Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove an electrified charge at both side edges electrified in much quantity at all times by installing an electrified charge removing means at the side of a roll, which is wound in layers with an insulating web having a weak-electric coat on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A web body 1 formed with a weak electric coat on the surface is wound in layers on the periphery of a winding core shaft 2, to form a web roll U. An electrified charge removing cloth 3 is set up so as to be in contact with both sides of the web roll U under a contact pressure as large as not to damage the web body 1, and each electrified charge at both side edges is subjected to earthing via a fixed part. Accordingly, at time of separation and conveyance of the web roll U, it is possible to lead both side edges electrified in much quantity through removing the electrified charge at all times, thus reducing the cost thereof.

When the web is continuously peeled off and conveyed from a roll of magnetic tape, photographic film, etc., which is a layer of insulating web with a weakly conductive broken film on its surface, the static electricity generated as the web peels off causes various problems. Sometimes.

That is, in the case of magnetic tape, dust is attracted to the web surface, causing dropouts, and in the case of photographic film, spark discharge causes light fogging. Therefore, as a measure to prevent such electrostatic disturbances, (i) a static neutralizing cloth made of a bundle of highly conductive fibers (carbon fibers, metal fibers, etc.) is brought into contact perpendicularly with the surface of the web that is continuously peeled off (hereinafter referred to as the static neutralizing cloth method). A web roll device was used to remove static electricity using a method such as (it) supplying ionized wind to the web surface using a blower (hereinafter referred to as the blower method).

Further, in the static eliminating cloth method, since the diameter of the roll decreases as the web is peeled off from the roll, there is a problem in that the location where the static neutralizing cloth is installed must be changed accordingly. That is, as shown in FIG. 4, at the upper end A of the web roll U, at the web running position B immediately before the lead-out roller provided near the web lead-out part, and at the web running position C immediately after the lead-out roller, part A: static electricity. Although it is possible to bring the static eliminating cloth into contact with the generation source, a tracking device is required because the position moves toward the center point as the roll diameter decreases.

Portion C: There is no positional change due to a decrease in the roll diameter, so a follow-up device is not required, but since it is far from the static electricity generation source, it is not possible to deal with static electricity disturbances on the way to the portion C.

In the web roll U wound around the core shaft 2, as the web body 1 is sequentially peeled off and conveyed toward the lead-out roller 7, charging occurs continuously as the web body 1 is peeled off. At this time, electrification mainly occurs near both side edges of the web body 1, but this electrification is removed by the earthing action of the electrifying device provided on the side surface of the web roll U, that is, the electrifying cloth 3 or the flange 3'. Although the diameter of the roll U decreases as the web body 1 continues to be drawn out, the neutralizing cloth 3 and the flange 3' are always in contact with the side surface of the roll U, so there is no need to change their installation positions. Further, since the static eliminating means does not come into contact with the coating 1a on the surface of the web body 1, there is no risk of damaging the coating 1a or adhering abrasion powder or fragments to the surface.

In the above embodiment, the static eliminating cloth 3 and the flange 3', which are the static eliminating means, are configured to be in contact with both sides of the web roll U. However, depending on the conductivity of the material constituting the web body 1, static eliminating Even with a configuration in which the means is in contact with only one side, a sufficient static elimination effect can be obtained.

(Experiment example) For the purpose of measuring the static elimination effect of the web roll device configured as described above, an experiment was conducted in which the amount of charge on the derived web surface was measured in the web static elimination/unloading device configured under various conditions. Experimental conditions - Target sea urchin photographic film Temperature = 23°C Relative humidity = 55% Conveying speed = 200 m/min Table 1 The embodiments of the web roll device of the present invention have been described above, but the device configuration does not have enough space. If there is, an ion wind generating blower may be provided on the side surface of the web roll as a static eliminating means, and the configuration may be such that static electricity is eliminated by the ionic wind. In this case, if the blower is of a type having an outlet corresponding to the radius of the roll, the installation space can be sufficiently reduced.

As described above, the web roll device of the present invention is characterized in that a static eliminating means is provided on the side surface of the roll formed by winding an insulating web having a weakly conductive coating on the surface.
When the web is led out, static can be constantly removed from both side edges of the web, which are the portions with the largest amount of charge. Moreover, the static eliminating means can be configured at low cost using flanges, static eliminating cloth, etc., and can be incorporated into a part of the roll support device.
The installation space may also be small.
