[Field of Industrial Application] This invention relates to a method for producing pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes such as tapes, sheets, and labels using a polyolefin sheet as a support and an acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive as a pressure-sensitive adhesive. . [Prior Art] Conventionally, as a support for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape,
Various self-supporting sheets such as paper, plastic sheets, and metal foils are used, but polyolefin sheets such as polyethylene and polypropylene have excellent moisture resistance, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation properties, so they are used for packaging and surface applications. It can be said that it is a useful support for a variety of purposes such as protection and electrical insulation. In addition, in recent years, acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives using acrylic polymers whose main monomer is (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester as a base polymer have been developed.
Due to its excellent adhesive properties and durability, it has become widely used as an alternative to conventional natural rubber-based and synthetic rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesives, but recently, among this type of pressure-sensitive adhesives, organic solvents are not used. Emulsion-type adhesives are attracting attention. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, the adhesive layer formed by applying and drying the acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive on a polyolefin sheet has an essential drawback in that it has poor anchoring properties to the sheet. . Therefore, as a means of improving this, attempts have been made to improve anchoring properties by using polyolefin sheets with surface oxidation treatment and introducing functional groups such as carboxyl groups into the base polymer of pressure-sensitive adhesives. Efforts have been made, such as using the catalyst of the crosslinking agent used in the agent as an undercoat, but the reality is that none of them have yielded fully satisfactory results. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes that can significantly improve the anchoring properties between a polyolefin sheet and an acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive and exhibit stable adhesive strength. It is an object. [Means for Solving the Problems] As a result of extensive research into improving the anchoring properties of polyolefin sheets and acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesives, the inventor developed a polyolefin sheet with a surface oxidation treatment as a support. By using a specific compound as an undercoat at the interface between this sheet and the adhesive layer made of the above-mentioned pressure-sensitive adhesive, anchoring properties can be significantly improved and stable adhesive strength can be exhibited. He discovered this and completed this invention. That is, this invention applies an acrylic emulsion-type texture whose main monomer is an acrylic polymer whose main monomer is an alkyl (meth)acrylic ester to the treated surface of a polyolefin sheet that has been subjected to surface oxidation treatment via an undercoat. The present invention relates to a method for producing pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes by applying and drying a pressure-sensitive adhesive, characterized in that an acrylic amine compound is used alone as the undercoat. . [Structure and operation of the invention] The polyolefin sheet used in this invention is usually made of polyethylene, polypropylene, poly(1-butene), etc. and has a thickness of 0.025 to
A sheet of about 0.10 mm is used, and one or both sides of this sheet are oxidized by corona treatment, flame treatment, chemical oxidation treatment, etc. This surface oxidation treatment is an essential means for improving adhesion or adhesion with the primer, and if this treatment is not performed, the effect of significantly improving anchoring properties, which is the objective of this invention, cannot be expected. . The undercoat used in this invention is (meth)
A so-called acrylamine compound in which an amino group is introduced into an acrylic polymer whose main monomer is an acrylic acid alkyl ester is used. An example of this is to use (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester as the main component, add other monomers such as vinyl acetate, styrene, acrylonitrile, etc. that can be copolymerized with this as necessary, and further add an amino group-containing monomer as an essential component. and other water-soluble acrylic amines (trade name: Polyment, manufactured by Nippon Shokubai Co., Ltd.). In this invention, first, an undercoat consisting of the above-mentioned acrylic amine compound is dissolved (dispersed in some cases) in a suitable solvent, usually water, to form a solution (or dispersion) in which the concentration of the above-mentioned compound is usually about 5 to 20% by weight. This is applied to the treated surface of the surface-oxidized polyolefin sheet and dried to form an undercoat layer. The thickness of the undercoat layer is generally in the range of 0.01 to 2 μm, preferably 0.02 to 1.5 μm. If this thickness is too thin or too thick, a good anchoring property improvement effect cannot be obtained, which is not desirable. By further applying and drying an acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive on such an undercoat layer so that the thickness after drying is usually 5 to 50 μm,
Further, by subsequently performing necessary steps such as cutting, pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes having excellent anchoring properties between the support and the adhesive layer and exhibiting stable adhesive strength can be obtained. The above-mentioned acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive used in this invention has (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester as the main monomer, and a modifying monomer is added thereto to impart functions such as adhesive strength and cohesive strength. It is obtained by emulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium. The (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester as the main monomer preferably has an alkyl group having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, and the modifying monomers include acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, itaconic acid, and acrylic acid. 2-hydroxyethyl, 2-hydroxypropyl acrylate, N/N-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate, acrylamide,
Methacrylamide, n-butoxymethylmethacrylamide, glycidyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, styrene, etc. are used. These modifying monomers are used in a proportion of 30% by weight or less based on the total amount of the main monomer. Further, as the acrylic emulsion type pressure-sensitive adhesive of the present invention, for example,
No. 189175, patent application No. 1983-29133, patent application No. 1983-35437
Any other known acrylic adhesives other than those mentioned above, such as those described in Japanese Patent Application No. 57-208256, can be used. The reason why the pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes obtained in this manner have excellent anchoring properties between the support and the adhesive layer is not clear, but the acrylic amine compound as an undercoat formed on the surface of the polyolefin sheet is not clear. is presumed to exhibit excellent anchoring properties because it has a strong binding force to the oxidized surface of the sheet and has good affinity with the adhesive layer. Moreover, this excellent anchoring property makes it possible to produce adhesive tapes that can stably exhibit the original adhesive properties of an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. [Effects of the Invention] As described above, in this invention, a polyolefin sheet is subjected to surface oxidation treatment, an acrylic amine compound is provided alone as an undercoat on this treated surface, and an acrylic emulsion type compound is applied on this undercoat layer. By adopting a structure in which a pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied and dried to form an adhesive layer, it is possible to manufacture pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes that exhibit strong anchoring properties and stable adhesive strength between the sheet and the adhesive layer. Become. [Examples] Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically explained with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited only to these Examples. Note that in the following, parts mean parts by weight, and the adhesive strength and anchoring strength tests were measured by the following methods. <Adhesive strength> Cut the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape sample to a width of 20 mm, paste it on a degreased SUS304 stainless steel plate, leave it for 30 minutes, and then peel it off at 180 degrees. Adhesive strength (peeling speed 300 mm/min, 20°C %RH) was measured. <Anchoring ability> Anchoring ability was evaluated by repeatedly repeatedly attaching and separating the adhesive surfaces of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape samples to each other, and measuring the number of adhesion and separation operations until the adhesive layer peeled off from the support sheet. . Example 1 80 parts of butyl acrylate, 20 parts of acrylonitrile, 5 parts of acrylic acid, 5 parts of polyoxyethylene alkyl phenol ether, and ion-exchanged water were placed in a reactor equipped with a thermometer, a stirrer, a nitrogen inlet tube, and a reflux condenser. Charge 160 parts and heat with stirring under a nitrogen stream. When the reaction system reaches about 60°C, add 0.3 parts of ammonium persulfate as a polymerization initiator to start polymerization, and carry out the polymerization reaction for about 3 hours. Ivy. After the polymerization was completed, the reaction system was heated to about 75°C and aged for about 1 hour to obtain an emulsion composition containing an acrylic polymer. An acrylic emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive having a viscosity of about 5 poise (at 20° C.) was prepared by dropping an aqueous ammonia solution of about 3% by weight while stirring the emulsion composition. On the other hand, as an undercoat, an undercoat solution consisting of a 5% by weight aqueous solution of an acrylic amine compound obtained by polymerizing butyl acrylate and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate was used. This undercoat solution was applied to the treated surface of a corona-treated 60 μm thick polyethylene sheet so that the thickness after drying would be 0.1 μm, and the undercoat solution was heated and dried at 90° C. for 1 minute to form an undercoat layer. Next, the above-mentioned acrylic emulsion type pressure-sensitive adhesive was applied onto this undercoat layer so that the thickness after drying would be 20 μm, and after heating and drying at 90°C for 3 minutes,
A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape was obtained by cutting into widths. Example 2 After carrying out emulsion polymerization using the following polymerization raw materials in the same manner as the polymerization method shown in Example 1, about 3% by weight ammonia aqueous solution was added dropwise to give about 5 poise (20
