Abstract

PURPOSE:To bring a contactor into contact with an electrode pad accurately by arranging a spiral or zig zag guide groove in which a contact pin extends in one direction of the contactor or a sleeve while a pin to be fitted into the groove is imbedded on the other hand to keep the contactor in contact with the surface of the electrode pad rotating the contactor. CONSTITUTION:A pin 7 having a contact pin imbedded into an outer surface of a contactor 1 and a spiral groove 8 being fitted into the pin 7 and extending in one direction are provided on an inner wall of a sleeve 2. When the contactor 1 of the contact pin gets in contact with an electrode pad 5, the pin 7 imbedded into the contactor 1 is forced with the groove 8 so that the contactor 1 turns in the direction of the arrow 9. With the rotation thereof, dust or an oxide film on the surface of the electrode pad 5 is removed with the contactor 1, thereby bringing the contactor 1 into contact with the electrode pad 5 accurately.

As shown in FIG. 5, this contact pin consists of a contact 1 made of a round bar made of a conductive material, a sleeve 2 into which the contact 1 is fitted, and into which the contact 1 can slide in one direction. A coil spring 3 is inserted into the sleeve 2 to lift the contact 1 upward. 6 As shown in FIG. 6 (a), the contact pin connected to the electrode pad of the circuit board 6 When the coil spring 3 is not in contact with the electrode pad 5 of the circuit board 4, the coil spring 3 maintains its free length and the contact 1 is located upward. When making contact, the contact 1 is pressed against the electrode pad 5 by the compressive force of the coil spring 3, as shown in FIG. 6(b).
The electrode pad of the circuit board 6 and the electrode i<.7 dot 5 of the circuit board 4 are electrically connected.

With the conventional contact pins described above, the contactor is pressed against the electrode pad in one direction to make electrical connection between the electrode pads (Rads). There is a problem that electrical contact cannot be made properly due to oxidation of the surface of the pad, making it impossible to accurately transmit electrical signals.

This contact pin includes a pin 7 embedded in the outer surface of the contactor 1, and a spiral groove 8 that fits into the pin 7 and extends in one direction on the inner wall of the sleeve 2. Other than this, it is the same as the conventional example.

With this structure, as shown in FIG. 2, when the contact 1 comes into contact with the electrode pad 5, the pin 7 embedded in the contact 1 is forced into the G pin 7 by the groove 8. Therefore, the contact 1 rotates in the direction of the arrow 9. This rotating action ensures that the electrode pad 5 and the contact 1 come into contact with each other while the contact 1 removes dust or oxide film on the surface of the electrode pad 5.

As explained above, the contact pin of the present invention provides a spiral or meandering guide groove extending in one direction on one side of the contact or the sleeve, and embeds a pin that fits in this groove on the other side. Since the contactor contacts the surface of the electrode pad while rotating, this rotational action removes dirt and oxide film from the surface of the electrode pad, thereby ensuring reliable contact between the contactor and the electrode pad. Therefore, even if there is dirt or an oxide film on the contact surface, it is possible to ensure electrical connection.
