Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform an analysis of defects within a short period of time, shorten a repairing time and improve a service work by a method wherein a short-circuited state of a temperature sensor is detected and displayed. CONSTITUTION:For example, in a rice cooker, as a cooking switch 4 is turned on, a micro-computer 1 turns ON a heater 6 so as to start a rice cooking operation. Then, a temperature of a temperature sensor 2 is measured so as to judge whether the temperature sensor 2 is short-circuited or not. In case that no short-circuited condition is found, it is judged if a rice cooking is completed, and if the rice cooking is not completed, a measurement of temperature through the temperature sensor 2 is carried out. In case of completed rice cooking operation, the heater is turned OFF to terminate the rice cooking operation. In case that it is judged that the temperature sensor 2 is short-circuited, the heater 6 is turned OFF and for example a short-circuited state displaying device 14 is lit.

However, in the conventional cooker configured as described above, if the temperature sensor (2) is short-circuited by water droplets or the like, the microcomputer (1) determines that the temperature is high and no heating is performed. However, there is no way to notify that the temperature sensor (2) is short-circuited, and the user may not notice that there is an abnormality. It is difficult to distinguish between malfunctions and peripheral circuit failures, takes a long time to repair, and causes inconvenience to users.
