Conventionally, the method used to determine the highest water level is to install a mounting plate with a number of cotton swabs partially soaked in ink inside a pipe that allows water to enter from below. There is a way to tell the water level by looking at the ink stains on a cotton swab that has risen and become soaked with water.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The conventional method for measuring the maximum water level described above is complicated and time-consuming to manufacture and install, and it is not possible to use cotton swabs or the like repeatedly. Another problem is that it is difficult to tell whether the stains are caused by rainwater that has penetrated by the wind or ink stains caused by rising water levels, making it impossible to accurately measure the highest water level. It had

In the drawing, 1 is a transparent pipe, and its top and bottom are covered with caps 2. The pipe 1 is provided with a scale plate 3 on one side, an air vent hole 4 in the upper part, and a water guide hole 5 in the lower part. Reference numeral 6 denotes a brake plate provided inside the pipe 1, which is formed of a hard sponge material or the like into an elliptical shape whose major diameter is longer than the inner diameter of the pipe 1. A balance weight 7 is attached to one position offset by l 2 from the center of the brake plate 6. Reference numeral 8 denotes a U-shaped clevis, which is mounted at one position offset by l 1 from the center of the brake plate 6 so as to be relatively rotatable by a rotating shaft 8a. At the bottom of this clevis 8, there is a continuous rod 10 for fixing the water level indicator plate 9. That is, the water level indicator plate 9 is attached at a position offset from the center of the brake plate 6 by l 1 . Reference numeral 11 denotes a float, which is located within the pipe 1 below the scale plate 9. Projections 12 are provided at the upper and lower parts of the float 11 to ensure that water enters the lower part of the float 11 from the water guide hole 2 and to facilitate separation of the water level indicator plate and the float when the water level drops.

The maximum water level gauge constructed as described above is used by being installed at an appropriate location where water level measurement is required. For example, in a place where there is no normal flow of water upstream of a river, and where the river only flows when water comes out, it is used by attaching it to a standing tree T as shown in Figure 3. Furthermore, in places where water level fluctuations are large, a plurality of maximum water level gauges may be installed and used as shown in FIG. In addition, in order to ensure that there are no omissions in measuring water level fluctuations, it is necessary to take measures to install the maximum water level gauge.

次に、動作について説明する。 Next, the operation will be explained.

When the water level at the measurement location rises and water enters from the lower water introduction hole 5, the float 11 moves up along the water surface inside the pipe 1 due to the buoyancy as the water level rises. On the other hand, the water level indicator plate 9, which is separated from the float 11 and set on it, also floats 11.
is pushed up and raised by the As a result, the brake plate 6 is pushed up to a position offset by l1 from its center by the rod 10 and clevis 8 that are integrated with the water level indicator plate 9, and is rotated as shown in Figure 4a. and rise smoothly along the inner surface of the pipe 1.

When the water level decreases, the moment of the balance weight 7 acts around the rotating shaft 8a of the clevis 8, and the brake plate 6 rotates as shown in FIG. 4b. As a result, since the longer diameter portion of the brake plate 6 is larger than the inner diameter of the pipe 1, the brake plate 6 gets caught inside the pipe 1 and does not descend, but stops at that position as shown in FIG. 4c. At this time, the water level indicator plate 9 is in a state indicating the highest water level up to now.
If the water level rises again, this operation is repeated, so the highest water level can be maintained at all times.

As a result, by checking the scale of the scale plate 3 on the water level indicator plate 9, it is possible to know the difference in movement of the water level indicator plate 9 at the indicated position of the scale plate 3 due to a rise in the water level. Furthermore, when this highest water level gauge is installed, if the water level is below the highest water level gauge, and the water level indicator plate 9 indicates a predetermined position on the scale plate 3 due to subsequent rise in water level, then the installation position of the highest water level gauge and scale plate 3
The highest water level can be determined by adding the indicated position.

[Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention configured as described above, the highest water level can be accurately measured and the highest water level gauge can be used repeatedly. Furthermore, since the structure is simple, there are fewer breakdowns.
