an FF roller having an outer layer, fluororubber latex, fluororesin, or the like is painted (coated) on the ground rubber pattern and baked to harden. Here, the coating crosslinking process varies depending on the rubber material used, and there are methods such as casting curing, electrostatic powder coating, spray coating, and dip coating.
The most common method for forming a rubber film under m is the latter method.

There are problems such as the need for coating and poor productivity. Air bubbles are likely to enter the formed film, and especially when the rubber film is the outermost layer of the roller, pinholes caused by the air bubbles directly cause deterioration in image quality.

While holding the roller horizontally, a blade is arranged so that it faces the roller and has a predetermined gap between its tip and the outer periphery of the roller, and simultaneously supplies the rubber material between the blade and the roller. The rubber material is applied to the outer periphery of the roller by rotating the roller, and after the rubber material is further applied to the outer periphery of the roller, the blade is moved back from the roller to further rotate the roller. This is to make the thickness of the rubber material applied to the surface uniform.

Here, it is only necessary to supply the rubber material in an amount approximately equal to the amount required for the rubber film to be formed. By idling the roller after coating, the thickness of the coating film on the outer periphery of the roller is made uniform, the marks of the blade disappear, and a uniform coating thickness can be achieved.
この後、塗布された塗膜を熱硬化させる。After this, the applied coating film is thermally cured.
