Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はメモリカードに係り、特に、ＩＣを実装した回
路基板とプラスチックフレームおよび金属板で構成され
るメモリカードの組立構造に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来のメモリカードは、第２図に示すように、ＩＣチッ
プ１等の素子を実装した回路基板２を単にプラスチック
フレーム３にはめ込み、その両面を金属板４でおおう構
造をとっていた。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
しかし、従来のメモリカードでは、構造上、曲げやひね
り等に対する機械的強度が低く、回路基板の両面にＩＣ
が実装されている場合、片面は金属板のすぐ下にＩＣチ
ップが存在するため、外からの衝撃によりＩＣチップが
破壊される危険性が高い。
そこで、本発明は上記の問題を解決するため、外からの
衝撃がメモリカード内部に直接伝わらないようにしてＩ
Ｃチップを保護するとともに、メモリーカードの機械的
強度を向上させることを目的としている。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明のメモリカードは、 複数の半導体メモリを内蔵するメモリカードにおいて、 複数のＩＣチップを両面実装した回路基板を中心にし、
その両側からプラスチックフレームと金属板ではさみ込
む構造にしたことを特徴とする。
〔実　施　例〕
以下、本発明について実施例に基づき詳細に説明する。
第１図は本発明のメモリカードの構造を示す組立図であ
って、ＩＣチップ１が実装された回路基板２を上下２枚
のプラスチックフレーム３と金属板４ではさみ込むサン
ドイッチ構造がとられている。
組立構造としては、受は側すなわち器となるプラスチッ
クフレーム３にＩＣチップ１、コネクタ５等の素子が実
装された回路基板２が組み込まれる。その上に、あたか
も器にふたをするかのようにもう一枚のプラスチックフ
レーム３′が回路基板２とコネクタ５をはさみ込むよう
に組み込まれる。
なお、上下２枚のプラスチックフレーム３には、回路基
板２上に実装されている素子が当たらないようにそれぞ
れ素子逃げ穴６が設けられている。
さらに、そのプラスチックフレーム３に両面から金属板
４を接着し外装を保護する。この金属板４は、メモリカ
ードのデザインパネルとなるだけでなく、強度向上、静
電気、ノイズシールドにも役立っている。
このようなサンドイッチ構造により、非常に薄型のメモ
リカードであるにもかかわらず、外からの衝撃に対し金
属板４下のプラスチックフレーム３がスペーサの役割を
果たすため、内部のＩＣチップ１に直接衝撃が加わるこ
とはない。また、回路基板２上下のプラスチックフレー
ム３が、素子逃げ穴６を設けながらも、格子状に形成さ
れているため、曲げやひねりに対する機械的強度は向上
する。
〔発明の効果〕
以上述べたように本発明によれば、メモリカードの構造
を、回路基板を中心にして上下から２枚のプラスチック
フレームと金属板ではさみ込むサンドイッチ構造にした
ことにより、曲げやひねり等に対する機械的強度を向上
させるという効果がある。また、外からの衝撃も内部の
ＩＣチップに伝わりにくくなるため、ＩＣチップが破壊
される心配も少なくなる。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 　複数の半導体メモリを内蔵するメモリカードにおいて
    、 複数のＩＣチップを両面実装した回路基板を中心にし、
    その両側からプラスチックフレームと金属板ではさみ込
    む構造にしたことを特徴とするメモリカード。
