[Industrial Utilization Branch] The present invention relates to an optical disc file device, and particularly to a means for registering index data added to data SIG'd to an optical disc file. [Prior art] For example, Optronics Co., Ltd., December 1, 1985.
In recent years, image file systems and document file systems that use optical discs have been attracting attention as new document management methods, as described in "Easy to Understand Optical Day, Suffu", published on the 0th, pages 175 to 201. . In this type of optical disk file system, along with image data or document data, index data necessary for searching that data is added to the optical disk. For example, taking a document file system as an example, the data to be registered is Along with the document data, the document data's document name (1) classification, author (2) publisher (1) publication date, etc.
Character data that can identify the document data is added as index data. Conventionally, optical discs used in optical disc files have recording tracks formed in a spiral or concentric pattern, and one revolution of each recording track is divided into a plurality of sectors of equal recording capacity. Image data or document data and their index data are registered separately. Each sector is usually formed to have a recording capacity of about 1 to 2 kilobytes. [Ia that the invention attempts to solve! i) However, the amount of data for one on-index data is usually about 200 bytes at most, and if one index data is recorded in a sector with a recording capacity of 1 to 2 kilobytes, the remaining space will be wasted. , the recording density decreases accordingly. To explain this in more detail, an optical disk writes data to a sector by specifying the address of the sector, and reads data written to the sector. Because it is not possible to selectively read some data,
Even if there is space for recording other data in the remaining area after writing the index data, it cannot be used effectively and becomes dead space. Furthermore, the read speed of data from an optical disk is the product of the number of rotations of the optical disk and the length of one sector, that is, the number of sectors that the laser spot scans within a unit time. When recording, the time required to read the index data is wasted due to the dead space. Therefore, read index data. Furthermore, it takes a long time to search for image data or document data. The present invention has been made to solve the problems of the prior art described above, and an object of the present invention is to provide an optical disc file device with a high data recording density and a quick search speed for index data. Means for Solving caWi] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention divides the recording area of an optical disc provided in an optical disc file into a recording area for recording market image data or document data and a recording area for recording index data. In this way, multiple index data can be registered in one sector. In addition, separate from the optical disc file, there is also a rewritable memory device for registering index data of image data or document data registered in the optical disc file, and a data amount of the index data registered in this memory device. When it reaches a predetermined value,
A registration means for registering these index data in one predetermined sector is provided. [Operation] As mentioned above, one sector is 1 kilobyte to 2 kilobytes.
It has a storage capacity of about kilobytes. A plurality of index data of about 200 bytes can be recorded. In this way, the recording capacity of each sector is effectively utilized, dead space is reduced, and the recording capacity of the optical disc can be substantially increased. In addition, by doing this, the number of rotations of the optical disk and the
The number of index data scanned by the laser spot within a unit time can be increased without changing the length of the sector. Therefore, index data can be read out and image data or document data can be searched quickly.

First, the overall configuration of the optical disc file device according to the present invention will be explained based on FIG. 2. As shown in this figure, the optical disk file device of the present invention includes a central processing unit lt1 that controls the entire system, an optical disk file 2 that registers image data or document data, and index data, and a file that controls this optical disk file 2. It is comprised of a controller 3, a magnetic disk 4 for recording data read out when the system is started, various memories 5-8, and various terminal devices 9-13. The various memories include a program memory 5 storing a control program for operating the central processing bag [1], a work memory 6 storing variables and tables used by the central processing bag [1], and image data or documents. It includes a buffer memory 7 for temporarily storing data, and a bitmap memory 8 in one-to-one correspondence with the image data displayed on the display contained in the various terminal bags. The various terminal devices include a scanner 9 for writing data into the optical disc file 2, a scanner controller 1 roller 10, a display 11 for displaying data read from the optical disc file 2, and a display controller 12. , a keyboard 13 for inputting commands, character data, image indexes, etc. The optical disc file 2 consists of an optical disc on which data is recorded and a disc drive device that writes/reads data to/from this optical disc. FIG. 3 is a plan view showing an example of an optical disc provided in the optical disc file 2, in which a center hole 14 is opened in the center, and a recording area 15 is formed in a ring-shaped area concentric with the center hole 14. It is formed. This recording area 15 has spiral or concentric recording tracks 1.
6 a, 16 b. IGc...16x are formed at a constant pitch. These recording tracks 16a for each round. 16b, 16c, ... 16x are a plurality of sectors 17a, based on a predetermined radial direction fiA-A,
It is equally divided into 17b, 17c, . . . 17x. For this reason, when this optical disc is observed from a plane direction, the divisions of each sector are observed radially as shown in FIG. Since this optical disk divides each recording track into equal parts, the same amount of data can be recorded in each sector when the disk rotates at a constant angular velocity. In addition, each sector 17a, 17bt 17c, ---1
The 7x address is the reference recording track. For example, it can be specified by specifying the number of the recording track it is on, counting from the innermost recording track 14a, and the number of sector it is on, counting from the 41st position 1i7A-A in the radial direction. can do. Therefore, by specifying this address, data can be written to a desired sector and data can be read from a desired sector. The image data or document data and the index data are recorded on different recording tracks to speed up the search speed. For example, a recording area for image data or document data and a recording area for index data are distinguished depending on the radial direction of the recording area, and a plurality of recording tracks on the inner circumference are designated as a recording area exclusively for index data, and the remaining outer circumference is A method is adopted in which each recording track is designated as a recording area exclusively for image data or document data. Hereinafter, the data registration procedure in the device will be explained based on FIG. 4. The following operations are performed by the central processing unit i! according to the program stored in the program memory 5. It will be held at tl. First, in step S-1, the system is started, and in step S-2, image data or document data to be registered in the scanner 9 is set. Next, in step S-3, the keyboard 13 is operated to input index data of the image data or document data. in this case. As index data, for example, character strings necessary to specify the data, such as document name, classification name, author, issue date of publisher 1, etc., are input. This index data is stored in the work memory 6. When the input of index data is completed, step S-

An index data table as shown in FIG. 5 is created. In the index data table, a file number (serial number) 21, index data (in the example of FIG. 3, character strings ``patent specification'' and ``research report'') 22, and image data or document data are registered. The address 23 of the recorded recording area, the size (data amount) 24 of the data, and the attribute 25 representing the data structure and number of gradations of the registered data are stored. In this example, the space is used to store three index data. (File number (1)
, (2), (3)), of which two spaces (
It is displayed that index data is already stored in file numbers (1) and (2)). Next, in step S-5, it is determined whether or not there is space in the index data table of the work memory 6. As shown in FIG. 5, if only two pieces of index data are recorded in the work memory 6 and there is free space, in step S-8, the free space (file number (3)) is recorded. Predetermined data 22-25
is recorded. This completes the '1B routine for one data (step 5-9). If it is determined in step S-5 that there is no space in the index data table, step S-6
is executed. In step S-6. The three index data already stored in the work memory 6 and the index data of the data that is currently being registered in the optical disc file 2 are recorded in one sector in the index data dedicated recording area set on the optical disc. Ru. FIG. 1 schematically shows the arrangement of image data or document data and index data recorded on an optical disc. As shown in this figure, the innermost recording track 16a
The area from the recording track 16m to the recording track 16m is a recording area 31 dedicated to index data, and the area from the innermost recording track 16n to the outermost recording track 16x following the recording track 16m is a recording area 32 dedicated to image data or document data. It becomes. Each record 1 to rack 1f3a, 16b, 16c, "'" 16x is composed of a plurality of sectors 17a, 17 having the same recording capacity.
b, 17C9...17x. The image data or document data is stored at the beginning of the unrecorded portion 34 of the recording area 32 exclusively for image data or document data, as indicated by diagonal lines 33 in FIG.
Data is written sequentially starting from the sector (in the example of FIG. 1, sector 17a of the 1Gp track). As shown in this figure, depending on the length of the data to be registered, the data may not be able to be stored in one sector and may be written over multiple sectors. Note that the reference numeral 35 in FIG. 1 indicates a recorded portion of the recording area 32 dedicated to image data or document data. On the other hand, the four index data stored in the work memory 6 are located at the beginning of the unrecorded portion 40 of the recording area 31 dedicated to index data, as indicated by diagonal lines 36, 37, 38, and 39 in FIG. sector (first
In the illustrated example, the data is written to the 17b sector of the 16g track. The storage capacity of the work memory 6 is adjusted to the capacity that can be recorded in one sector, and all of the four index data are written in one sector. Note that the reference numeral 41 in FIG. 1 indicates a recorded portion of the recording area 31 dedicated to index data. Next, a method of searching for image data or document data registered in the optical disc file 2 will be explained. First, when desired index data such as "patent specification" or "research report" is input from the keyboard 13, the character string is input into the work memory 6. Next, the index data is sequentially read from the index data-dedicated recording area 31 and compared with the designated character string. Furthermore, if index data is stored in the index data table of the work memory 6, it is read out and compared with the designated character string. When desired image data or document data is found as described above, the data is read from the optical disk file 2 to the bitmap memory 8 and displayed on the display 11 via the display controller 12. The index data table in the work memory 6 is recorded on the magnetic disk 4 prior to the end of use of the optical disk file device. Therefore, the next time the optical disk file device is used, by reading the index data table from the magnetic disk 4 into the work memory 6, the same registration and search operations as described above can be performed. Since the optical disc file device of the above embodiment records a plurality of index data in one sector, the dead space of each sector is reduced, and the recording capacity of the optical disc can be substantially increased. Also,
The number of index data scanned by the laser spot within a unit time can be increased without changing the rotational speed of the optical disk and the length of the l sector, and the search time for image data or document data can be shortened. [Effects of the Invention] As explained above, since the optical disc file device of the present invention records a plurality of index data in one sector, the recording capacity of the optical disc can be substantially increased. Furthermore, the time required to search for image data or document data can be shortened.
