For example, stores that sell products on credit have installed electronic cash registers equipped with slip printers, as seen in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 164465/1983, and have many cash registers installed to accommodate customers with credit card contracts. Create a form, and when a customer comes to the store and purchases a product, select the form corresponding to that customer from a large number of forms, set it on the slip printer, and key in the customer number and check number printed on that form. Then, it checks whether the input customer number is correct by matching the check number calculated from the customer number with the input check number, and if it is determined to be correct, the input customer number is Search memory based on. If there is a customer number in the memory, it is determined that the customer has a credit contract, and the registered data is cumulatively registered in the corresponding memory and printed on a form using a slip printer. Note that in the past, the check number was calculated based only on the customer number, so the check number was always the same.

Therefore, we installed a card reader and issued a card such as a magnetic card to each customer with a different customer number memorized. When the customer comes to the store, we receive the card from the customer, read the customer number from the card with the card reader, and enter only the check number as a key. It is easier to operate by inputting information, and the number of key operations is reduced, which reduces the chances of operational errors.

However, in the conventional apparatus described above, the check number is always the same, so in the case of a regular customer, the operator (clerk) may end up memorizing the customer's check number. Therefore, when using the conventional device described above to read the customer number with a card reader, the user receives the card from the customer without checking the check digits printed on the form, reads the customer number with the card reader, and enters the check digits using the keypad. Sometimes things happen.

If you perform such an operation, for example, if you select the wrong form and set another person's form on the slip printer, the check number calculated from the customer number read by the card reader and the check number input by key will be different. Since they match, a problem arises in which the registered data is printed on another person's set form. In other words, if reading the customer number from the card is applied to the conventional device described above,
If an operator memorizes and inputs a customer's check number and then makes a mistake in selecting a form, there is an inconvenience that the data will be printed on someone else's form.

Therefore, the present invention changes the check digit data by calculating the check digit data using changing data including not only the customer number but also the number of print lines, and printing it on the form every time the registration is closed. This prevents the operator from memorizing the data by heart. This allows the operator to always look at the form and input the check digit data, so that the operator can always set the correct form for the customer and print the data. The present invention aims to provide an electronic cash register that can be easily operated by reading a customer number from a card.

In the present invention having such a structure, check digit data is printed on the form together with the customer number when the last registration was completed. When a customer comes to the store, the customer's form is selected and placed in the slip printer, the customer number is read from the card brought by the customer using a card reader, and the check digit data printed on the form is input. . This first checks whether a customer number is set in the customer memory, and if so, then reads the changing data including the customer number and the number of print lines from the corresponding customer memory and calculates the check digit data. ,
The check digit data is compared with the input check digit data. If the form set in the slip printer is different from the one entered at the store, the input check digit data will be different from the check digit data calculated from the corresponding data from the customer memory, and product registration will be permitted. It will not be done. Therefore, there is no risk of accidentally printing registered data on another person's form. Furthermore, if the form set in the slip printer is for a visitor, the entered check digit data matches the check digit data calculated from the corresponding data from the customer memory, so product registration is permitted. become.

When the control switch 5 is in the "setting mode" position, the CPU 11 is in the sixth state.
Perform the new registration process for the form shown in the figure. To do this, set a new form on the slip printer 2, enter a three-digit number using the number keys 41, and press the customer number key 43.
When you enter , the 3-digit number is determined as a customer number, and a check is made to see if this customer number has already been set for another customer. If it has already been set, it will handle the error and prompt you to set it again. In addition, if the input customer number is not set, it is determined that it is valid, and the customer number is stored in the customer number storage area A1 of the customer memory 26 which is vacant, and the check digit data is calculated by the check digit data calculation means. is determined and displayed on the display 6. This check data can be used for example (line counter
LC+previous balance+customer number)÷7 is calculated and the remainder is taken as the remainder. The advance balance is calculated from the deposit amount.
It is calculated by subtracting the total of TAX - TAX and no tax. Therefore, if the 3-digit customer number is "123", the line counter LC and the balance at the time of new registration are zero, so 123÷7=17...4 becomes "4". Then, the customer number and check digit "1234" are printed at the beginning of the set form. In this way, new registration of the form is performed. In addition, in this process, if the number input is not 3 digits, an error process is performed.

First, the customer number input process shown in FIG. 7 is performed prior to the registration process, and when the new registration of the form is completed, the customer number of the customer is read by the card reader 10 from the magnetic card issued to the customer. Then, it is checked whether the read customer number has been set in the customer memory 26, and if it has been set, then the check digit input using the numeric key 41 and the customer number key 43 is checked. This check digit is input by looking at the fourth digit of the customer number printed on the slip printer 2 (which is the check digit) and entering it using a key. Next, the customer number, deposit amount, TAX to TAX amount, non-tax amount, and line count number are read out from the customer memory 26 of that customer, and the check digit is calculated using the check digit data calculation means in the same manner as described above. Check if it matches the check digit you entered. If they match, it is determined that the correct form corresponding to the customer has been set, and the form is fed to a predetermined line based on the contents of the line counter LC. This is the first and second printer controller 21, 2
This is done by driving 3. If the check digits do not match, it is determined that another person's form has been set and an error process is performed.

When the feeding of the form set in the slip printer 2 is completed, the CPU 11 then executes the operations shown in FIGS. 8 and 9.
Allow the registration process shown in the figure. (Registration permission means)
In this state, department registration based on product sales data input from the keyboard 4 and financial registration such as the number of customers and number of key inputs for cash management are performed. Furthermore, register the customer file. This customer file registration updates the contents of the amount storage area A 3 in the case of an advance payment, and updates the contents of the previous month balance storage area A 10 in the case of a previous balance deposit. Then, the details of the deposit are printed on the form set in the slip printer 2, and the line counter LC is updated. Furthermore, a customer number with the date and newly calculated check digit as the fourth digit is printed on the form, and the line counter LC is updated. Also, credit key 44
When the credit is closed, the date and the customer number with the newly calculated new check digit as the fourth digit are printed on the form, and the line counter LC is updated. Also, when a normal product is registered as a department, the records in any of the TAX amount cumulative area A 4 to TAX amount cumulative area A 8 and tax-free amount cumulative area A 9 are updated depending on the type of product, and is printed on the form and the line counter LC is updated.

With this kind of configuration, for example, the first
As shown in Figure 0, if a customer number with a check digit called KD-1232 is printed on the 12th line, when the customer corresponding to this form comes to the store, the customer's magnetic card is inserted into the card reader. 10, the customer's number "123" is input. The operator also searches the file for the customer's form, sets it on the slip printer 2, and at that time enters the fourth digit of the newest customer number printed on the form, ie, "2". On the other hand, by inputting the customer number "123", the CPU 11 inputs the customer number "123" into the customer memory 26 where that number is stored.
Search for that customer number, deposit amount, TAX ~
Calculate the check digit from the tax amount, tax-free amount, and line counter contents. For example, if the balance calculated from the deposit amount, TAX~TAX amount, and tax-free amount is 9723, and the line count number of the line counter is 12, then 123 + 9723 + 12 = 9858.
9858÷7=1408...2, and since the required check digit matches the check digit input in "2", the form set in the slip printer 2 is the correct form corresponding to the customer. At this time, if you set another person's invoice on the slip printer 2, the fourth digit of the newest customer number printed on that invoice will naturally be something other than "2", so the check digit you enter is "2". Other than that. Therefore, since the input check digit and the calculated check digit do not match, an error occurs and the operator is informed that another person's form has been set by mistake. Therefore, the operator can search for the correct form again and set it up again.

In this way, incorrect setting of a form on the slip printer 2 can be detected. Therefore, a customer's sales data can be correctly printed on a form corresponding to that customer, and form management becomes more reliable.

Also, check the data (number of lines + previous balance +
Customer number) ÷ 7 = quotient + remainder, so the "remainder" changes every time, so even if the operator is a regular customer, he or she does not memorize the check digit and must always check the check digit by looking at the form. This means that you will not have to worry about accidentally printing data on someone else's form.

In addition, in the above example, the check digit is calculated as (number of lines + advance balance + customer number) ÷ 7 = quotient + remainder (however, the advance balance is calculated as the deposit amount - (TAX - total of TAX and tax-free), and Although the "remainder" of the result is used, the method of obtaining it is not necessarily limited to this, and any method may be used as long as it is obtained by calculating at least changing data in the customer's memory.

As described in detail above, according to the present invention, check digit data is calculated using changing data including not only the customer number but also the number of print lines, and is printed on the form at the end of each registration. Therefore, the check digit data is changed, so that the operator cannot memorize it.This forces the operator to always look at the form and enter the check digit data, so that the correct form corresponding to the customer is always set. To provide an electronic cash register which can print data and which can be easily operated by reading a customer number from a card using a card reader.
