The rollers used in conventional belt conveyors have metal bearing outer races fitted to the inner periphery of both ends of a metal cylinder, and a guide shaft fixed to the conveyor machine frame inserted into the inner periphery of the inner race of the bearing. However, if the material to be transported by the conveyor contains a lot of water, such as earth and sand excavated from the riverbed, or if the material other than earth and sand contains water, salt, or acid, the bearings may There are problems with early rusting, loss of smooth rotation, and bearing wear or sticking, and when used in such environments, the rollers must be replaced frequently along with the guide shaft. It is troublesome to handle, and since the rollers, bearings, etc. are all made of metal, the overall weight is also large.
Furthermore, if the rollers of the bearings are rotated while they are rusted, sparks will be generated, which can cause explosions and other dangers if accompanied by dust.

The present invention was devised in view of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to form the rollers from plastic, and to form the guide shaft from metal aggregates and a plastic outer layer that covers at least a portion of the surface of the aggregates. By being made of a covering material, there is no risk of rust even if the transported items contain moisture, salt, or acid, and they can rotate smoothly for a long period of time and have a significantly longer life with less wear. Moreover, it is an object of the present invention to provide a roller for a belt conveyor that can be significantly reduced in overall weight and is safe even when used in an environment with dust.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. Reference numeral 1 designates a guide shaft whose both ends are fixed to the machine frame (not shown) of a roller conveyor, and the outer periphery of an aggregate 2 made of, for example, a round steel bar is coated with a jacket material 3 made of a synthetic resin, such as 6-6 nylon. are integrally formed into a concentric ring shape by insert molding, and a flange 4 is integrally molded with the outer sheathing material 3 so as to be located approximately in the middle of the guide shaft 1 and facing outward. 5 is a plastic first and second
The rollers 6 and 7 are butted against each other and integrated by adhesive or the like, and shaft holes 6a and 7a formed in the center of the rollers are rotatably inserted into the outer circumference of the guide shaft 1. Reference numeral 8 denotes an annular recess formed in both the abutting portions of the first and second rollers 6 and 7, that is, the joint end surfaces, so as to be continuous with the shaft holes 6a and 7a, into which the collar 4 is inserted. The inner diameters of the shaft holes 6a and 7a are made approximately equal to the outer diameter of the guide shaft 1 at both ends of the roller 5, but the diameters on both sides of the recess 8 are larger than the outer diameter of the guide shaft 1 so that there is no space between them. A gap 9 is formed. Reference numeral 10 designates a plurality of thinning holes provided in the first and second rollers 6 and 7 so as to surround the shaft holes 6a and 7a. On the other hand, circular recesses 6b and 7b concentric with the shaft holes 6a and 7a are formed at both ends of the roller 5, that is, at the ends opposite to the abutting portions of the first and second rollers 6 and 7, respectively. Rubber annular seals 11, 11, which are in sliding contact with the end surfaces 6c and 7c of the first and second rollers 6 and 7, which are the bottoms of the recesses 6b and 7b, are press-fitted onto the outer periphery of the guide shaft 1. . 12, 12 is the recessed part 6b
Rubber annular seals 13, 13 are press-fitted onto the outer periphery of the guide shaft 1 so as to be in sliding contact with the end plates that are fitted into the inner circumferential stepped portions 6d, 7d of the guide shaft 1 and 7b.

Since the coefficient of friction between the guide shaft 1 and the shaft holes 6a and 7a is extremely small, metal bearings are no longer necessary, and the material to be transported can be easily transported even if it contains moisture, salt, or acid. However, the influence of rust is completely eliminated, and the roller 5 can rotate smoothly for a long period of time, with little wear, resulting in a long life, and furthermore, the overall weight can be reduced. Furthermore, even if the rotation becomes heavy, there is no risk of sparks occurring.

がある。 In addition, in the above configuration, the guide shaft 1 is constructed by covering the outer periphery of the metal aggregate 2 with the plastic jacket material 3, so that the guide shaft 1 can be sufficiently strengthened. Not only can weight reduction be achieved, but the contact between the jacket material 3 and the shaft holes 6a, 7a of the roller 5 becomes plastic-to-plastic contact, making it possible to reduce friction as much as possible. This has the effect of significantly reducing the friction during rotation of the motor 5 and extending the service life. In addition, in this product, the flange 4 integrally molded on the outer sheathing material 3 of the guide shaft 1 provides
The central portion of the roller 5 formed by joining and integrating the first and second rollers 6 and 7 is configured to receive a thrust load applied to the roller 5, and the central portion of the roller 5 is free from dust and the like from the outside. Since this is a portion that is difficult to penetrate, there is an advantage that wear between the flange 4 and the roller 5, which receive thrust loads, can be reduced.

The aggregate 2'' is not exposed to the surface of the outer covering material 3''. On the other hand, reference numeral 15 designates a block body made of polymeric plastic such as Nurite (trade name), one surface of which is formed into a circular arc surface 15a along the outer diameter of the outer sheathing material 3''. The guide shaft 1'' is configured so that it is insert-molded and integrated with the aggregate 2'' during formation, and the block body 15 is made of a material that has difficulty in forming, especially if it has excellent wear resistance. Since the block body 15 can be used facing the surface on which a load is directly applied, it is possible to further improve the wear resistance and extend the service life.
