Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は被覆方法に関する。
従来鋼管やケーブルの接続部、端部等を防食、
防水、保護するために、熱収縮性シートを巻き付
け、重ね合せ部に粘着剤層もしくはホツトメルト
接着剤層が設けられた固定用シートで積層し、粘
着剤もしくはホツトメルト接着剤で熱収縮性シー
トを固定し、しかるのち加熱収縮せしめることに
よつて被覆している。
しかしながら上記被覆方法では、熱収縮性フイ
ルムを加熱して収縮せしめるので、収縮の際に粘
着剤層もしくはホツトメルト接着剤層も加熱さ
れ、粘着もしくは接着部にズレが生じ剥離すると
いう欠点があつた。
本発明は上記欠点に鑑み、熱収縮性フイルムを
加熱して収縮せしめる際に、ズレが生じて剥離す
ることなく被覆する方法を提供せんとしてなされ
たものであつて、その要旨は一方の端部付近に火
薬層が形成された熱収縮性シートを、該火薬層が
該シート重ね合せ部の表になるように被覆対象物
に巻付けるか、もしくは熱収縮性シートを被覆対
象物に巻付け、重ね合せ部の表面に火薬層を形成
し、火薬層を燃焼することにより、重ね合せ部を
接着し、加熱収縮性シートを収縮せしめることを
特徴とする被覆方法に存する。
本発明における熱収縮性シートとしては熱収縮
性を有する任意シートが使用でき、たとえばポリ
エチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリ塩化ビニル、エ
チレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体、エチレン−エチル
アクリレート共重合体、シリコンゴム、エチレン
−プロピレンゴム等で製されたシートを延伸加工
して加熱収縮性が付与されたシートがあげられ、
該シートは架橋されていると耐熱性が向上するの
で好ましく、特に架橋ポリエチレンシートで製さ
れているのが好ましい。
又火薬を燃焼することによつて接着する端部付
近をのぞいて熱収縮性シートの一面に被覆対象物
との密着性、防水性、防食性等を向上せしめるた
めに接着剤、粘着剤、防食材料等を積層してもよ
い。
上記接着剤としては、たとえばエチレン−酢酸
ビニル共重合体、スチレン−ブタジエン共重合
体、スチレン−イソプレン共重合体、エチレン−
エチルアクリレート共重合体、ポリエチレン等を
主体とするホツトメルト型接着剤があげられ、上
記粘着剤としては天然ゴム、ブチルゴム、クロロ
プレン等を主体とするゴム系粘着剤、アクリル系
粘着剤などがあげられる。
又上記防食材料としては、上記接着剤や粘着剤
にアスフアルトや防錆顔料を添加したもの、ペト
ロラタム等があげられる。
本発明における火薬としては、たとえば黒色火
薬、無煙火薬等があげられ、火薬を厚紙等にしみ
込ませて火薬層を形成してもよい。火薬層は熱収
縮性シートの表面に予め形成されていてもよい
し、熱収縮性シートを被覆対象物に巻付け、重ね
合せ部の表面に形成されてもよい。
次に図面を参照して本発明を説明する。第1図
は本発明の被覆方法の一例を示す断面図である。
図中1は被覆する鋼管である。2は熱収縮性シー
トであり、一面に感圧性粘着剤層3がシート2の
一端部21を残して積層されている。又4は鋼板
41の一面に火薬層42が積層された積層シート
である。
被覆するには、まず熱収縮性シート2を粘着剤
層3が内側になり、一端部21が表側になるよう
に鋼管1に巻付け、重ね合せ部に積層シート4を
鋼板41が熱収縮性シート2に当接するように重
ね合せ、火薬層42に着火する。着火すると火薬
の燃焼熱によつて積層シート4直下の熱収縮性シ
ート2同志が接着されるので、冷却後積層シート
4を剥離し、熱収縮性シート2全体をバーナー等
によつて加熱し、収縮せしめることによつて被覆
が完了する。
又熱収縮性シート2の接着をより確実にするた
めに第2図に示したようなはさみ治具を用いても
よい。図中43及び44は蝶番45で接続された
硬質板状体であり板状体43の内側に積層シート
4の火薬層42が当接するように積層されてい
る。このはさみ治具で熱収縮性シート2を接着す
るには、熱収縮性シート2の重ね合せ部を板状体
43及び44ではさみ、積層シート4を熱収縮性
シート2に押圧して、着火、燃焼せしめ、接着部
分が冷却後取り除けばよい。
本発明の構成は上述の通りであり、火薬を燃焼
することによつて熱収縮性フイルムの重ね合せ部
を接着し、加熱収縮せしめるのであるから、重ね
合せ部は確実かつ強固に接着され加熱により収縮
する際にずれが生じ剥離することがなく、又施工
も重ね合せて着火するだけで良いので容易であ
る。
次に本発明を実施例により説明する。
実施例 1 厚さ1.2mmの架橋ポリエチレン製熱収縮性シー
トの一面に、一端部付近を巾5mm残してブチルゴ
ムを主体とする粘着剤層を積層し、第1図に示し
たように鋼管に巻付けた。次に巾5mm、厚さ0.1
mmの鋼板の一面に厚紙に無煙火薬をしみ込ませた
火薬層が形成された積層シートを、第1図に示し
たように熱収縮性シートの重ね合せ部に重ね合
せ、火薬層に着火し、燃焼直後に積層シート上か
ら鋼鉄製ロールで圧着した。
重ね合せ部が冷却後、プロパンガスバーナーで
熱収縮性シートを加熱したところ重ね合せ部がず
れることなく均一に収縮し、鋼管を被覆すること
ができた。
実施例 2 厚さ1.2mmの架橋エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合
体製熱収縮性シートの一面に、一端部付近を巾5
mm残してエチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体を主体と
するホツトメルト型接着剤層を積層し、第1図に
示したように鋼管に巻付けた。次に実施例1で使
用した積層シート体を巾10mmの鉄板に固定し第2
図に示したようなはさみ治具を作成し、該はさみ
治具で鋼板が重ね合せ部の表側に当接するように
はさみ、火薬層に着火し燃焼して重ね合せ部を接
着した。
はさみ治具が冷却後、はさみ治具を取り除き、
プロパンガスバーナーで熱収縮性シートを加熱し
たところ重ね合せ部がずれることなく均一に収縮
し、鋼管を被覆することができた。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 一方の端部付近に火薬層が形成された熱収縮
    性シートを、該火薬層が該シート重ね合せ部の表
    になるように被覆対象物に巻付けるか、もしくは
    熱収縮性シートを被覆対象物に巻付け、重ね合せ
    部の表面に火薬層を形成し、火薬層を燃焼するこ
    とにより重ね合せ部を接着し、加熱して熱収縮性
    シートを収縮せしめることを特徴とする被覆方
    法。
