(Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to a guide tube for a filler metal wire in a welding machine, in particular, to generate an electric arc between an electrode and a welded part, and to heat the filler metal to a high enough temperature to melt it. Regarding guide tubes used for (Prior Art) Conventionally, in the above-mentioned welding, for example, a wire-shaped filler material is unwound from a reel and immediately used for welding. In such methods, the wire may act as an electrode for forming the arc, or in some cases may not act as an electrode. For accurate welding, the tip of the filler metal wire must be guided in a suitable manner into the weld. That is, without twisting the wire,
It must be moved smoothly and along the weld line. Typically, the filler metal wire is inserted from the rear end of the guide tube and slightly protrudes from the front end of the guide tube so as to be in a suitable position relative to the weld. Since the holes in the guide tubes tend to wear quickly, various holding devices have been proposed to ensure smooth contact between the wire and the inner wall of the holes. This holding device is particularly useful for filler metal guide tubes in which electrical current is applied to the wire. Such a guide tube is called a contact tube. (Problems to be Solved by the Invention) Conventional guide tubes have had several drawbacks in operation. In particular, arcing occurred within the bore of the guide tube, puncturing the inner wall and impairing electrical contact. Further, the conventional holding device has a very complicated structure and is expensive. Furthermore, since this device is large in size as a whole, it is difficult to use it inside a nozzle for spraying gas onto the welded portion. In such conventional guide tubes, substances scattered from the welded parts due to the turbulent flow accelerated by the gas jet adhere and accumulate. Such thrown-off material causes harmful interactions between the guide tube and the tip of the filler metal wire. Also, as the material solidifies, metal builds up and blocks the outlet of the gas nozzle, creating an undesirable arc between the guide tube surface and the nozzle. Such arcs have harmful effects, especially in machines with automatic arc current systems. According to the present invention, the above-mentioned problems are solved, and a guide tube with a long life and a good welding condition is provided. (Means for Solving the Problems) The first feature of the filler metal wire guide tube of the welding machine, particularly the electric arc welding machine, according to the present invention is that the wall surface of the cylindrical body has a long hole for guiding the filler metal wire. a hole that is perpendicular to and communicates with the elongated hole,
The hole is biased by an elastic member to project into the elongated hole, thereby elastically pressing the filler wire passed through the elongated hole against the opposing surface of the elongated hole. A guide tube for a filler metal wire in a welding machine, particularly an electric arc welding machine, comprising a pressing member, the elastic member being a spiral conical compression spring, and the compression spring being pressed against a wall of a cylindrical body. is completely fitted into the hole within a thickness range of . A compression spring is not a cylindrical spring in which spiral spirals overlap each other when compressed, but a conical spiral spring; when compressed, a small spiral is created inside a large spiral. is fitted in, resulting in a smaller size. Such a conical compression spring and a pressure member, preferably a ball, are accommodated in the bore. Both should be placed so that they do not protrude from the wall of the cylinder.
It is designed to fit within the wall thickness. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pressure member is made of an electrically insulating material or at least its surface is coated with such a material. Further, the elastic member is similarly covered with an electrically insulating material.
Thereby, there is no possibility that the pressing member or the elastic member will generate an arc. In one preferred embodiment, a hole for receiving a compression spring is provided in the outer circumferential surface of the guide tube. This hole is closed by a lid tube that covers the guide tube. The largest spiral portion of the conical compression spring contacts the lid cylinder.
The lid tube prevents metal from ejecting from the welded portion and adhering to the outer peripheral surface of the front end of the guide tube. Further, the guide tube is electrically insulated by the cover tube. This prevents the generation of secondary arcs, as well as prevents solidified weld metal from accumulating and clogging the outlet of the gas injection nozzle, and prevents the filler metal wire from adhering to the guide tube. Ru. A second feature of the guide tube for the filler metal wire of a welding machine, especially an electric arc welding machine, according to the present invention is that the front end of the cylinder is made of a refractory material such as ceramic and serves as a passage for the filler metal wire. Abutting an end member comprising a hole, a rear cylinder part supported by a rim bent inward at the front end of a lid cylinder covering the cylinder, and a front cylinder part protruding from the front end of the lid cylinder. It is that you are. The end piece prevents the filler wire, to which weld metal has accidentally adhered, from entering the elongated hole of the guide tube and degrading its quality. Preferably, the end member tapers toward the tip. This tapered tip facilitates welding within recesses such as grooves present on the surface of the weld. In some embodiments, the rear barrel portion of the end member has a larger diameter than its front barrel portion, and a shoulder is provided therebetween. This shoulder is supported by an inwardly directed rim at the front end of the lid tube. The rear barrel portion of the end member held by the front end of the cap tube may move to some extent within the cap tube. This makes it easy to place the end member on the axis of the elongated hole of the guide tube. The free movement of the end member allows it to be installed without blocking the path of the filler metal wire. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the diameter of the hole in the end member is
It is not constant in the axial direction. This prevents metal particles generated by melting the filler metal wire from adhering to the inner surface of the hole. If the diameter of the pores is constant, metal particles will adhere to the end member, forming a conductive film along the length of the end member. Such a conductive membrane creates an electrical arc on the inner wall of the hole in the end member. With pores of non-uniform diameter, as in the present invention, metal particles adhere only to the narrowest part of the pore. It is further advantageous if the bore tapers either forwardly or backwardly. (Example) Hereinafter, it will be explained based on the drawings. FIG. 1 shows an electric arc welding machine operated by either the metal active gas method (MAG) or the metal inert gas method (MIG). This electric arc welding machine includes a metal head 12. The lower end of the metal head 12 forms a nozzle 13. A gas stream 15 flows through the nozzle chamber 14 in the direction of the arrow. This gas is either active or inert relative to the solvent used. Bottom end 16 of nozzle 13
is open above the base material 17, and a welded portion 18 is formed on the base material 17. An electrode arc 20 is formed between the tip of the filler metal wire 23 and the base material 17. With this arc,
The welded portion 18 becomes extremely hot, and the tip 22 of the filler wire 23 is gradually melted. Filler wire 23 is held near tip 22 by contact tube 25 . This contact tube 25 is attached on the longitudinal axis of the nozzle chamber 14 . At the upper end of the contact tube 25, there is a male threaded portion 2.
6, and is screwed into a conductive support tube 30 having a long hole 32. The two wheels 33 push out the tip 22 of the wire 23. That is, two wheels 33
As a result, the wire 23 is unwound from the reel 35, passed through the elongated hole 32 of the support tube 30, and inserted into the hole of the contact tube 25.
The tip 22 of No. 3 protrudes. The support tube 30 is supplied with electricity by a cable 38 which has one end connected to a power source and the other end connected to the base material 17 via a conductor 39. A hole in the contact tube 25 is drilled to fit the filler metal wire 23. The wires described below are guided and powered in contact with this hole. An annular chamber 40 is provided around the support tube 30 and communicates with an introduction hole 42 formed in the wall of the head 12. A gas supply pipe 44 for supplying gas suitable for welding is connected to the introduction hole 42 . The annular chamber 40 has a longitudinally extending hole 46.
It communicates with the nozzle chamber 14 via. This hole 46 is provided in an insulating material 48, and the support tube 30 and the main body of the head 12 are electrically insulated by this insulating material 48. The tip of the nozzle 13 is slightly tapered. A ceramic end piece 50 at the tip of the contact tube 25 is centrally located within the nozzle chamber 14. This ceramic end member 50 will be described in detail later. A tip 22 of a filler metal wire 23 protrudes from the tip of the contact tube 25 . The electrode arc 20 and the weld 18 cause a gas flow 1 flowing in the nozzle in the direction of the arrow.
exposed to 5. FIG. 2 shows an electric arc welding apparatus 60 used in the tungsten inert gas (TIG) process. Electrode 62 is arranged along the longitudinal axis of nozzle 64 . Via this nozzle 64 a gas stream 65 is directed in the direction of the base material 70 to be welded in the direction of the arrow. The tip 71 of the tungsten electrode 62 is located within the aperture of the nozzle 64. Electrode 62 and base material 7
Electricity flows through the electrode 62, thereby generating an arc between the tip 71 of the electrode 62 and the welded portion 72 of the base material 70. 75 is a filler metal wire. Filler metal wire 7
The tip 76 of 5 traverses the arc near the tip of electrode 62 located in the aperture of nozzle 64 . The filler metal wire 75 is guided by a guide tube 78 . A ceramic end member 79 is provided at the tip of the guide tube 78. FIG. 3 shows a contact tube 25 with a cylindrical body 80 made of a conductive metal such as copper. The contact tube 25 has a long hole 82 extending in the longitudinal direction across a front end surface 85 and a rear end surface 83. The diameter of the elongated hole 82 is constant except near the rear end of the contact tube 25. Near the rear end, a long hole 8
An inverted conical hole 83 is provided through a hole 86 larger than 2. This makes it easy to insert the filler metal wire 23. As you go from the rear end surface 83 to the front end surface 85,
The following portions are formed on the outer surface of the cylindrical body 80. That is, a male threaded portion 26, a cylindrical portion 8 having two opposing parallel surfaces so that a spanner can be caught thereon.
8, a shoulder portion 92, and a front cylinder portion 90. A circumferential groove 93 is provided near the shoulder portion 92 of the front cylinder portion 90. The front cylinder portion 90 of the contact tube 25 has two tapered holes 95, front and rear, perpendicular to the axis. A small diameter inner end of the tapered hole 95 communicates with the elongated hole 82 . The large diameter outer end of the tapered hole 95 is connected to the shoulder 92.
It is located approximately in the middle of the front cylinder portion 90 between the front end surface 85 and the front end surface 85 . A ball 96 having a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of its small diameter end is fitted into each tapered hole 95 from the outside as a pressing member. The balls 96 are each pushed in the direction of the elongated hole 82 by a compression spring 97 as an elastic member. This compression spring 97 is a conical spiral spring in which the portion pressed by the ball 96 has a small diameter. The large diameter portion, which is the spiral end of the compression spring 97, approximately matches the large diameter end of the tapered hole 95, and is held by the lid cylinder 100, which has an inner diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the front cylinder portion 90. The front end surface 85 of the cylinder body 80 is connected to the lid cylinder 10.
0, the front cylinder part 90 is covered by the lid cylinder 100. The lid cylinder 100 has a length such that the rear end 102 comes into contact with the shoulder part 92 when fully inserted into the front cylinder part 90. The wall thickness of the lid tube 100 is preferably such that the outer circumferential surface of the lid tube 100 is continuous with the cylindrical portion 88 of the cylinder body 80 without a step when the lid tube 100 is fitted. Ceramic end member 50 is a single block consisting of two sections of different diameters. That is, it consists of a small diameter front cylinder part 120 and a large diameter rear cylinder part 110,
A hole 115 of a constant diameter is drilled. The rear face 112 of the end piece 50 faces towards the contact tube 25 . This rear surface 112 abuts the front end surface 85 of the cylindrical body 80 . Rear cylinder part 110 of end member 50
The cover tube 1 is arranged so that it can fit into the cover tube 100.
It is approximately the same diameter as the inner diameter of 00. The front cylinder part 120 is
Slightly smaller in diameter than the rear cylinder part 112, they are
They are connected via the shoulder portion 118. The front end of the lid tube 100 is partially closed by a rim 104 facing inward. When fitted together, the front cylinder part 120 of the end member 50 projects approximately 5 mm beyond the hole 105 inside the rim 104 on the front surface of the lid cylinder 100. When the contact tube 25 is assembled, the cover tube 100 is attached to the shoulder portion 9.
2, the ceramic end member 50 is held by the front end surface 85 of the cylinder 80, and the compression spring 9
7 is held within the tapered hole 95. When operating the apparatus shown in FIG.
As a result, the filler metal wire 23 is guided smoothly within the elongated hole 82 without being twisted. The filler wire 23 is pressed by the ball 96 to suitably electrically connect to the inner wall surface of the elongated hole 82 facing the tapered hole 95 . The strength of the spring applied to the ball 95 is such that when the ball 96 pushes the filler metal wire 23 in the elongated hole 82 inward, it pushes the filler metal wire 23 against the opposing inner surface 99 of the elongated hole 82. and press firmly. The filler wire 23 then passes through the end piece 50 and its tip 22 projects completely straight and to the required length, which tip 22 faces the weld at the exit of the nozzle 22 . FIG. 8 is an enlarged view of a portion including the ball 96. The ball 96-1 presses the small diameter portion 130-1,
It slightly protrudes into the elongated hole 82 from the tapered hole 95-1. At this position, the ball 96-1 is pressed within the elongated hole 82 and is in contact with the filler metal wire 23. As shown, the filler wire 23 is attached to the ball 9
6-2 from the small diameter part 130-2, and remove the cylindrical body 8.
0 in the direction of the large diameter portion 131-2 of the tapered hole 95-2 provided in the front cylinder portion 90. The movement of balls 96-1 and 96-2 is absorbed by conical compression springs 97, respectively.
Since the compression spring 97 forming a conical spiral can be wound inside, a sufficient compression spring action is exerted within a relatively thin portion of the wall surface of the contact tube 25. Although the compression spring 97 itself is not shown in FIG. 8, its compressed length C and extended length C' are shown. Since there is a difference between them, the absolute length is relatively small. In the embodiment, the outer diameter A of the contact tube 25 is 6 mm, the diameter F of the filler metal wire 23 is 1.6 mm, the inner diameter of the elongated hole 82 is 2 mm, the diameter of the ball 96 is 2 mm, and the small diameter portion 130
The diameter of is 1.8mm. C and C′ are each 0.4mm
and 0.6mm. The following table illustrates preferred dimensions for the portion shown in FIG. In all these examples,
The diameter of the ball is 2mm, and the diameter of the small diameter part 130 is 1.8mm.
It is. H is the uncompressed height of the compression spring 97, and a is the apex angle of the conical shape of the compression spring. All lengths are in (mm).

[Table] By using a conical compression spring 97,
The filler metal wire is sufficiently compressed to make suitable electrical contact with the contact tube. Also, the wear and misalignment between the filler metal wire and the contact tube is reduced even after extended use of the ball. For example, when a conical compression spring with an unpressurized length of 3 mm is pressed, it will be compressed by 0.4 mm to 0.6 mm. This causes the compression spring to become substantially flat. That is, each spiral is inside a larger spiral,
Each spiral falls within a larger spiral. In this example, the diameter of the filler metal wire is 0.25
mm, the inner diameter of the smallest spiral of the compression spring is 1 mm, and the outer diameter of the largest spiral is 2.3 mm, and has three spirals. This configuration allows the holding device to be enclosed. That is, the balls 96 and the compression springs 97 are arranged on the wall surface of the cylinder 80 inside the lid cylinder 100 without providing slots in the lid cylinder or protrusions that would obstruct the gas flow flowing through the nozzle 13. sell. Tapered hole 95 may be drilled using a conical drill bit. This device must be constructed in such a way that it does not protrude from contact tubes with a wall thickness of less than 1.8 mm. Depending on the properties of the metal and the diameter of the filler wire,
There may be only one ball. This is especially the case for soft metals such as aluminum and its alloys. As shown in FIG. 3, there may be two or more balls. One of the main advantages of the retaining device is that during use, the filler metal wire 23 and the contact tube 2 remain intact even when the contact tube wears out.
Good electrical contact is maintained between the long hole 82 of No. 5 and the long hole 82 of No. 5. In particular, arcing within the contact tube can be prevented. Such arcs can puncture or burn walls, causing poor electrical contact. Using two balls as shown increases the area of contact between the filler metal wire and the contact tube along the axis of the contact tube, reducing friction and wear. Ball 96 is preferably made of a hard, electrically insulating material. For example, ball 96 may be made of hardened glass, ceramic, ruby, synthetic sapphire, or the like. The insulating material reduces the chance of arcing within the contact tube 25. Ruby balls, although more expensive, are extremely hard and have a much longer lifespan. Compression spring 97 is preferably made of fire-resistant stainless steel, Inconel, or nimo-nick alloy that can withstand high temperatures. Its surface is preferably coated with chromium dioxide or the like by spraying or heat treatment so as to be electrically insulating.
This reduces the risk of arcing within the tube and improves operation and service life. In conventional guide tubes, corrosive and parasitic electric arcs interfered with the smooth movement of the filler wire, resulting in uneven welds. The lid tube 100 is preferably made of fire-resistant steel that can withstand temperatures up to 1100° C., for example. This lid tube 100
Completely cover both the front and back sides with an electrically insulating material such as chromium dioxide in the same manner as for compression springs. As a result, as shown in FIG. 1, even when metal droplets splashed from the welded portion 18 during welding enter the nozzle 13, they do not adhere to the lid cylinder 100. Therefore, solids do not accumulate in the contact tube 25, and the flow path of the gas blown out from the nozzle is not obstructed. Therefore, no parasitic arc occurs between the contact tube 25 and the nozzle 13. Furthermore, the lid cylinder 100 insulates the main body of the cylinder 80, particularly the apparatus main body. The nozzle 13 itself is preferably coated with ceramic. If the nozzle is made of metal such as copper or brass, e.g.
It is best to spray the ceramic powder onto the nozzle using a spray device such as CHPOLANSKY. This coating is provided on the inside and outside of the nozzle and on the inlet. With this ceramic coating,
It is protected from splashes of molten metal from the welded portion and is electrically insulated, and the splashes do not adhere to the coated surface of the nozzle. Although not shown, a cover having a hole through which the tip of the filler metal wire 23 passes may be attached to the front end surface 85 of the cylindrical body 80, and this may be covered with the lid cylinder 100. The lid tube 100 is a single member made of ceramic material. The advantages of the preferred embodiment of FIGS. 1-3 having ceramic end members 50 are as follows. In other words, even if the tip 22 of the filler metal wire 23 hits something, the molten metal will flow through the contact tube 2.
5 and does not adhere to the ceramic end member 50. Although the end of the lid tube 100 is thin, due to the presence of the ceramic end member 50,
It is thus protected against very high temperatures. In the preferred embodiment shown in FIG.
It is elongated and tapered. End member 15
0 is held at the front end of the cylinder body 80 by the lid cylinder 100 described above. The front cylindrical portion 154 of the end member 150 is tapered, and its large diameter rear end is connected to the rear cylindrical portion 152 via the shoulder portion 153. Front cylinder part 154
The length of is 100mm. The shoulder portion 153 is the lid tube 10
0 abuts the inwardly facing rim 104 at the front end of 0. The filler wire 23 is connected to the hole 156 following the elongated hole 82.
is passing through. Tip 22 of filler metal wire 23
protrudes from the small diameter tip of the front cylinder portion 154. Because the end member 150 is shaped like this, for example, when welding at the bottom of the groove 160 of the base material 162,
Particularly suitable. The end member 150 allows the groove 160
Metal buildup at the bottom of the contact tube 25 and filler metal wire melting and sticking to the end of the contact tube 25 is prevented. This taper facilitates gas flow from the nozzle to the bottom of the groove 160 to be welded. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the lid cylinder 100 is elastically engaged with the cylinder body 80 by locking parts (not shown) provided at three locations in the circumferential groove 93 of the front cylinder part 90. There is. This allows the compression spring 97 to be held in place in the tapered hole 95. In addition, the end member 50 is held at the front end of the cylindrical body 80. The end member 190 shown in FIG. 5 includes a rear cylindrical portion 192 having a diameter that can fit into the tip of the elongated hole 82 of the cylindrical body 80. This end member 190 has a cylindrical shape and has a rear cylindrical portion 192.
It is provided with a large diameter portion 194 having a larger diameter. The large diameter portion 194 has a method such that it abuts the end of the cylinder 80 and can enter the inside of the lid cylinder 100 as shown in FIG. The front cylinder portion 196 is tapered in the forward direction. The front cylinder portion 196 has a large diameter portion 194.
Therefore, the hole 1 of the lid cylinder 100
It stands out from 05. Shoulder portion 197 of large diameter portion 194
abuts the rim 104 which is bent inward. In Figures 6 and 7, the same parts as in Figure 3 are shown.
The same reference numerals are given. The end member 200 in FIG.
It is attached to 5. The end member 200 includes a rear cylinder part 202, a front cylinder part 204, and a shoulder part 205 that forms a boundary between these parts. The shoulder portion 205 is in contact with a rim 104 formed by bending inward at the front end of the lid cylinder 100. The rear surface of the end member 200 is in contact with the front end surface 85 of the cylindrical body 80. The diameter of the rear cylinder part 202 is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the lid cylinder 100, and a small space 208 is formed between the two. Similarly, the outer diameter of the front cylinder part 204 of the end member 200 is equal to the diameter of the hole 1 at the end of the lid cylinder 100.
Slightly smaller than the diameter of 05. The end member 200 is attached within the lid tube 100 with some play in the lateral direction. This results in
The end member 200 can easily be aligned with the filler metal wire. The end member 200 has a hole 210 through which the filler wire coming out of the elongated hole 82 can pass. The cross section of hole 210 is not constant. In the embodiment of FIG.
11A is a small diameter hole, and the front end 212A is a large diameter enlarged hole. The diameter of the rear end is equal to the diameter of the elongated hole 82 through which the filler metal wire is guided. In FIG. 7, hole 210 is tapered in the opposite direction from that in FIG. This hole 21
0 has a large diameter rear end 211B and a small diameter front end 212
It has a funnel shape consisting of B. In this way, since the diameter of the hole 210 is not constant,
Molten filler metal wire is prevented from adhering to the entire length of the hole 210. The filler metal wire guide tube described above may be used in welding machines other than that shown in FIG. For example, the welding machine of FIG. 2 does not use a guide tube to supply arc current. This tube guides the filler metal wire 75 to position its tip correctly within the arc without twisting. The ceramic end member 79 is connected to the tip 76 of the wire.
This prevents the wire from welding to the end of the guide tube even if the wire stops accidentally. In order to prevent droplets of molten metal scattered from the welded portion 72 from adhering to the guide tube 78, a protective tube such as the lid tube 100 may be provided to cover the side portion. Wire play removal or prevention devices may be installed.
