1 to 3, the cylindrical filter element of the air cleaner for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention has the following structure. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, a single strip material (made of woven fabric, non-woven fabric, or paper) 5 has a corrugated plate part 5b on one side and a flat plate part 5c on the other side with its center part 5a as a boundary. It is bent in two at the center portion 5a and wound spirally around the winding core 11 as shown in FIG. During this winding, one end is sealed with an adhesive 10. Both ends 50a and 50b of the over-element 50 shown in FIG. 3 constructed by winding in this manner are parallel to each other, but are inclined outward with respect to the axis of the over-element 50. This sloped part is
In FIG. 2, when the material 5 is wound, the ends of the material 5 may be shifted slightly each time the material 5 is wound.

The cylindrical over-element 50 is supported as shown in FIGS. 4 to 8. That is, the material 5 is wound around the cylindrical portion 12a forming the center of the ring-shaped receiving frame 12 (made of resin or metal) shown in FIG. It is composed of a seat portion 12b and a radial support portion 12c. As is clear from FIG. 4, the support portion 12c is inclined obliquely upward along the inclination of one end portion 50b of the cylindrical over-element 50. The cylindrical filter element 50 is placed on the seat portion 12b and the support portion 12c of the receiving frame 12 as shown in FIG. 3, and as is clear from FIG. are in contact with each other. Note that the cylindrical shape 12a of the receiving frame 12 and the cylindrical over-element 5 are bonded together with an adhesive.

The actual assembly of the cylindrical over-element 50 is as follows:
As shown in FIG. 4, the cylindrical portion 12a of the receiving frame 12
is supported on the disc portion 15b of the support frame 15, the presser frame 13 is placed on the bottom surface of the case 8, and the gasket 14 of the presser frame 13 is further sandwiched between the case 8 and the cap 2. . Further, a ring-shaped gasket 3 (rubber, resin) is interposed between the cylindrical portion 12s of the receiving frame 12 and the cap 2, and the bolt 16 fixed to the carburetor (not shown) is connected to the receiving frame 1.
2 through the hole 12d of the support frame 15 and the hole 15d of the support frame 15 to assemble the wing nut 17.

In the above configuration, contaminated air reaches the space between the cap 2 and the case 8 through the inlet 9, as shown in FIG. Then, as shown by the arrow in FIG. 4, it passes through the bag-shaped portion 50c of the cylindrical filter element 50 and becomes clean. This purified air passes between the plurality of legs 15a of the support frame 15 and is led to the vaporizer.

According to the structure of the above embodiment, since both end surfaces 50a and 50b of the cylindrical filter element 50 are inclined, on the inlet side of the filter element 50, the amount of air in the direction toward the center is limited to the cap 1. Since the distance between the case 8 and the end surface 50a of the over-element 50 is small, the amount of air flowing toward the center of the over-element 50 decreases due to the small distance between the case 8 and the end surface 50b of the over-element 50. increases because it is large. Therefore, as a result, both end surfaces 50a and 50b of the over-element 50
Since the wind speed can be kept almost constant, the height of the air purifier can be kept to the minimum necessary.
Therefore, it is possible to downsize the air purifier.

Further, both end surfaces 50 of the cylindrical over-element 50
By tilting a and 50b, a relatively large space (air circulation part) can be formed between the cap 1 and the case 8 as described above, so in order to prevent interference with other parts, the cap 1 and the case 8 can be It is also possible to recess 8 inward.

As described above, in the present invention, when fluid passes through the cross-sectional corrugated portion of the over-element, the support portion suppresses the bending of the cross-sectional corrugated portion toward the fluid outlet side, and furthermore, the outer periphery of the over-element is The center part is securely held between the case and the cap by the fixing means, and between the cap and the support frame, so that fluid passage, vibration, etc.
It is possible to prevent the material from shaking and reliably prevent deformation and damage to the corrugated section.
