Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow the user to easily confirm transmission/reception management information and to attain effective utilization of recording paper by recording picture information of transmission original after the transmission management information and received management information are recorded on a same line. CONSTITUTION:An original is set to a sender side facsimile equipment 31 and transmission management information inputted from an input section 37 is stored in a memory 36 by a control section 38 and a transmission section 32 is controlled to connect a line. A receiver side facsimile equipment 41 sends a nonstandard equipment signal to the facsimile equipment 31 based on received management information in a memory 44, the equipment decodes it and sends the nonstandard equipment setting signal and awaits the arrival of a reception preparation confirming signal. When the reception preparation confirming signal arrives, the equipment 31 sends the transmission management information and the decoded received management information and sends picture information read by a read section 33. The equipment 41 decodes a received signal, a recording section 43 records the transmission management information and the received management information on a same line of recording paper and records the picture information of the transmission original.

Note that the transmission management information refers to the date, time, transmitter ID (or transmitting station name), transmission serial number, number of transmitted pages, and total number of original sheets. The year, month, day, and time are determined by the output of a timer within the control section 38. Under the control of the control unit 38, the year, month, day, and time values in the memory 36 are rewritten. The transmitter ID is a device ID assigned in advance to the sending facsimile device 31 and is stored in the memory 36. The transmission serial number is a communication number that is incremented by +1 each time a communication is performed, and is a value that is initialized every day. The total number of originals is the number of originals transmitted in one communication, and is input from the human power section 37. The number of transmitted pages is a value that is incremented by +1 each time one document is transmitted during one communication, and is initialized every time the communication is made.

According to this embodiment, since the transmission management information and the reception management information are recorded in one line in the same storage area, the length of the received document using roll recording paper in the longitudinal direction is shorter than before. Therefore, when the received original is bound into a file, the received original does not protrude from the file. Furthermore, when receiving and recording on cut recording paper, the reduction rate is reduced, making the image information easier to see.
