Timing of lighting of lamp 51 and erase lamp 1
As shown in FIG. 1, there is a lag of time t2 and t3 between the lighting timing of 9 and 9, respectively.
This is because the positions of the shutter 48, lamp 51 (pixel latent image forming device 21), and erase lamp 19 are misaligned with respect to the rotational direction of the photosensitive drum 16.

Furthermore, in the above configuration, the exposure light 49 irradiated onto the photoreceptor drum 16 is temporarily blocked by the shutter 48 to create a band-shaped area on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 16 that is not exposed by the exposure light 49, and pixels are formed in the band-shaped area. In this way, the operation of the optical system 12 is started, and the black surface 53 is illuminated while the lamp unit 10 moves from the stop position to the illumination scan start position. Since almost no light is reflected on the black surface 53, the black surface 53
The photosensitive drum 16 is hardly exposed due to the reflected light. Therefore, an electrostatic latent image of a pixel can be formed by the pixel latent image forming device 21 in this almost unexposed area. For example, the primary feeding of the copy paper P1 is carried out by the paper feeding roller 31, the completion of the primary feeding is detected by turning on the registration switch 36, the feeding roller 31 is stopped, and the electrostatic charger 18 is operated for a short time. The surface of the photoreceptor drum 16 is charged in a band-like manner. When the charged surface of the photoreceptor drum 16 faces the pixel latent image forming device 21, the lamp 51 is turned on to form an electrostatic latent image of pixels on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 16. Next, the erase lamp 19 is selectively turned on to remove unnecessary pixels. The developing device 20 then develops the electrostatic core image of the pixel into a toner image. In this case, since the optical system 12 does not need to expose the surface of the photoreceptor drum 16, the optical system 12 does not operate. Note that since the optical system 12 does not operate, there is an advantage that fatigue of the photoreceptor drum 16 can be reduced.

When the support member 63a, the frame plate 64, the pixel display sheet 65, and the support member 63b integral therewith are made rotatable with respect to the drum core shaft 62, the elastic force of the spring 67 moves the support member 63a as shown in FIG. The position of the group is reversed. Note that when the support member 63a and the like return to their original positions, the four exposure lights are momentarily blocked by the frame plate 64 and the pixel sheet 65, and a shadow is formed on the photoreceptor drum 16; It can be erased using the erase lamp 19.

First, for example, the paper feed roller 31 performs the primary feeding of the copy paper P1, and the completion of the primary feeding is detected by turning on the registration switch 36. Based on this, the optical system 12
start the operation. Further, the clutch 66 is turned on after a certain period of time from the start of the operation of the optical system 12, and the pixel display sheet 65 is rotated together with the photoreceptor drum 16. The reason for delaying the turning on of the clutch 66 in this manner is to wait for the rising speed of the optical system 12 to stabilize. When the image display sheet 65 rotating together with the photosensitive drum 16 reaches the exposure position Ex, the white surface 53' illuminated by the lamp 5
The reflected light (see FIG. 9) is irradiated onto the surface of the photosensitive drum 16. As a result, an electrostatic latent image of pixels is formed on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 16. The clutch 66 is turned off after the image display sheet 65 passes the exposure position Ex. As a result, the pixel display sheet 65 immediately returns to its original position by the force of the spring 67.

Further, the scan start position detection switch 14 is turned on, and when time t5 has passed thereafter, the registration roller pair 32 starts secondary paper feeding. This time t5 is a timing (t5-tl-t4) earlier by time t4, where tl is the time from when the detection switch 14 is turned on during normal copying until the start of secondary paper feeding. ing. The reason why the start timing of the secondary sheet feeding is thus advanced by a time t4 compared to the normal copying is that the above-described latent image forming operation is performed during this time t4.
