Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the open circuit of a protective grounding cable to the utmost and protect the safety of an electric apparatus by constituting a power cord with power conductors to feed the power voltage to the electric apparatus and the protective grounding cable having higher strength against open circuit than that of the power conductors. CONSTITUTION:A power cord 1 is constituted with power conductors 11 and 12 to feed the power voltage to an electric apparatus and a protective grounding cable 13 having higher strength against open circuit than that of the power cables 11 and 12. Even when the power conductor is broken, the protective grounding cable 13 is not broken first, the function of the protective grounding cable 13 can be secured, sufficient safety can be protected against the leakage current or short circuit current of the electric apparatus, and the power cord with excellent reliability can be obtained.

Next, the operation of the detection means will be explained. First, when the power cord 1 is normal, the protective grounding wire 13 and the detection line 50 are connected to the protective grounding pin 4 of the power plug 2 and are electrically conductive. Therefore, the protective grounding wire 13 and the detection wire 50 are
They are at the same potential. In other words, the switching transistor 6
The base terminal and emitter terminal of No. 8 are short-circuited. Therefore, the switching transistor 68 is in an off state. Therefore, the warning lamp 65 and buzzer 66 of the warning circuit 67 do not operate. This off state indicates that the power cord 1 is normal.

Here, if the protective grounding wire 13 of the power cord 1 is disconnected, conduction with the detection wire 50 to be connected through the protective grounding pin 4 of the power plug 2 is interrupted. That is, the short-circuit state between the base terminal and the emitter terminal of the switching transistor 68 is eliminated, and the connection between the base terminal and the emitter terminal becomes a so-called open state when viewed from the loop side of the protective ground line 13 and the detection line 50. Therefore, a resistor 69 is connected to the base terminal of the switching transistor 68.
The voltage at the positive output end of the DC power supply circuit 58 is applied through the DC power supply circuit 58. Then, the switching transistor 68 is turned on.

Therefore, current flows through the warning lamp 65 and buzzer 66 of the warning circuit 67, and the lamp 65 and buzzer 66 operate to issue a warning. This indicates that the protective grounding wire 13 has been disconnected.
