Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1)本体と、該本体内に取付けられる電極と、該本体にその一端において取付け られる、ノズルオリフィスを備えるノズルと、該本体を通して、前記電極とノズ ルとの間を通り、そして該ノズルオリフィスを通して流出する一次気体流れを導 入する手段と、前記ノズルオリフィスを通して流出するプラズマアークを発生す るため前記電極とノズルとの間に電流を導く手段とを具備するプラズマアークト ーチにおいて、 前記本体に取付けられそして前記ノズルを離間関係で全体的に取り囲み且つ前記 ノズルオリフィスと整合する出口オリフィスを有するシールドと、 ダブルアーキングを防止するべく前記シールドを前記本体から電気的に絶縁する ための手段と、前記本体を通して、シールドを冷却するに充分の流量で前記ノズ ルとシールドとの間の空間を通して流通する二次気体流れを生成する手段と を備えることを特徴とするプラズマアークトーチ。 2)シールドが大きな熱伝導率を有する材料から形成される特許請求の範囲第1 項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 3)材料が銅である特許請求の範囲第2項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトー チ。 4)二次気体流れ手段が二次気体の一部を抽出するため前記空間と連通しそして 出口オリフィスの手前に配置される少なくとも一つの穴を含む特許請求の範囲第 1〜3項いずれか記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 5)少なくとも一つの穴が本体に対して横断方向に配向されるシールドのフロン ト表面に形成される複数の穴から成る特許請求の範囲第4項記載の改善されたプ ラズマアークトーチ。 6)二次気体流れ手段が気体流れを渦巻かせる手段を含む特許請求の範囲第1項 記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 7)気体を渦巻かせる手段が渦巻き流れを誘導するよう傾斜された流路内の複数 の口から成る特許請求の範囲第6項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 8)二次気体流量、少なくとも一つの穴の寸法及び出口オリフィスの寸法が、抽 出後の残存する二次気体流れが(i)該穴と出口オリフィスとの間の領域にわた ってシールドを冷却しそして(ii)ノズルオリフィス及び出口オリフィスを通 してトーチから噴出するプラズマを安定化するに充分であるよう選択される特許 請求の範囲第4項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 9)シールドがノズルに面する出口オリフィスにおいて丸み付けられた縁を有す る特許請求の範囲第8項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 10)トーチ本体に交換可能に取付けられそして絶縁手段及びシールドを一端お いて取付け且つノズルと当接する内方に向けられたフランジを有するキャップを 更に含み、そして気体流れを渦巻かせる手段が該フランジに形成されそして渦巻 きを発生するよう角度付けられた複数の口を含む特許請求の範囲第6項記載の改 善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 11)電気的絶縁手段がキャップとシールドとの間に挾持される絶縁材料製のリ ングから成る特許請求の範囲第10項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 12)二次気体流れを発生する手段がノズルオリフィス及びシールド出口オリフ ィスにおいてトーチから噴出する、一次気体流れにより創出されたプラズマを安 定化する該出口オリフィスヘの気体流れを与える特許請求の範囲第1項記載の改 善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 13)シールドがノズルに面する出口オリフィスにおいて丸み付けられた縁を有 する特許請求の範囲第12項記載の改善されたプラズマアークトーチ。 14)トーチ内に取付けられた電極とトーチの加工物に隣り合う一端に取付けら れたノズルとの間でイオン化された気体のプラズマを発生するトーチを使用して 加工物をプラズマアーク切断する方法において、加工物の溶融金属をノズルから 遮断するシールドを設け、 該シールドを電気的に隔離し、そして シールドを気体流れで冷却することを包含するプラズマアーク切断方法。 15)遮断が銅製のシールドを提供しそしてシールドをノズルから離間すること を含む特許請求の範囲第14項記載のプラズマアーク切断方法。 16)トーチを通して冷却用気体の二次流れを提供し、二次気体流れの一部を抽 出し、 残りの二次気体流れをプラズマアークを安定化するためノズルと機械的に遮断す る地点との間の領域でプラズマアークに差し向ける ことを含む特許請求の範囲第12項記載のプラズマアーク切断方法。 17)気体流れを渦巻かせる段階を含む特許請求の範囲第14項或いは16項記 載のプラズマアーク切断方法。
