Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はシリアルプリンタ、特にパーソナルコンピュー
タ等の出力装置で、任意の長さに切断された帳票等を得
るドツト式のシリアルプリンタに関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来、この種のシリアルプリンタは第３図に斜視図を、
第４図に第３図の印字ヘッドアセンブリ１１の位置にお
ける縦断面図を示すように構成されていて、用紙は用紙
９を印字した後にフロントカバー８のエツジを利用して
切断するか、或いは用紙自体に予め設けたミシン目に沿
って切断している。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
上述した従来のシリアルプリンタは、フロントカバーの
エツジにより連続用紙を引き裂くために、切断部分が荒
くなり、その長さも不均一になりやすいという欠点があ
る。また長さを均一にして切断するためには一定間隔で
設定されたミシン目のある連続用紙を用いなければなら
ず、使用者はその長さに従い文書の出力を行なうように
印刷用のプログラムを組まねばならないという問題点が
ある。
本発明の目的は、連続用紙を使用したシリアルプリンタ
の用紙の切断を人手によることなく、ヘッドの走査によ
って切断できるシリアルプリン夕を提供することにある
。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明のシリアルプリンタは、コンピュータの出力装置
に使用するドツト式のシリアルプリンタにおいて、プラ
テンと印字用の用紙との間に設けられたバーと、印字用
のヘッドアセンブリに設けられ印字と同形式の駆動によ
って前記バーの前面の用紙に衝突する切断ヘッドとを有
することにより構成される。
〔実施例〕
次に、本発明について図面を参照して説明する。
第１図は本発明の一実施例の斜視図で、ヘッド部分を覆
うフロントカバーを取り除いた図である。第１図の実施
例では固定カッタバー１、ヘッドアセンブリ４の一部を
除き第３図の従来のプリンタと同じ構成となっている。
第２図は、第１図のヘッドアセンブリ４の位置における
縦断面図である。用紙９はプラテン２および連動するゴ
ムローラ１０により矢印の方向へ排出される。用紙９の
印字はヘッドアセンブリ４の印字ヘッド５によってイン
クリボン３を介して行なうが、印字が終了すると印字中
は用紙９に並行して刃を向けているカッタバー１が回転
させられて刃が用紙９の方向に向き、切断ヘッド７によ
って用紙を叩きながらヘッドアセンブリが用紙の一端か
ら他端へ走査することで用紙の切断を行なう。この切断
ヘッド７は印字ヘッド５と同様に、ヘッドアセンブリ４
に設けられた電磁石等を用いて動きを制御することがで
きるため、ヘッドが左右に走査する際に必要な部分のみ
を切断することができる。なおりツタバー１の回転は図
示されていない電磁石により、用紙切断時の切断ヘッド
７の駆動前に駆動される。なおまたゴムローラ１０は切
断された用紙の排出を確実に行なうものであるが、本発
明に必須のものではない。
次に、本発明の別の実施例として第２図の切断ヘッド７
に刃を付け、カッタパー１の代りに硬質の樹脂等により
作られたバーを設けることができる。この場合にも第１
図の実施例と同様に連続用紙の切断ができ、刃の磨耗時
にヘッド先端部のみ交換すればよく、保守が容易である
という利点がある。
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明したように本発明は、ヘッドアセンブリに設け
た印字ヘッドと同種の切断ヘッドと、用紙の両端に亘る
バーとによる用紙切断機構を設けることにより、ソフト
ウェア制御により用紙を任意の長さに切断、あるいは用
紙の任意の場所にミシン目を設定できる効果がある。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. コンピュータの出力装置に使用するドット式のシリアル
    プリンタにおいて、プラテンと印字用の用紙との間に設
    けられたバーと、印字用のヘッドアセンブリに設けられ
    印字と同形式の駆動によって前記バーの前面の用紙に衝
    突する切断ヘッドとを有することを特徴とするシリアル
    プリンタ。
