【考案の詳細な説明】 本考案はシールド掘進機のテールシールに係
り、特にブラシ式テールシールの止水性乃至シー
ル性の向上を図つたシールド掘進機のテールシー
ルに関する。

式テールシールが多く採用されるに至つている。
この種のテールシール3は、一般に第2図、第3
図に示す如く多数本のワイヤ4を断面コ字状の取
付金具5で縛束して短冊状のワイヤブラシ6を成
型し、このワイヤブラシ6をシールドフレーム1
の後端内周面に押え板7及び止めボルトによつて
環状に取付けた構造になつている。そして、ワイ
ヤブラシ6の止水性を確保するために、特開昭52
−107136号公報にも示されるように通常、第1図
に示す如く、シールドフレーム1の軸方向にもワ
イヤブラシ6を適宜間隔を隔てて配設すると共
に、この二重シール構造となつたテールシール3
における前後のブラシ61,62間の空隙Sにパ
テ、グリース等の充填材を充填している。

無く、未だ充分な止水効果を得ることができなか

にその周方向に沿つて互いに端部同士を付き合わ
せて配設して構成されている。また、ワイヤブラ
シ6は多数本のワイヤ4の一端部を断面コ字状の
取付金物5で縛束してなり、ワイヤ4は、その自
由端が斜め内方向へ延出すべく付根部分4aで折
曲げられている。そして、これらワイヤブラシ4
は押え板7及び止めボルト(図示せず)により、
それぞれシールドフレーム1に固定され、これら
ワイヤブラシ6上には止水効果を高めるためのメ
ツシユ10がワイヤブラシ6の周方向に沿つてこ
れを覆うべく配設されている。このメツシユ10
は止水用充填材の目詰りを生じざせ得る大きさの
編目を有するナイロン製、布製あるいは金属製等
からなつている。特に実施例ではメツシユ10は
短冊状のワイヤブラシ6の上下に配置され且つそ
の周方向に沿つて切目無く連続して形成されてお
り、止水性を完全なものとしている。また、上部
のメツシユ10はその基端部をシールドフレーム
1とワイヤブラシ取付金物5との間に、下部のメ
ツシユ10はその基端部をワイヤブラシ取付金物
5と上記押え板7との間にそれぞれ挾むことによ
つて取付けられており、取付けの簡素化が図られ
ている。第4図中11はワイヤブラシ6のワイヤ
変形防止のためにワイヤブラシ6の外周部にその
周方向に沿つて配設された矩形板バネからなるシ
ール板、12はワイヤブラシ取付金物5の位置決
めをするためにシールドフレーム1の内周面に形
成された環状鍔部である。
