Conventionally, veneers were joined in the direction of their fibers (vertical slats)
When cutting, a scarf cut is made at the end of the butt end,
It is known that the scarf cut surfaces or the back surfaces thereof are bonded and joined using an adhesive such as hot melt.

However, in this type of scarf joint technology, the strength development of the joint part is limited by the curing time of the adhesive, so it takes at least one to several seconds, and when working with green veneer, etc.
It takes 30 seconds to several minutes, and there is a time limit to improving productivity.

The present invention aims to improve the scarf joint technique by providing a vertical cutting method for shortening the above-mentioned time or reducing it to zero, and the details thereof will be explained based on the drawings. The examples are as follows.

First, the example shown in FIG. 1 shows the butt ends 3 of two veneers 1 to be joined, but as is clear from the figure, one end 3 has a fiber direction. A plurality of cracks or notches 2 are formed to form a comb-teeth shape. and both ends 3
As shown in Fig. 3, the ends with cracks or cuts 2 are cut vertically as shown in Fig. It engages with the other end with some elastic deformation in the vertical direction. That is, the two butt ends are vertically cut in such a manner that the scarf cut surfaces or the back surfaces thereof alternately abut each other at arbitrary intervals with the crack or cut 2 as the boundary.

On the other hand, in the case illustrated in FIG. 2, cracks or notches 2 as described above are formed on both of the butt ends 3 of the two veneers 1 to be joined, and both ends as shown in FIG. It is something that brings together comrades in the department. In this case, as shown in Figure 2, it is sufficient to give some deformation to only one end and engage the other end without giving any such deformation, but if necessary, both ends can be engaged. It is also possible to deform the ends to be suitable for such an interlocking form before interlocking.

Experimental Example Vertical pigeons as shown in Figs. 1 and 3 were carried out under the following conditions. (1) Veneer: 100mm wide, 3mm thick raw radiata pine veneer, (2) Scarf cut formed at the end; tip angle 20 degrees, (3) Cut: 17mm long from the end with a disc knife. Formed at 13mm intervals.

After vertical ratcheting as shown in Figure 3 under the conditions of the above experimental example, tension was applied and the bonding force was measured, and an average bonding force of 2.5 kg was obtained.

Based on the above experimental example, modified examples of the present invention will be described as follows. First, the conditions for the veneer are not particularly limited, such as thickness, width, wood species, moisture content, etc., but green veneer has greater elastic force and frictional force than dry veneer, so it has a higher bonding force. tends to be obtained. For scarf cuts, the tip angle should preferably be about 3 to 35 degrees.
The cracks or cuts 2 can be formed using a knife, a saw, a roll press, etc., and the length extending in the fiber direction is about 3 to 15 times the thickness of the veneer, and the intervals are at appropriate equal intervals or Unequally spaced.

In any case, according to the method of the present invention, bonding strength can be obtained the moment both ends are engaged, so it is extremely effective in shortening the warping time.
In addition, even if the adhesive is applied to the abutting points of both ends or near the abutting points, the combination of adhesives and adhesives can be used to make both veneers more firmly vertically aligned.
It is possible to sequentially perform the next vertical cutting without waiting for the time required for the adhesive to harden, and to allow sufficient curing time for the adhesive to harden. This is an extremely important effect on the vertical warping of green veneers, and significantly improves productivity compared to the conventional adhesive-only technology.

Although the veneer vertically carved by the method of the present application apparently has unevenness at the joint, once pressed, the unevenness has sufficient flatness without causing any problems, and it can be applied with pressure such as a roll press as appropriate. It is possible to flatten it by tightening means.
