Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は被覆方法に関する。
従来鋼管やケーブルの接続部、端部等を防食、
防水、保護するために、熱収縮性シートを巻き付
け、重ね合せ部に粘着剤層もしくはホツトメルト
接着剤層が設けられた固定用シートを積層し、粘
着剤もしくはホツトメルト接着剤で熱収縮性シー
トを固定し、しかるのち加熱収縮せしめることに
よつて被覆している。
しかしながら上記被覆方法では、熱収縮性フイ
ルムを加熱して収縮せしめるので、収縮の際に粘
着剤層もしくはホツトメルト接着剤層も加熱さ
れ、粘着もしくは接着部にズレが生じ剥離すると
いう欠点があつた。
本発明は上記欠点に鑑み、熱収縮性フイルムを
加熱して収縮せしめる際に、ズレが生じて剥離す
ることなく被覆する方法を提供せんとしてなされ
たものであつて、その要旨は、熱収縮性シート
を、両端部が重り合うかもしくは隣接するように
被覆対象物に巻付け、該重ね合せ部もしくは隣接
部に固定用熱可塑性樹脂シートを重ね合せ、該熱
可塑性シートの表側の両端部付近に設けられた火
薬層を燃焼することにより、該熱可塑性樹脂シー
トの両端部付近と上記熱収縮性シートの両端部付
近とを接着し、上記熱収縮性シートを加熱により
収縮せしめることを特徴とする被覆方法に存す
る。
本発明における熱収縮性シートとしては熱収縮
性を有する任意のシートが使用でき、たとえばポ
リエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリ塩化ビニル、
エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体、エチレン−エチ
ルアクリレート共重合体、シリコンゴム、エチレ
ン−プロピレンゴム等で製されたシートを延伸加
工して加熱収縮性が付与されたシートがあげら
れ、該シートは架橋されていると耐熱性が向上す
るので好ましく、特に架橋ポリエチレンシートで
製されているのが好ましい。
又火薬を燃焼することによつて接着する端部付
近をのぞいて熱収縮性シートの一面に、被覆対象
物との密着性、防水性、防食性等を向上せしめる
ために接着剤、粘着剤、防食材料等を積層しても
よい。
上記接着剤としては、たとえばエチレン−酢酸
ビニル共重合体、スチレン−ブタジエン共重合
体、スチレン−イソプレン共重合体、エチレン−
エチルアクリレート共重合体、ポリエチレン等を
主体とするホツトメルト型接着剤があげられ、上
記粘着剤としては天然ゴム、ブチルゴム、クロロ
プレン等を主体とするゴム系粘着剤、アクリル系
粘着剤などがあげられる。
又上記防食材料としては、上記接着剤や粘着剤
はアスフアルトや防錆顔料を添加したもの、ペト
ロラタム等があげられる。
本発明における熱可塑性樹脂シートは熱可塑性
を有する樹脂で製されたシートであればよいが、
上記熱収縮性シートと熱融着しやすいものが好ま
しく、たとえばポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、
ポリ塩化ビニル、エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合
体、エチレン−エチルアクリレート共重合体、シ
リコンゴム、エチレン−プロピレンゴム等があげ
られ、熱収縮性シートを構成する樹脂と同一の樹
脂で製されるのが好ましい。
本発明における火薬としては、たとえば黒色火
薬、無煙火薬等があげられ、火薬を厚紙等にしみ
こませて火薬層を形成してもよい。火薬層は固定
用の熱可塑性樹脂シートの表側の両端部付近に予
め設けられていてもよいし、熱可塑性樹脂シート
を、熱収縮性シートを被覆対象物に巻付けて形成
された重ね合せ部もしくは隣接部に重ね合せた後
設けられてもよい。
又火薬を燃焼させた際に、熱が長時間たくわえ
られ、かつ均一に伝達されるように、アルミニウ
ム板、鋼板等の一面に火薬を積層した積層シート
として用いられるのが好ましい。
又熱可塑性樹脂シートの裏側には、熱収縮性シ
ートに仮着するために、火薬層を設ける部分を除
いて上述の粘着剤、接着剤等が積層されてもよ
い。
次に図面を参照して本発明を説明する。第1図
は本発明の被覆方法を示す断面図である。図中1
は被覆する鋼管である。2は熱収縮性シートであ
り、一面に感圧性粘着剤層3が積層されている。
4は固定用の熱可塑性樹脂シートであり、表側の
両端部付近に鋼板51,51′の一面に火薬層5
2,52′が積層された積層シート5,5′の鋼板
51,51′が熱可塑性樹脂シート4に当接する
ように設けられており、裏側の積層シート5,
5′が設けられていない部分に感圧性粘着剤層6
が積層されている。
被覆するには、まず熱収縮性シート2を粘着剤
層3が内側になり、両端部が重り合うように鋼管
1に巻きつけ、重ね合せ部21に粘着剤層6が内
側になり、積層シート5が熱収縮性シート2の一
端部付近に位置し、積層シート5′が熱収縮性シ
ート2の他端部付近に位置するように熱可塑性樹
脂シート4を重ね合せて仮着する。次に火薬層5
2,52′に着火すると、火薬の燃焼熱によつて
積層シート5,5′直下の熱可塑性シート4の両
端部付近と、熱収縮性シート2の両端部付近とが
接着される。接着部分が冷却後、熱収縮性シート
2全体をバーナー等によつて加熱し、収縮せしめ
ることによつて被覆は完了する。
なお熱収縮性シート2は端部が隣接するように
被覆対象物に巻付けてもよい。
又熱収縮性シート2の接着をより確実にするた
めに第2図に示したようなはさみ治具を用いても
よい。図中53及び54は蝶番55で接続された
硬質板状体であり、板状体53の内側に積層シー
ト5の火薬層52が当接するように積層されてい
る。このはさみ治具で熱収縮性シート2と熱可塑
性樹脂シート4を接着するには、熱収縮性シート
2と熱可塑性樹脂シート4と板状体53及び54
ではさみ、積層シート5を熱可塑性樹脂シート4
に押圧して、着火、燃焼せしめ、接着部が冷却後
取り除けばよい。
本発明の構成は上述の通りであり、火薬を燃焼
することにより、熱可塑性樹脂シートの両端部付
近と、被覆対象物に巻付けられた熱収縮性シート
の両端部付近とを接着するのであるから、熱可塑
性樹脂と熱収縮性シートは確実かつ強固に接着さ
れ、熱収縮性シートを収縮する際にずれたり、剥
離することがなく、又施工も重ね合せて着火する
だけであり、容易である。
次に本発明を実施例により説明する。
実施例 1 厚さ1.2mmの架橋ポリエチレン製熱収縮性シー
トの一面にブチルゴムを主体とする粘着剤層を積
層し、第1図に示したように両端部が重り合うよ
うに鋼管に巻付けた。
次に表側両端部付近に、巾5mm、厚さ0.1mmの
鋼板に巾5mm、厚さ5mmの厚紙に無煙火薬をしみ
込ませた火薬層を積層した積層シートが積層さ
れ、裏側に、両端部付近5mm巾を残してブチルゴ
ムを主体とする粘着剤層が形成された、架橋ポリ
エチレンシートを第1図に示すように重ね合せ、
火薬層に着火し、燃焼直後に積層シートの上から
鋼鉄製ロールで圧着して、架橋ポリエチレンシー
トの両端部と上記熱収縮性シートの両端部付近を
熱融着した。
融着部分が冷却後、プロパンガスバーナーで熱
収縮性シートを加熱したところ融着部分がずれた
り、粘着剤がしみでることなく均一に収縮し、鋼
管を被覆することができた。又収縮後被覆部分を
水に浸漬しても被覆部分に水が浸透することはな
かつた。
実施例 2 厚さ1.2mmの架橋エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合
体製熱収縮性シートの一面にエチレン−酢酸ビニ
ル共重合体を主体とするホツトメルト製接着剤層
を積層し、第1図に示したように、両端部が重り
合うように鋼管に巻きつけ、裏側に、両端部付近
5mm巾を残してエチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体を
主体とするホツトメルト型接着剤層を積層した架
橋エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体シートを上記重
ね合せ部に重ね合せた。
次に第2図に示したように、巾5mm厚さ0.1mm
の鋼板に、巾5mm厚さ5mmの厚紙に無煙火薬をし
み込ませた火薬層を積層した積層シートの火薬層
を巾10mmの鉄製板状体に固定して作成したはさみ
治具で、上記共重合体シートの一端部と熱収縮性
シートの一端部を鋼板が共重合体シートに当接す
るようにはさみ、火薬層に着火し、燃焼して共重
合体シートの一端部と熱収縮性シートの一端部を
熱融着し、同様にして共重合体シートの他端部と
熱収縮性シートの他端部を熱融着した。
はさみ治具が冷却後、はさみ治具を取り除き、
プロパンガスバーナーで熱収縮性フイルムを加熱
したところ重ね合せ部がずれることなく均一に収
縮し、鋼管を被覆することができた。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 熱収縮性シートを、両端部が重り合うかもし
    くは隣接するように被覆対象物に巻付け、該重ね
    合せ部もしくは隣接部に固定用熱可塑性樹脂シー
    トを重ね合せ、該熱可塑性樹脂シートの表側の両
    端部付近に設けられた火薬層を燃焼することによ
    り、該熱可塑性樹脂シートの両端部付近と上記熱
    収縮性シートの両端部付近とを接着し、上記熱収
    縮性シートを加熱により収縮せしめることを特徴
    とする被覆方法。
