is supported by a set of four driven pulleys 10, and its outer surface is pressed against the surface side of the cable 12 that is moved by the drive drum 11, thereby strongly pressing the cable against the drum 11 side. Therefore, this belt needs to apply a strong frictional force to the heavy cable 12, and therefore requires an extremely large tension considering its width. For this reason, normally Fig. 3 (Fig. 2 XX cross section)
As shown in FIG. 1, a belt 1B is used, which is made of a core material 2 made of a uniaxially stretched polyamide sheet and chrome tanned cowhide 3, 3 attached to both sides of the core material 2.

せない問題である。(Problems with the Prior Art) However, an extremely large tension acts on the belt 1B. Although this tension can be sufficiently withstood by the stretched polyamide core material 2, in the width direction of the belt which has not been stretched, it easily succumbs to the tension and deforms. As a result, the belt 1B is curved in an arc shape in the portion where it comes in contact with the cable 12, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. In this figure, belt 1B is connected to line X-X in the same figure.
It will be in a flat state like this. As a result, this belt is constantly subjected to repeated bending and stretching as the drum 11 rotates, that is, as the belt 1B moves, and longitudinal cracks occur relatively early, making it unusable. Therefore, in order to improve the above problems, rubber layers (5, 5'; the rubber layer 5' on the cable contact side is thicker) are applied to both sides of the polyamide core material 2 through canvas layers 4, 4. The rubber layer 5' has an arc-shaped recess 6 (1D; Fig. 6), etc., but both of them are shown in Fig. 3. A sufficient improvement effect cannot be achieved compared to those shown in FIGS. 4 to 4. In particular, the last one, 1D,
Although this seems reasonable at first glance, it is a problem that cannot be overlooked in practice, as the effectiveness varies depending on the curvature of the target cable, and it is necessary to replace the belt itself to obtain the optimal result.

達した。(Structure of the invention) As a result of various thoughts and attempts to achieve the above purpose, the inventor of the present invention found that there is no material superior to chrome tanned cowhide in terms of bendability. The chrome tanned cowhide is
The belt is flexible and exhibits a large coefficient of friction against the rubber and synthetic resin that is used to cover the cable. However, excessive bending in the transverse direction is the main cause of shortening the belt's lifespan. Therefore, a material that is more flexible than chrome-tanned cowhide is used for the contact surface with the cable. "The focus of the problem is to do so."

In other words, tannin-tanned cowhide not only has almost the same bending resistance as chrome-tanned cowhide, but also has comparable friction against cables, and is also strong, so there is a risk of excessive bending. Therefore, a belt using this has the potential to be an excellent capstan belt.

The durability was more than doubled, and its effectiveness was confirmed.

Further, as the stretched synthetic resin sheet for the core material, a sheet having a thickness of about 1 to 4 mm is preferably used. The synthetic resin sheet for the core material is most commonly a single-layer or laminated polyamide sheet, but if necessary, aromatic polyamide or polyamide sheets or carbon fibers, wires, glass fibers, or silicone fibers may be added between the laminated sheets. A high tensile strength yarn such as the following may be interposed as a longitudinal strength reinforcing material.

This pressure contact state is closer to line contact than the case shown in FIG. 4, but since the frictional force against the cable increases accordingly, slips are less likely to occur even when the cable is fed at high speed. In addition, the degree of curvature that occurs in the belt is much smaller than in the known belts of FIGS. 3-4, thereby significantly extending the life of the belt compared to conventional products.

This belt is used with the backing layer 7 in contact with the cable 12, and the action of the backing layer 7 prevents excessive curving when the cable comes into contact, so the belt is three times longer than conventional belts. Has a long lifespan.
