【表】DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a film for vapor deposition,
More specifically, the present invention relates to a film for deposition that has excellent gloss, a clear mirror image, and good slipperiness. 2. Description of the Related Art Vapor-deposited films, in which a light reflecting layer is integrated with the film, have been used for applications such as gold and silver threads, namers, and reflective mirrors. In order for this vapor-deposited film to have an excellent appearance, it is important that it has excellent reflectivity and gloss. Furthermore, when handling film, if there is poor slipperiness between the films and objects that come into contact with the film, it will be difficult to wind the film and this will cause problems such as wrinkles during the processing process. , the film is also required to have excellent slipperiness. However, it is difficult to improve all of these requirements at the same time. For example, to improve reflectivity and gloss, it is good to smooth the surface of the film.
As a result, the coefficient of static friction of the film increases (ie, the slipperiness of the film deteriorates). On the other hand, if a film with a rough surface is used, the slipperiness is improved, but the light rays are reflected diffusely, which reduces the gloss and makes the mirror image blurry. In such a film, the gloss seen from the non-deposited side is significantly lower than the gloss seen from the vapor-deposited layer side of a film containing particles of an inert substance, and the decorative effect is diminished. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to obtain a film that has smoothness, excellent gloss, and a clear mirror image. Therefore,
At present, the requirement for slipperiness is met by sacrificing to some extent the transparency and smoothness of the film (therefore, the gloss of the deposited film and the sharpness of the mirror image). As a result of intensive research into a vapor deposition film free of such defects, the present inventor added a specific amount of an inert substance having a specific average particle size, thereby creating protrusions on the film surface and the protrusions forming the surrounding area with the protrusions as nuclei. The present invention was achieved by discovering that a biaxially oriented film having an uneven structure formed with depressions can be given excellent slipperiness as a vapor-deposited film without impairing transparency and gloss. That is, in the present invention, the inert material having an average particle size in the range of 0.10 to 5.0 μm, preferably 0.3 to 3 μm, is
Contains ~0.5% by weight, preferably 0.01-0.10% by weight, and the surface of the film has many irregularities consisting of protrusions and depressions formed around the protrusions, and the total haze of the film is converted to a film thickness of 25 μm. and 3%
This is a film for vapor deposition consisting of the following biaxially oriented film. The present invention will be explained. A crystalline thermoplastic resin can generally be used as the base material of the film for vapor deposition of the present invention. For example, films of polyester, polyamide, high-density polyethylene, isotactic polypropylene, etc. (may be copolymerized as long as crystallinity is not lost) are preferred, and aromatic linear polyester (such as polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene-2, etc.) are particularly preferred. A biaxially stretched film of (6-naphthalene dicarboxylate, etc.) is preferred because it has advantages such as excellent thermal dimensional stability, low moisture absorption, easy handling in the vapor deposition process, and easy loading. In the present invention, fine particles of an inert substance are added to plastic as a base material, formed into a film, and then biaxially stretched to obtain a biaxially oriented film. At this time, examples of inert substances contained in the film include titania, silica, aluminosilicate (kaolin, clay, etc.), calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, and the like. Silica may be amorphous or crystalline. These inert substances, for example, silica or calcium carbonate, are dispersed as a slurry of water or ethylene glycol, and classified in this dispersed state using a classification means (for example, P-660 Super Decanter manufactured by Tomoe Kogyo Co., Ltd.). Then you get it. When the obtained inert substance is added to polyester, for example, it may be added before polyester polymerization or during the polymerization reaction. In addition, after completion of polymerization, it may be kneaded in an extruder when pelletizing, or it may be added to the melt in the extruder and dispersed in the extruder when melt-extruding into a sheet. Preferably, it is added before polymerization. The film for vapor deposition of the present invention has an average particle size of 0.1 to
0.005 to 0.5% by weight (preferably 0.01 to 0.5% by weight) of inert substances in the range of 5.0 μm (preferably 0.3 to 3.0 μm)
0.10% by weight) is essential. If an inert substance with an average particle diameter of less than 0.1 μm is used, the content of the inert substance must be greater than 0.50% by weight in order to obtain good slip properties, which reduces the transparency of the film. The film surface becomes rougher. Furthermore, if an inert substance with an average particle size larger than 5.0 μm is used, large protrusions will be present on the film surface or large particles will be present inside the film, which will impair transparency and gloss.
When using an inert substance with an average particle size larger than 5.0 μm, if the content is less than 0.005% by weight, the transparency and glossiness are at a high level, but the slipperiness becomes extremely low. In the present invention, the depressions that can be generated around the protrusions with the protrusions as the nucleus are not concave-shaped depressions caused by mechanical stamps such as conventional embossing, but are caused by deformation of the film itself during the process of stretching the film. This is caused by. When an unstretched film containing particles is stretched in a uniaxial direction, the polymer is plastically deformed without deforming the particles, so that voids are generated at the boundary between the polymer and the particles during large deformation (stretching). If this film containing voids is then stretched in a direction approximately perpendicular to the uniaxial stretching direction (second axial direction), it becomes a biaxially oriented film.
The voids generated during the uniaxial stretching are further deformed in the second axial direction, and voids 22 are formed in a quasi-circular shape around the projections 21, as shown in FIG. 1-1. In this case, as shown in the cross-sectional view of Figure 1-2, the particles existing in the shallow part near the film surface and the voids around them produce protrusions with the particles as the nucleus, but no depressions are formed around the particles. . In the present invention, the voids described above are changed to depressions on the surface of the film. For this reason, when uniaxially stretching an unstretched film, by preheating the film before stretching to a high temperature or (and) by setting a low stretching ratio, the film that has undergone the first axial stretching has particles. Virtually no voids are formed around (external particles due to inorganic additives or internal particles containing catalyst residue). Next, when the stretched film in this state is stretched in the second axial direction, a depressed portion (depression) of the film with the particles as a core is formed along the second axial direction. The major axis of the elliptical depression is along the second axis direction. Even if a slight void is formed around the particles during the first axial stretching, a depression will be formed with the particles as the nucleus. The surface of the film after biaxial stretching is in a state as shown in Figure 2-1 (top view), and if the stretching conditions are such that stress is concentrated around the particles during the second axial stretching, the depressed portions will be at the level of stress concentration. Accordingly, there is a tendency for the groove to be deeply recessed and for the major axis to become larger along the second axis direction. Figure 2-
2 (cross-sectional view) shows a cross section of the film near the surface, in which projections 21 containing particles and depressions 24 formed around the projections are formed in the biaxially stretched film 23. In the present invention, the depression formed around the protrusion includes a pseudo-elliptical shape eccentric in the second axis direction. At this time, if the most eccentric long axis of the depression is referred to as the long axis, the long axis of the depression should be at least 4 μm to sharpen the protrusions and make the surface smooth. It will be good. Also, for the same reason, the number of depressions is required to be at least 5/mm 2 , and the smoothness of the depressions is 0.025 μm or less, preferably 0.020 μm or less, as a center line average roughness (CLA value) that represents the film surface roughness. is necessary. The concavo-convex unit in the present invention consists of one protrusion and a depression around the protrusion. The size and frequency of occurrence of these uneven units can be controlled by the type of particles, the amount present in the polymer, and the stretching conditions of the film. Regarding the method for manufacturing the biaxially oriented film of the present invention,
An example of manufacturing a polyethylene terephthalate film will be explained below. 0.005 to 0.50% by weight (preferably 0.01 to 0.01 to 3.0 μm) of fine particles such as kaolin and silica with an average particle size of 0.05 to 5 μm (preferably 0.3 to 3.0 μm)
When stretching the unstretched polyethylene terephthalate film containing (0.10% by weight) in the first axial direction, it is preheated to 80 to 120°C. When this unstretched film is preheated to about 90 DEG to 120 DEG C., a hard chromium-plated roll or a ceramic roll with a matte surface is preferred. The unstretched film can reach a predetermined preheating temperature without sticking to the roll surface and without substantial crystallization. Of course, the unstretched film can be preheated in a non-contact manner. The unstretched film is stretched at a temperature of 115 to 135°C, preferably 115 to 130°C, at a stretching ratio of 3.2 times or less (preferably 2.6 to 3.2 times). It is preferable that the stretching speed be relatively slow, and should not exceed 150 m/min. Usually, a drawing speed of about 50 to 100 m/min is selected, and if the drawing speed is low, the drawing temperature can be moved to a slightly lower temperature side. Next, the second stretching is performed by cooling the uniaxially oriented film below the glass transition point or preheating it to a temperature of 100 to 150°C without cooling, and then stretching it in the second axial direction at approximately the same temperature. The film is stretched 3.0 to 4.0 times (preferably 3.2 to 3.8 times). When the temperature of the second axis stretching is high, the boundaries between the concave portions of the concave and convex units become clear, but at low temperatures, the boundaries are often not clear. The stretching ratio in the second axis direction does not significantly affect the frequency of occurrence of uneven units. If a stretching ratio of 3.3 times or more is selected as the second axis stretching ratio, the mechanical strength (Young's modulus) in the second axis direction becomes higher than that in the first axis direction, resulting in a so-called tensilized film. Moreover, the slipperiness of the film tends to decrease. If this biaxially stretched film has insufficient mechanical strength in the first axial direction, it can be further stretched in this direction.
A balanced film can also be obtained by re-stretching the film by about 1.2 to 1.6 times at a temperature of about 120 to 170°C. A biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate film that has undergone two-stage stretching, or three-stage stretching if necessary, has a molecular weight of 180 to 240
Heat setting can be performed at a temperature of 0.2 to 30 seconds at a temperature of 190 to 210 degrees Celsius (preferably 190 to 210 degrees Celsius). Note that the third stage (first axial direction) re-stretching in the three-stage stretching can also be carried out on a film that has undergone heat setting. In the present invention, the direction in which the first axial stretching is applied may be either the machine direction or the width direction of the film. Further, the second axial stretching direction is preferably approximately perpendicular to the first axial direction. Of course, high-stage (multi-stage) stretching in which stretching is further performed in the first axial direction and/or the second axial direction can be performed. In this case as well, the protrusions and depressions on the film surface will remain as they are even if the shape of the uneven unit is slightly deformed, so the transparency and gloss of the film for vapor deposition will depend on the film's slipperiness (low Coefficient of friction)
is maintained. The stretching conditions for the film that form such surface depressions tend to make the film surface relatively smooth, and as a result, the smoothness of the film surface as a deposition film is increased, and the gloss is improved. The Rukoto. The above-mentioned stretched oriented polyester film has a refractive index (nz) of 1.492 or more in the thickness direction. Also, unlike conventional films that have only protrusions on the surface, which impairs slipperiness when the film surface is smoothed, the film with depressions of the present invention has small voids, so the protrusions on the film surface become sharp, and the film-to-film When the film contacts the metal, or the film contacts the metal, the true mutual contact area is further reduced, and the slipperiness of the film can be maintained at a high level. The film for deposition thus obtained was 3
Thickness on the order of ~100μm (preferably 10-75μm)
The one is universal. In addition, the film must have a total haze of 3% or less when converted to a 25 μm thickness. This haze is expressed as a percentage (%) according to JIS-K-6714 using a known haze measuring means. The vapor-deposited film of the present invention is a vapor-deposited film with a light-reflecting layer formed by single-sided plating or vapor deposition.
This light-reflecting layer is formed by providing a metal such as silver or aluminum on the surface of the base film by a known method. The vapor-deposited film obtained in this way has gold thread, silver thread,
Can be used for mirrors, namers, stamping oil, etc. The film for deposition according to the present invention is highly transparent and has good slip properties, so it can be used as a base film for solar films, ID cards, micro films, etc.
It can be used for applications such as transparent heat insulating film and standard film. Next, the main methods for measuring physical properties employed in the present invention will be described. (1) Glossiness Angle gloss meter (GP-
1R) was used to measure the gloss on the film side of a film with aluminum vapor deposited on one side, and expressed as a relative value when the gloss of the sample of Example 1 was taken as 100.
The gloss level is preferably 95 or higher. (2) Coefficient of Dynamic Friction The value was measured when the front surface of the film and the back surface of the film were overlapped and rubbed by the method according to ASTMD-1894-63. (3) Refractive index Measured at 25℃ using Atsube's refractometer.
Values for the Na-D line were measured. (4) Surface roughness CLA Surface roughness CLA (Center Line
Average) value is measured by the following method. Measure the roughened film using, for example, a stylus surface roughness meter (SURFCOM 3B) manufactured by Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd., under the conditions of a needle radius of 2 μm and a load of 70 mg, and use this to determine the film roughness curve. When a part of length L (reference length 2 mm) is extracted, the center line of this extracted part is the X-ray, the vertical magnification direction is the Y axis, and the roughness curve is expressed as Y=f(x), the following formula is obtained. Express the value given in μ. CLA=1/L∫ L/O f(x)dx This measurement is performed on eight samples, the three with the largest values are excluded, and the average value of the five is expressed. Note that the measurement is performed in the vertical direction and the horizontal direction, and the average value of both is used. Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail using specific examples. Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 Using dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol as raw materials, polyethylene terephthalate was produced by a conventional method using manganese acetate as a transesterification catalyst, antimony trioxide as a polymerization catalyst, and phosphorous acid as a stabilizer. did. At that time, by dispersing silica, clay, kaolin, etc. as an inert substance in ethylene glycol, a predetermined amount was contained in the polymer (see Table 1). The obtained polyethylene terephthalate was heated to 160℃
After drying in
An unstretched film of 315 μm was obtained. Subsequently, this unstretched film was passed through four heating rollers 31, 32, 33 and 34 as shown in Figure 3.
After preheating, the film was stretched in one step in the longitudinal direction between rollers 34 and 35 while being heated with an infrared heater 38. Furthermore, the film is 105
Stretched 3.6 times in the transverse direction at a temperature of ℃, then 210℃
Heat treatment was performed. In addition, the stretching speed at this time is
It was 55m/min. In the above longitudinal stretching, heating rollers 31 to 34
While changing the preheating temperature and the conditions of the infrared heater 38, the temperature of the film immediately before the roller 35 was changed as shown in Table 1, and the stretching ratio was changed as shown in Table 1. The characteristics were as shown in Table-1. Approximately 10 -5 Torr on one side of each resulting film
Aluminum was deposited to a thickness of about 0.1 μm using a conventional method under reduced pressure to obtain a deposited film. 【table】
