Abstract

PURPOSE:To sufficiently metal-bond ends of leads to a caulked part of one part of a terminal by a method wherein the tip part of the extraction lead and the caulked part of one part of the terminal are bonded ultrasonically by using an ultrasonic oscillator having a plurality of large protrusions at an end face. CONSTITUTION:The following are provided: a capacitor element 13 having leads 14; an outer-package case 11 which has housed this element 13 from a one-end opening part 11a; a sealing sheet 15 which seals the one-end opening part 11a of the outer-package case 11; terminals 16 which have been attached to the sheet. The extraction lead 14 and the terminal 16 are united by caulking one part 16a of the terminal. In addition, a tip part 14a of the lead is bent and is brought into contact with a caulked part of the one part 16a of the terminal; after that, the tip part 14a of the leads and the caulked part of the one part 16a of the terminal are bonded ultrasonically by using an ultrasonic oscillator 18 having a plurality of large protrusions 17 on an end face. Thereby, both can be metal-bonded sufficiently; and reliability can be enhanced.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A conventional aluminum electrolytic capacitor of this type has a lead 1 of a capacitor element, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
When connecting the terminal 3 attached to the sealing plate 2,
First, the drawer lead 1 and the terminal 3 are connected by caulking the part 3a of the terminal 3, and the tip part 1a6 of the drawer part 1 is bent and brought into contact with the caulked part 31L of the terminal 3, and then, An ultrasonic vibrator 6 whose end face has been subjected to a low-softening process 4 is used to ultrasonically bond the tip portion 1a of the drawer door 1 to the caulked portion of the portion 31L of the terminal 3.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the conventional configuration described above, the ultrasonic transducer 6 whose end face is knurled is used to connect the tip 11L of the drawer lead 1 and the caulked portion 3a of the terminal 3. When we analyze the joint between the tip 1a of the drawer lead 1 and the caulked part 3& of the terminal 3 using cross-sectional photographs, we find that the interface between the two metals is ultrasonically bonded. The shape was clearly visible, and therefore the metal bonding between the two was insufficient.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a capacitor element having a lead-out lead, an outer case in which the capacitor element is inserted from an opening at one end, and an opening at one end of the outer case is sealed. It has a sealing plate and a terminal attached to the sealing plate, the drawer lead and the terminal are connected by caulking a part of the terminal, and the tip of the drawer lead? It is bent and brought into contact with the caulked part of a part of the terminal, and then an ultrasonic vibrator having a plurality of large projections on the end face is used to 1. The caulked portion is ultrasonically bonded.

According to the above structure, the tip of the drawer lead and the caulked part of the terminal are ultrasonically bonded using an ultrasonic vibrator having a plurality of large projections on the end surface. Therefore, when the two metals are joined by ultrasonic waves, a portion of the tip of the drawer lead bites into a caulked part of the terminal due to the large protrusions provided on the end face of the ultrasonic vibrator. As a result, sufficient metal bonding can be achieved without a distinct interface between the two metals.

A portion of the tip 142L of the ultrasonic transducer 18 is a plurality of large truncated conical projections 17 provided on the end surface of the ultrasonic transducer 18.
Part 16 of terminal 16 pressed by? Since the shape bites into the caulked portion of L, the interface between the tip 142L of the pull-out lead 14 and the portion 16 & the caulked portion of the terminal 16 becomes unclear, and as a result, the metal bond between the two is insufficient. This can improve reliability.

Effects of the Invention As is clear from the description of the above embodiments, according to the present invention,
An ultrasonic vibrator having a plurality of large protrusions on the end face is used to ultrasonically bond the tip of the pull-out lead and the caulked part of the terminal.
The metal joining by ultrasonic waves is such that a portion of the tip of the pull-out series lead bites into a caulked portion of the terminal due to multiple large projections provided on the end face of the ultrasonic vibrator. As a result, sufficient metal bonding can be achieved with no clear boundary between the two metals, thereby improving the reliability.
