Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は特にプラスチツク板例えば化学分析
スライドのマウント及びマウントカバー間の溶接
に好適な超音波溶接方法に関するものである。
〔従来の技術〕
一般に、超音波振動を利用してプラスチツク部
材内に発生する摩擦熱で溶接する場合には、プラ
スチツク部材の任意の点にエネルギーダイレクタ
ーと称する突起を設け、これに超音波振動を集中
させるようにしていたが、エネルギーダイレクタ
ーを付加することは材料の製作コストが高くなる
ことから、エネルギーダイレクターを付加しない
平面板同士の溶接ができ、かつ溶接後の平面性が
保持される超音波溶接方法が望まれていた。
従来の平面板同士の超音波溶接方法として音極
端面に丸みを付け、この端面をプラスチツク部材
の重ね部を滑らせるか、円板上の音極を用いてプ
ラスチツク部材の重ね部を転動させることが行わ
れていたが、これらの方法では音極端面の当たつ
た部分に歪みを生じ、全体的な平面性において好
ましい結果が得られなかつた。特に血液、血清等
の液体試料の化学分析に使用する化学分析スライ
ドのマウントとマウントカバーのように平面性が
厳しく要求される板体間の溶接には問題があつ
た。
〔発明の目的〕
この発明は平面板同士を確実に溶接でき、しか
も、溶接後の全体的な平面性が溶接前と異ならな
い、高精度、良品質の溶接物の得られる超音波溶
接方法を提供することを目的としている。
〔発明の構成〕
上記目的を達成するために、この発明は、偏平
な音極端面に、互いに平面で接合される2片のプ
ラスチツク部材の一方の外表面側から嵌入し、前
記接合面を越えて他方に食い込める高さを有する
小突起を設け、該小突起を、前記音極端面が前記
一方の部材の外表面に圧着する深さまで超音波振
動を付与しつつ前記接合面に対して垂直方向に嵌
入させることにより、食い込み時のプラスチツク
部材の表面にできる歪みを音極の偏平端面にて矯
正することができるように構成したものである。
〔実施例〕 次に、この発明を添付図面に示す一実施例にも
とづいて説明する。
1は端面2が偏平に形成された音極、3は音極
端面に列設した小突起である。小突起3は、互い
に平面で接合される2片のプラスチツク部材4,
5の、一方のプラスチツク部材4の外表面側から
嵌入し、接合面6を越えて他方のプラスチツク部
材5に食い込める高さを有している。即ち、小突
起3の高さをH、一方のプラスチツク部材4及び
他方のプラスチツク部材5の板厚をa,bとする
と、 a<H<a+b になつている。
前記小突起3はプラスチツク部材4,5の溶接
個所に合わせて配置される。例えば第2図の如
く、音極1の端面2の四隅にだけに配置される場
合、同図の如く音極端面2の四辺に沿つて列設
する場合、同図の如く音極端面2の枡目状に列
設する場合などがある。また、小突起3は図示の
例では角柱状になつているが、円柱状でも、三角
柱状その他如何なる形状(例えば円錐、角錐状
等)であつてもよい。
前記音極1の端面形状は図示の例では方形にな
つているが、プラスチツク部材4,5の形状によ
つては円形等にする場合もある。
次に、上記実施例の溶接パターンについて説明
する。
まず、第3図に示すように、音極1の端面2
をプラスチツク部材4,5の接合面6に対して垂
直に位置させる。次いで、音極1の端面2の小突
起3にカツプリング部(図示せず)からの垂直方
向の超音波振動を付与しつつ、同図に示すよう
に、前記一方のプラスチツク部材4の外表面に音
極1が圧着する深さまで、小突起3を一方のプラ
スチツク部材4の外表面側から嵌入し、接合面6
を越えて他方のプラスチツク部材5に食い込ませ
る。この小突起3の食い込みと、超音波振動によ
りプラスチツク部材4及び5内に摩擦熱が発生し
て溶融する。この際、小突起3の食い込み周辺に
はプラスチツク部材4の歪み7が盛り上がるが、
音極1を更に加圧してその端面2をプラスチツク
部材4の上面に同図に示すように圧着させるこ
とにより、前記歪み7は音極端面2により矯正さ
れるとともに、小突起3はプラスチツク部材4,
5の接合面6を貫通し、両者を完全に溶接させる
こととなる。この時に小突起3に相当する体積が
プラスチツク部材4,5の間に流入し、若干の〓
間を形成する。しかしこの〓間は、溶着条件を調
整することによりなくすることが可能である。こ
の溶接完了後、プラスチツク部材4,5に食い込
んでいる小突起3を抜き取るが、この抜取作業を
容易になすために、例えば被溶接物の上面を一定
の治具等により支持して行うか、音極1を発振さ
せたまま行うとよい。また、小突起3の形状を抜
取易い形状のものにすることも考えられる。
なお、上記溶接は第4図に示すように化学分析
スライド10のマウント11及びマウントカバー
12の溶接に適する他、第5図に示すように二部
材13,14の端部同士を接合する場合及び第6
図に示す如く容器本体20のフランジ部21とそ
の蓋体22との一体化等その適用範囲は広汎であ
る。
〔発明の効果〕
このように、この発明の超音波溶接方法によれ
ば、偏平な音極端面に、互いに平面で接合される
2片のプラスチツク部材の一方の外表面側から嵌
入し、前記接合面を越えて他方に食い込める高さ
を有する小突起を設け、該小突起を、前記音極端
面が前記一方の部材の外表面に圧着する深さまで
超音波振動を付与しつつ前記接合面に対して垂直
方向に嵌入させることを特徴としているから、平
面板同士を確実に溶接でき、しかも、溶接後のプ
ラスチツク部材には小突起に相当する小孔群が形
成されるが、全体的な平面性は溶接前と全く異な
ることがなく、高精度、良品質の溶接物が得られ
る。従つて、血液、血清等の液体試料の化学分析
に使用する化学分析スライドのマウントとマウン
トカバーのように溶接後の製品に平面性が厳しく
要求される部材間の溶接に特に有効である。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 偏平な音極端面に、互いに平面で接合される
    2片のプラスチツク部材の一方の外表面側から嵌
    入し、前記接合面を越えて他方に食い込める高さ
    を有する小突起を設け、該小突起を、前記音極端
    面が前記一方の部材の外表面に圧着する深さまで
    超音波振動を付与しつつ前記接合面に対して垂直
    方向に嵌入させることを特徴とする超音波溶接方
    法。
