It is necessary to assemble the two ends by welding 3 and 4 at two places, which requires many assembly steps and takes time to manufacture. In addition, in the conventional example shown in Fig. 2, the parts are butt-welded compared to other parts. Since the strength of No. 6 was low, the stress of torsion and lateral load was concentrated there, which caused the problem of failure.

An insertion part is provided at one end of the above-mentioned both end openings, and the insertion part is press-fitted so that the entire outer peripheral surface is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the other end opening, and the insertion part has a diameter that is approximately equal to the inner diameter of the other end opening. The insertion part is formed by compressing the outer diameter to the extent that the insertion part is fitted to the other end opening to form a joint part, and a bracket or free hinge support plate for installing a reclining device is attached to the joint part and both upper and lower sides of the joint part. It is made by fixing.

In addition to improving workability by eliminating the need for butt welding. Moreover, since the outside diameter of the joint is the same as the outside diameter of the hollow member, when the joint and both sides above and below it are fixed to a reclining device mounting bracket or free hinge support plate, the joint and both sides above and below it It can be securely attached to a bracket, etc., with no step between the two. The joint portion is further reinforced by fixing the brackets and the like.

0, the other end opening 21 is drawn to a required length and has an outer diameter that is approximately equal to the inner diameter of the one end opening 20 to form an insertion part 22, which is inserted into the other end opening 20. The insertion part 22 is drawn so that it matches and fits into the inner circumferential surface of the opening 20 at one end, so when the openings at both ends are connected, the insertion part 22 fits into the inner circumferential surface of the opening 20 at one end. On the other hand, the joint portion 11 is press-fitted so as to abut over the entire circumferential surface, thereby forming a joint portion 11 strong enough to withstand loads in the front-rear direction. The joint portion 11 of the first embodiment shown in FIG. 5 is located on the side of the frame 10 as shown in FIG. By welding the bracket 12 or the free hinge support plate 14, it is possible to sufficiently resist torsional and longitudinal forces.
